Noesen recently received a 10 game suspension in league play and the IIHF has made the decision to enforce that Ontario Hockey League ruling.
At one point it looked like a handful of Sens might be featured in the yearly showcase of the best Junior hockey talent from around the globe but unfortunately for Sens fans hoping to get a closer look at the team's incredibly deep prospect pool, that will not be the case.
Cody Ceci and Matt Puempel, who were both believed to be in the mix for Team Canada, did not receive invites to the selection camp. Mika Zibanejad was eligible to play for Team Sweden but the Sens organization made the decision to hold him back after a string of injuries slowed his development down in Binghamton.
Then this morning the news that Stefan Noesen would not be eligible to the play for Team USA.
The good news is the NHL lockout means the Team Canada line up is loaded with talent and should be well worth the lost sleep Canadians will endure trying to watch those 4 AM starts.
The World Juniors start on Boxing Day in Russia.
- And now time for your good news update in the NHL's quest for a new Collective Bargaining Agreement. _____________.
Bettman and Fehr are douchebugs.
Wait...there's more...
Apparently douchebug is not a real word! I am being informed live from Senschirp Central that they are Douche...bags.. .that's right...exclusi ve information to Senschirp Central: FEHR AND BETTMAN ARE DOUCHEBAGS...
Yeah, I'm bored...screw you guys... ;)
I heard Pierre McGuire was going to follow up with a contact in the IIHF to find out why Noesen gets the boot and Jonathan Huberdeau's 4 game suspension just handed out is not considered. The belief is the IIHF may have a game limit that needs to be exceeded before it's considered, has anyone heard more?
Either way, good to know Canada has one of it's top line guys still in the mix. But I can just imagine the reports from USA Hockey that we'll hear about Canada not losing a player, etc, after USA loses in fine fashion.
All I can say is I'm pretty pumped about having some decent hockey back on the airwaves over the holidays, it's been WAY too long.
The decision to buy-out Butler (and re-sign Daugavins) will turn out to be a poor one
Thank god for Silfverberg
This has been posted in a few other topics (forget by whom).

For the record: I agree with you and "thumbed-up" your comment.
To be a devil's advocate (no pun intended): I think that this was a result of us having so many prospects that were competing for the big league, butler's inablitly to reproduce that chemistry with spezza, and Murray having to take a gamble.
I would of personally taken butler over daugavins, but we also don't have all the inside info...and in the long run I'm not 100% sure it will matter all too much. By that I mean that I think butler is good and could of been productive for us, but I don't think either player can't be replaced somewhat cheaply.
I am forever in debt to bobby butler for one reason only, ive seen the sens about 15 times in my life seeing as i live in calgary, and they lost every time except for last season when butler scored two sick goals to win it against calgary. that is my story.
I remember that game I think. He got two goals in the 3rd if I recall. Well, I think the last goal was with only a few minutes left.
He's a Corey Locke. He'll produce points in the AHL, but it won't translate to the NHL. Guy couldn't even put up many points when he had time with Spezza. With the prospects we have, it was time to cut bait.
Honestly, I have to agree with some of the other posters above, Butler will likely (90%) not be something we regret. Though I too would've signed him over Daugavins, I think both are replaceable parts long term. Butler has 15 points in 22 games, and 7 of those points came in the last week.
There's an ex Senator by the name of Alexandre Daigle who used to go to the minors and win those awards all the time, but his NHL career never improved, despite his minor league dominance, even later in his career. And I honestly don't think Butler will even be at that level.
If he had a better defensive and physical side he could be a great 2nd or 3rd liner, but so far he's just a quantity shooter that needs to be counterbalanced on his line for his deficiencies.
Not sure of where they got it from or the accuracy... but Huberdeau's 4 game suspension would be over before the WJC started.. where Noeson's wouldn't that was the reason that Noeson couldn't play.
Also to the NHL & NHLPA -- it is time you showed respect for your fans and your sponsors (who make up most of your revenue stream) and to have respect for the game -- and get a deal done.
If neither side refuses to budge or even get together to discuss this... then the Fehrs & Bettman & Daly should be fired. They are no bigger than the game... and they had better realize that PDQ.
This hockey season continues to shit the bed in a major way!
Only thing worse would be to wake up and find out I'm actually a Columbus Blue Jackets fan! There's a group of people who must really be questioning their faith.
Hope folks aren't too attached to the existing layout because things gonna change! Stay tuned.
SIGH !
Even more change for the sake of change.
This BLOG has Jumped the Shark - style is now important than content.
Both are important. And at a time where there is no freaking content, I've decided to shift the focus to style.
There are some pretty serious flaws with this layout. Previous design was done by someone I didn't know and the end result was me not getting what I wanted out of the site and paying a whole lot for it.
A friend of mine has since shown interest in helping improve the site and I felt the need to jump at the opportunity.
I hope readers understand that my priority is and always will be providing the best site possible, both in terms of style and content.
