The Week Ahead

The Ottawa Senators wrapped up their five game home stand with a disappointing 4-3 overtime loss at the hands of the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday afternoon. In a stretch where the Sens could have placed some distance between themselves and the teams pushing to get into the top eight, they instead posted a 1-2-2 record and now head out on the road for a couple of huge games.

#4 Chris Phillips

On a night where he suited up for his 1000th game in the National Hockey League, Chris Phillips made sure it was a game he wouldn't soon forget. Chris Phillips scored his first goal of the season, and then added the eventual game winner on the power play in a magical night at Scotiabank Place.  In a career full of special moments, this has to rank right up there for Big Rig.

Phillips Hits 1000, Fisher Returns

For the Ottawa Senators, the most important thing is finding a way to bust out of an ugly slump against a tough Nashville Predators team. With that said, there will be plenty of other storylines to watch for tonight at SBP.  Defenceman Chris Phillips will play his 1000th game in the NHL, all in a Sens uniform and Mike Fisher will return to the Ottawa for the first time since last season's trade.

Slumping Sens Prepare for Nashville

Life doesn’t get any easier for the Sens either as the always competitive Nashville Predators are in town tomorrow night. The Preds have won seven of their past ten and currently sit in fifth in the West and just three points out of top spot in the NHL

Game Day- Anderson vs. Elliott

The Ottawa Senators are in a slump and need to get back on track in a hurry. With last night’s win over the Oilers, the Leafs have now vaulted the Sens in the standings, bumping Ottawa to the eighth and final playoff spot in the East.  With the Capitals not far behind, the Senators need to start picking up points on home ice.
