Sens Show Fight in Loss

For the second straight night the Senators went down swinging, this time mounting a furious third period rally against the Leafs.

Despite falling 6-5 to their provincial rivals, this Sens showed real signs of life in the third period and should be feeling pretty good about themselves heading into Tuesday's home opener against the Minnesota Wild.

GAME DAY- Konopka In, Butler Out

After a jittery start to the season, the Ottawa Senators are right back at it as they visit the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Sens struggled for large portions of last night but seemed to find their legs as the game moved along.  We'll see if they can carry over some of that momentum at the ACC tonight.

GAME DAY- Sens in Detroit

It is finally here.

After months of draft talk, trade speculation, coaching changes, free agency chatter, line up banter and endless discussion about the second line centre position, the Ottawa Senators season finally gets started tonight!!

One More Sleep

After a long offseason, we now sit just one day away from the start of another NHL Season.

And sure, some other teams may be playing tonight, but for me, it starts when the Ottawa Senators start.  Watching the games tonight would almost be like peaking at your presents before Christmas morning. I can wait one more day.

Sens Practice in London, Ontario

With the new season now just a couple days away, the Ottawa Senators made a stop in London on their way to Detroit. The club held their practice at the John Labatt Centre, home of the OHL's London Knights.

Peter Regin skated for the second straight day but is still considered doubtful for the opener against the Wings.

Alfredsson Story Seems Premature

Early yesterday, a story broke from Sportsnet’s Ian Mendes suggesting that this could be the last season for Senators legend Daniel Alfredsson.

At the age of 38, Alfie has suited up for 1056 games in the NHL, all of which are with the Ottawa Senators.  The fact that he is treating this season like it may be his last should not come as any surprise.

10 Questions for 2011/2012

It's hard to know exactly what to expect from the Ottawa Senators this season.

There is still plenty of unknown when it comes to this year's version of the Sens so with just three days to go until we drop the puck on the 20th Anniversary Season, I take a look at some key question heading into the new season.

(UPDATE 1:35 PM)- Some bad news on the injury front this afternoon as it is being reported that defenceman Matt Carkner will undergo knee surgery on the same knee that he hurt last April.  Carkner will miss between 4-6 weeks as a result.

Sens Make Final Cuts

The Ottawa Senators made their final cuts late yesterday and a number of those players thought to be on the bubble have survived.

Mika Zibanejad, Jared Cowen, David Rundblad and Stephane Da Costa were all included in the 25 man roster that will head to Detroit to open the new NHL season next weekend.
