Sens Defence Holding Its Own

As Bryan Murray continues his search for blueline help, the current crop of blueliners have performed admirably through the team's first two games.

While the Sens GM readily admits he could use an additional defenceman to slide into the team's top two pairings, he has to like what he's seen from the six defenceman Paul MacLean has used to start the 2013 season.

Lehner Sent to Binghamton

As the Ottawa Senators get set to head South to take on the Panthers and Lightning, they have made a decision on the crowded crease.

Despite dressing as a backup to Craig Anderson in the team’s first two games, the Sens have sent Robin Lehner back to Binghamton of the American Hockey League.  With Anderson playing so well out of the gate, the team needs to make sure Lehner is playing and he can do that in Bingo.

Sens Dominate in Home Opener

You would be hard pressed to draw up a more perfect home opener for the Ottawa Senators.

Paul MacLean's team was in control of this from the moment the puck dropped at Scotiabank Place on Monday night. Kyle Turris scored twice, and Jim O'Brien and Jakub Silfverber each pitched in with one as the Sens dominated the Florida Panthers from start to finish.

Game Day- Home Opener at SBP

The last time the Ottawa Senators stepped on home ice, it was in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.

After more than 270 days, the Sens finally return to the friendly confines of Scotiabank Place as they play their home opener in the 2013 season.  There will be a couple familiar faces providing the opposition as Alex Kovalev, Filip Kuba and the rest of the Florida Panthers roll into town.

Karlsson Leads Sens Over Jets

Coming into this year, many experts were asking, can Erik Karlsson live up to the ridiculous standard he set last season?

If Saturday afternoon's opener in Winnipeg is any indication, the defending Norris Trophy Champ is going to be just fine. Karlsson racked up a goal and two assists, leading the Sens to a convincing 4-1 win in their first game of the abbreviated 2013 season.

Off Day at Sens Camp

With Monday’s revelation that the Senators may go with as many as 23 players to start the season, some of the drama has been taken out of the abbreviated training camp.

Cody Ceci and Stefan Noesen are both here for the experience and will eventually head back to their respective Junior clubs, leaving the Sens with just 24 guys in camp.

Redden in Ottawa? Not Happening.

Based on the discussion in the last post, it's pretty clear that the Rangers pending buyout of Wade Redden has caught the attention of Senators fans.

With the recent ruling by the NHL, the New York Rangers are now permitted to buy out Redden. What does that mean for Wade Redden? It means he'll be an unrestricted free agent. What does it mean for the Ottawa Senators? Well, not a whole lot based on what I've been told.
