The Sens got goals from Milan Michalek, his tenth of the season, and Nick Foligno but could not find a way to draw even in the third period.
Although the game was sloppy at times, Ottawa looked liked they were in control. They were limiting the number of chances the Rangers had and held a huge edge in shots on goal, with the Blueshirts stuck in single digits until about the half way mark.
Michalek scored to give the Sens the lead but it wouldn't last long. Turnovers by Sergei Gonchar and David Rundblad both ended up in the back of the net and suddenly it was the Rangers that were in control. An insurance goal by Gaborik in the third turned out to be the winner.
The Sens now travel to Buffalo to take on the Sabres on Friday night. The good news for that one is it appears as though help is on the way. There is talk Daniel Alfredsson could make his return to the Ottawa line up in time for 11/11/11.
- Really liked what I saw from Stephane Da Costa last night. His skill level is through the roof and it led to a couple chances to tie the game in the third. You can see that Da Costa's confidence is growing with each game. He logged 16:06 in ice time last night.
- Same goes for Jared Cowen. He turned some heads when he dropped the gloves with Rangers tough guy Andre Deveaux but give Cowen credit as he actually hung in there. Defensively, I thought Cowen was excellent. He ended the game a -2 but I was actually quite impressed with the way he played in his own end.
It doesnt help that Alfie is hurt, but if this team wants to be a winner it has to go through this adversity.
I was a bit shocked when he dropped the gloves.
I agree Dacosta really showed some confidence.
Rundblad made some goofs but seemed to be trying to break out and try to develop some confidence, last night was just growing pains.
I think we're just seeing the "law of averages" kicking in. It was fun to see the Sens win 6 in a row, and great for their morale. I think most of us know that that streak was an an anomaly in our season.
As fun as they are to watch on most nights, I assume that we will lose more than we win this year (which is usually the plan for a rebuild, so I don't think many people should be suprised), and we are just seeing those losses/mistakes come in a streak.
FYI: My 3-2 prediction from yesterday was on the money! yay...haha (I was hoping that I would be wrong though).
If there was a wall we hit is was Lunquist
Great call!
And I agree, it was just a matter of time before we started playing at the talent level we have, which is very low. Heart and hussle can only take you so far in an 82 game season.
Well atleast my prediction for the year seems to be shaping up better now...lol.
Any takers on precitions in the 6 game road trip?
Loss @ Buffalo
Win @ Toronto (Gustavsson in nets)
Loss @ Calgary (Auld in nets)
Loss @ Edmonton
Loss @ Vancouver
Loss @ Pittsburgh
a few losses and you are ready to throw in the towel for the whole season.
When did cheering for your team to win become a bad thing.
Cheering and expecting to win are 2 different things my friend.
Cheer all you want but dont expect us to win more than we lose.
Thats reality in a rebuild.
He got caught very badly trying to pinch down low, and as a result wasn't playing the point which left Runblad hang out to dry on that 3rd goal.
Gonchar's mistake cost us the first goal, Rundblad's the 2nd, and Cowen's the 3rd, not too mention Anderson was out of position on every goal...The third one I'll give to him since it was basically a shoot out type scenario.
Anderson needs to step it up, we haven't seen any flashes of brilliance from him yet this season.
PLAY LEHNER ON SATURDAY!
He is never going too change we should trade him get more pieces too the rebuild !!
Lehner is in Bingo, Auld is back up.
Keep up the good work team, work on those mistakes and turn the page !
WHAT!!??? ANDERSON HAD NO CHANCE ON ALL THREE NYR GOALS !!
Quit these damn predictions, who gives a crap if you're right or wrong. All I see is a other negative fans that this team doesn't need. The team needs the fans support wheter we win or lose. And for the record, I believe we will get more than 1 win in this road trip...
we are not out of the woods.
Many turnovers from various players cost us the game, and MacLean must work them, to improve puck control and passing,
when moving forward out of our end.
The 6 game road trip will not be easy, as we face some strong top teams.
Hope our Captain travels with the team, and gets back into
the action soon, as we need Alfredsson on our 2nd line, as
well as our Power Play !!
GO SENS GO !!!!!!!!!!
WHAT!!??? ANDERSON HAD NO CHANCE ON ALL THREE NYR GOALS !!
Yeah funny people are blaming Anderson and not the D, which handed the Rangers all 3 goals...
2 open nets and a 2 on 1 with Gabby & Rich with Rundblad defending....so rry not Anderson's fault there...
Be careful with the distinction of giving up vs opinion on where one always ranked them from the start.
My point (that we will draft from 5-10) goes way back from pre-season, through the 6 game winning streak, and still now in our 4 game losing streak (you can even go back in previous topics and look for yourself - I'm assuming many people's opinion is similar to mine, and not because we are now losing a few games).
Predictions:
@ Buf - Miller will beat our slumping offense
@ Tor - Lose - They are hungry to get back on the winning side.
@ Cal - Win
@ Edm - win - Edmonton's been hot
@ Van - uhhh...yeah, just no way
@ Pitts - lose - damn you pittsburgh
Why, does it hurt to see the truth?
If you cant take the losses I suggest you dont watch games anymore.
Also in your infinte wisdom of knowing what is best for the Sens, you say we will win more than 1, please explain yourself...
Dunno why someone would downvote your comment, very accurate from my point of view.
I remember that. The play was scrambly and Ottawa didn't have full posession of the puck. Andy had to wait.
Who said anything about not being able to take the losses ??? I just told you this team needs our support wheter we win or lose.. yeah I ain't happy about it, isnt that normal ?
The game against buffalo could have been won by either team. Edmonton is also a young team, hoping Khabibulin will finally have a breakdown.. just trying to be optimistic !
Obvioulsy you didnt have to say it, its easily spotted in your posts, and it is somewhat weird that you are this angry about losing when you shold have known full well that we are in a rebuild and losses will mount up.
did you actually expect we would be a good hockey club?
Could woulda shoulda...
So your expecting wins vs Buffalo, Calgary and Edm?
Buffalo
Toronto
Calcagry
Edmonton
I'm hoping for the guys to keep it close and either snag a 1 goal game, or a shootout win (which we've been doing ok with...except vs Buffalo)
From the heart, soul and hard work which the sens have demonstrated in the first 16 games, YEAH !!! I don't think we are stanley cup contenders, but I also dont think the last place prediction is acurate either...
Yeah no doubt, I just based on the fact they are home and have last change and also who is in nets... Miller, Kipper, Khabby, Fleury, Luongo or Schneider are all better than Anderson.
Thanks Pat... makes you wonder if some of these bloggers are actually cheering for the same team as me and you..
Heart and soul and hard work only gets you so far, we are seeing that now, its great they are showing much fight but we need elite players to go to the next level, Spezza is our only elite player on offense.
You dont quit with the "EXPECTING" do you LOL... I ain't expecting anything from this team. As you said over and and over, we are obviously in a rebuild. I am being optimistic and hoping that we will be able to get more than two points in the road trip...
Hmmm, so Michalek who is tied in the league in scoring gets no recognition whatsoever ??
Well if your not expecting anything (your exact words) from this team why are you angry?
Your not making any sense, drop the act and admit your a bandwagon Sens fan that jumped on during the 6 game win streak hoping to prove us realists wrong.
You can see that my predictions agree with you (except the toronto and calgary swap). The thing about predictions though is that there is so little difference between a #5 ranked team and a #25 ranked team, that anything can happen. For example:
Winnipeg 9 philly 8
Motreal 5 Winnipeg 1
So one could guess that winnipeg and montreal would be a good game...uhhh.... ooops....5-1 montreal over winnipeg. Predictions should be taken with a grain of salt people...they are just gut feelings, and not "how much of a fan" one is nor his hockey knowledge.
So I don't get why people get upset by other's predictions.
FYI: you may want to lay off InAlfiewetrust tookie...kind of taking over the boards a not so entertaining debate.
I've been a die hard sens fan since I started watching hockey at the age of 5 years old back in 1993 !! Always have, always will. Wheter you question that or not makes no difference to me at all...
Hmmm well if tied for the league lead means NOT tied for the league lead than yes. Michalek has 10 goals, leader has 11. Michalek also has more games played.
And I was talking elite players, Michalek is not elite, he's a 25 goal scorer.
TOOKIE!!!!!!!!!
You are once again stirring the pot, and becoming confrontational , and turning this site into nothing but shit slinging!! In Alfiewetrust, is not a bandwagon fan , but a true fan !!
If I owned this site, you would be asked politely to cease and desist, and be gone !
- From my perspective, David Rundblad is our best player to clear the puck from our zone. I know he made a mistake on the second goal but he is still learning the game.
- Chris Phillips on the other hand is great defensively without the puck but it's painful to watch his decisions with the puck
- Bobby Butler...I don't know what's wrong with him. He is making bad decisions, he can't make a good pass, he does not put himself in a good position to shoot the puck.
Alfredsson instead of Butler with Da Costa as creative as yesterday and you have a +3 line for the night.
I know that the Filatov over Butler is a sensitive subject here but I'm growing tired of BB...
- Michalek is the real deal this year. He is becoming one of the most entertaining guy to watch during the game. Speed, skills, can play a bit physical.
GO Sens GO !
Just replying to his questions, but yeah I get where your going with this.
Its not AFM, AFM would have much better rebuttals.
And how is it confrontational to ask someone his opinion and by his own words contradicts himself.
I agree with you there, he really only had 1 nice play, where he tipped the puck over the player and had a scoring chance, the rest was just errant dangling and easy slapshots.
Eg. on the 1st goal, he just gave up and didn't even try to dive across trying to make a save (even though they probably would've scored - at least show some heart)
I corrected the name ! Take a look !
No more comment from me, as you are still on the same page
Yes now lets talk about the upcoming road trip shall we.
Tell me Snoopy, what are your thoughts? (predictions just freak people out)
2 on 1 from the blue line in. Rundblad clearly takes pass the whole way. In anderson Defense maybe Rundblad should have stepped up more to take the pass but he still clearly committted to letting andersont ake the shot (Gaborik, you know its a shot)
Then Anderson just lets Gaborik walk all the way in and he is almost on his own goal line now, with rundblad sitting at top of the crease still taking the pass
YET
Anderson still feels the need to cheat over to the right side, giving Gaborik more time and space to find the back of the net.
I need Anderson to trust Rundblad to take the pass and he face the shooter (simple 2 on 1 strategy)
Anderson should have been on top of the crease forcing Gaborik to shoot and if he chose to then pass trust that Runblad will have stepan
My $0.02
before this season started i EXPECTED us to lose more than we won. but HOPED that most of the games would be close. close in respect to score and play. i hoped we wouldn't get blown away. that way we could provide a good competitive environment for our young kids as well as keep me entertained during games. if we were getting demolished everygame that usually means the spirit of the team weakens and guys give up(bad for the rebuild)... and i dont like seeing the sens suck in everyway on the ice(bad for my heart)... losing i can handle but sucking is a different thing all together
so am i getting what i expected? in the standings, basically yes. but im more than pleased with the spectacular way we won some of those games.
am i getting what i hoped? exactly what i hoped for. other than 2 touch downs 14 of our 16 games have been between respectable to great finishes.
Go Sens Go
I think on first goal he over-challenged a bit, but that happens. Lately he seems to be to far back in his net and not challenging enough.
But on the second what was Anderson doing. Brutal give away by Runblad, but stacking the pads in that situation? If he stays up or stands tall in his butterfly, that goal doesn't happen.
You really think it will be a long season? We're already 16 games in and I'm enjoying at least 80% of the games and i'm always anxious for the next one as I never know what will happen.
I can't say as much for last season. Last season...NOW THAT WAS A LONG ONE!!! this one...not so much in my opinion.
You are forgiven by changing the subject (which is good)!
But I have not forgotten your antics...........
Regarding the Road Trip, I have no idea how our team will play, but am hoping for a dedicated and strong showing,
to be in the game, for all the games, win or lose !!
but my definition of a fan
*doesn't hope we lose... ever.
*doesn't get excited to watch the other team more than ours. *doesn't predict a loss and claim to be "realistic" when all you're doing is trying to protect yourself from the hurt of a painful loss.
*doesn't stay negative about his team (especially when there's so much to be positive about!)
and for tookies comment "Also in your infinte wisdom of knowing what is best for the Sens, you say we will win more than 1, please explain yourself..."
you basically hope we lose so we can get yakupov? that is having the sens best interest at heart? more like your own best interests. instead of hoping we tank to get 1st overall a "real" fan (in my opinion) would hope brian murray picks the best guys for our team with what picks he is given or trades for.
thats my rant.
You are an idiot. Please block this troll Chirp.
Not a troll bud ... Just thinking its time for a change ..Why so mad ?
we were all thinking it.
but my definition of a fan

To me, that's what Sens Fans are on here for !!
Good positive rant richardson711.
GO SENS GO !!!!!!!!!!!
Is that coming from a REAL fan ...Nice Rant Moron
You ask whats in the best interest for the senators and thats yakupov some of you need to wake up ...A real fan knows this is a rebuild and to get better you need to draft top notch players and that player is Yak and we have the team too get him ..
Now...now rich...I'm just going to try to sneak in as I'm usually a little more politically correct than tookie, and I don't want this to flame up (yet I know he will voice his opinion).
But you did exactly what you claimed you didn't want to do, challenge someone's fanhood. Heck, by your definition I'm not a fan either...good luck convincing my family of that. Never predict a loss? wow, that's a tough one, honestly.
Does that mean I don't love my kids as I don't expect them to ace everything?
a bunch of 20 year old kids with no leadership and no developed skills losing 80 out of 82 games DOES NOT CREATE A WINNING TEAM, no matter how many prospects they get out of it.
Spezza is one of the best role models I've ever seen. watch interviews, look at his attitude through what he's been through, he scratched and clawed his way to the NHL...
HE IS EXACTLY THE KIND OF PERSON THESE KIDS NEED TO SEE AND LEARN SKILLS FROM!!!
So please, stop.
Are you joking ??
This is what is wrong with the fan base !!!
Id be relaxed too if I stole Muti million dollars away
Leadership he cant put forth a effort level on nightly basis
And clawed Martin sent him too the Minors cause he wasnt any good defensively and he was soft and lazy ..As of right now 10 years later nothing has changed ...
The young guys on this team win by hustle heart ..Spezza has never shown either
The guy has played 1 full season in 10 years lol
But you did exactly what you claimed you didn't want to do, challenge someone's fanhood. Heck, by your definition I'm not a fan either...good luck convincing my family of that. Never predict a loss? wow, that's a tough one, honestly.
Does that mean I don't love my kids as I don't expect them to ace everything?
i totally know what you mean. i know i did what i didnt want to do but i bit. im sorry. lol
and i didnt say dont expect a loss. i said dont hope for one. and i think its okay to expect or predict losses but i think people need to really evaluate if their being realistic is true or just a way to 1)protect yourself 2)look good if you're right.
Thats your opinion and your welcomed to it but its wrong, haha, I dont hope we lose, we can do that on our own as you can see, I HOPE we do get Yakupov as it WOULD be in the Sens best interest to get him.
See its rants like this that make this blog just like the others, you dont see the once in a lifetime opportunity the Sens have in the enxt 2 years, instead you just want to roll with the punches and take whatever is given to us...
Pathetic.
Agreed FAIL4NAIL
Well said!!
@ FAIL NAIL,
You must be a disciple of Tookie, and you are so negative,
that you are slowly surpassing Tookie, as the most unpopular poster on SensChirp ............
Like I said to you a few days ago, GO FLY A KITE !!
The idea of a rebuild is to draft a very good player to play with spezza, not to replace him. What's to point of losing a number 1 center, to draft another center that may or may not be as good as spezza? going in circles?
I don't claim to be an expert (cause i'm not), but obviously murray seems to somewhat agree with me, or he would of traded spezza.
With a name like that, dow do you expect people to not think the worst of you. Seriously, what, exactly, is the point you're trying to make? We all realize that finishing near the bottom would ensure that the Senators would get a high draft pick, and most of us agree that the are likely to finish in the bottom 10, and quite possibly the bottom 5. It's ok to be a realist, but to suggest that failure, even in the short-term, is something the team should aspire to is what most of us object to.
Da Costa cant play vs Men, Daigle was also extremely skilled vs kids...
Get your head in the game Spezza!
First disagreement of the day Took...took a while today ;)
Ok, I don't disagree about Daigle haha. But I've liked quite a few things about costa. does he still have a long way to develop before he's top 2 line? god yes!! will he ever be top 2 line? hmmm...i have no idea. His stick skills are amazing, seem to have a pretty good IQ/vision (in my opininon), but he needs to gain strength and defensive skills.
I guess what I'm saying is that I don't give up on kids that have only played 20 NHL games under their belts. But I know that we also disagree on hoping (not saying he will) that filatov continues to develop into viable top 6 player.
Whats wrong with my name ..the way this team is built failing means more then waiting for your team to lose every night it means when it fails with the Talent level we have we will get NAIL failing might not be option for must but it wouldnt be worst thing either ... ....And to help with that rebuild we need to Trade Spezza..WE need too rebulid and if Spezza has value too other Teams trade him ..Get a younger Centre.. Top Prospect and pick ..
You add in Zibby and Silfverberg Lehner Pumps Noeson Stone next year will be Exciting ..
GOOD people who see and understand the game and know what it takes to win are sick and tired of watching and listening to half ass fans make excuses daily instead of being open to change ...go fly a kite jesus how old are you ..lol
Have been a hockey fan for over 50 years !
Your experience, is a lot less than all the rookies on the Senators put together.
Are you at least over 21 ??
I don't know if you can call it a funk or not. This team will have a hard time with consistency due to the injuries and constant callups/demotio ns/healthy scratch switches should make it hard to gain that consistency.
Douche Bag
No one gives a shit about your pedictions
You are a troll without the courage to admit it.
By reading your comments, it seems like the Sens have no rights to play in this league. They will lose most games, etc. Other than the 2 games against Philly and Colorado, Ottawa had the chances to win all the games. Once they figure out why they have so many brain cramps in their zone and fix it, they will win more than lose in my opinions.
Rangers were limited to 6 shots after 30 minutes last night. It's not like they couldn't skate with them.
Next time you write comments, do your homework and try to them constructive instead of negative. We might start to think that you do know your hockey. Unless getting poeple pissed off with negative comments all the time is what you enjoy in life, which would really be sad.
Go SENS Go
Yeah Johne, I agree, we are at that state, where lots of players come in and out, part of the rebuild I guess, the injuries surely dont help but hey, thats hockey.
I am not mad. I will never cheer for my team to lose. I am realistic though. We will probably be a lottery team and draft an excellent prospect. Trading away Spezza could turn our rebuild in to a 5 year plan. With players like Michalek and Spezza on board we can be competitive in two years. No team can be successful without a few top six veterans even if their skills diminish by the time our infusion of youth become ready to take on more responsibility. The Red Wings won cups with a mature Yzerman and I see Spezza developing in to that mould. He has put up with rumours of trades and criticism of his game and is still a team player. He will in time put this team on his back and take them to the Stanley Cup.
Have been a hockey fan for over 50 years !
Your experience, is a lot less than all the rookies on the Senators put together.
Are you at least over 21 ??
Yes im over 21 ..Im looking forward for the future and I want what everyone wants and that is to make make this team a winner for years too come and to do that you have to get the best talent out there !!!
Like we need this...guy cant even think of a name...sad...or worst referring to Healtey...
Right so the hundreds of analysts who do know they're hockey and pegged us to eb at the bottom of the standings are also wrong....right.
Speaking of knowledge and homework, I suggest you do your own, look at our opponents in our 6 game win streak, not stellar eh, now look at our opponents in our 4 game slide....see the difference? Probably not but I tried...
This rebuild will make us much better, stop crying that we arent winning now, we're not supposed to.
We will get a post-practice update, but all signs seem to point to Alfredsson being ready to return to lineup.
Great post DV, I wouldnt trade Spezza either, we need him to make this rebuild a 2-3 year thing, not a 5+. I still cant comprehend people who claim they are fans yet dont want to look at the future, with Yakupov and MacKinnon in the upcoming drafts, and our team being in a rebuild...nuff said.
Everyones on to you tookie, time to move on, you had a good run, now go to other forums and share with them you awesome hockey knowlege to which no one gives a shit.
Seriously, do something about this troll
If not Friday in Sabres land, it will be in Toronto on
Saturday the 12th of November.
Hope he is used in PP to start, and on line 2 with Foligno and Da Costa.
Sweet, Alfie is superhuman!
I'm done.
Alfie will be back on line 2 and on PP, unless P-Mac sees something is wrong. They sure need his leadership back, probably gonna be a win when he returns, just cuz it gets the players pumped.
I think Chirp would point to the fact that Tookie wasn't the one who called you a douchebag - that was you referring to Tookie.
Man, finally, that guy must be on something to be that angry, lol.
Poor guy.
It was definitely a close and well fought battle. Did the Sens deserve a better fate, maybe, but if we can hang in with the Rangers who are one of the better teams in the East, we can definitely keep making a run at a playoff spot. Time to go back to the basics and stop forcing the home run plays that aren't there.
Good boy tookie keep up the positive!
Do you know a dog named Tookie?
Yeah I hear ya, dont know what those guys we're on but they left as quick as they came, thank God cuz they were getting out of hand quick...
Are you quoting the same experts now who disagreed with you last year when you said we sucked? Seems like you use "experts" to support your theories only when it's convenient and matches up with yours. That's the issue we have, it's negativity for the sake of being negative. You may think you're spewing realism, but we all know this team is growing and will have bumps along the way. Saying we're a bottom feeder like the Jets is just as wrong as those who say we're guaranteed to make the playoffs, so really you're outlook is no smarter or more realistic then theirs, it's just more annoying to constantly hear it on a SENS FAN website.
I know we're not going to be a great team this year, and yeah Yaks would looks great in a Sens uni. But really man, All you do on here is try to start shit with other readers and then verbally attack them.
Why don't you try out for a hockey team, see how good your hockey sense is for real. You probably did as a child and were cut, thats why you're such a dick.
And really, does it make you feel good about yourself from your mother's basement to attack people all day for HOPING THAT THEIR FAVORITE HOCKEY TEAM WINS A GOD DAMN GAME THIS SEASON?
Go get a job, or a girlfriend or something man. I'd rather listen to idiots babble on then your bullshit day after day.
Well played.
I didnt attack anyone, as I recall I'm the one getting attacked for posting an opinion or askig for one...
And go see a doctor man, you must have high blood pressure...
Consistency and injuries and also last change on the road are huge factors. Please keep with the convo.
Spot on MadP,
Benn is a huge player right now for Dallas, Giroux is emerging as a elite player, Jagr looks good too!
Kopitar...man, what can I say......LEE!!! !
Konopka was pretty solid on his shifts last night. His skill set is definitely limited, but his line cycled the puck really well for the most part last night.
Cowen looked real good. The one Gaborik open net tap in he should've covered the pass better, but he was still in decent position, just couldn't make the play. The fight was a nice bonus and having him here feels like a combination between Phillips, Redden and Carkner.
Rundblad probably needs some time in the AHL to work out his kinks. He has a lot to offer, but having Gonchar, Karlsson, Kuba and Rundblad who are all turnover prone offensive dmen is a bit much at this stage of a rebuild.
Anderson is still not doing enough for me. He's not shitting the bed, but he's not really stealing any games either. That flop play on the 2nd goal was a bit embarrassing, not sure why he was trying to draw the penalty there.
Who do you think will be the first big-name (relatively speaking) player from the Sens to be traded, and what sort of return do you think we could see?
Nobody thinks they are hitting the wall.... This is the typical game your going to see from a very talented "young" team. Fully in control most of the game but making a few mistakes. Unfortunatly for our guys those mistakes happened with Gaborik on the ice...not a good thing. Get used to this, it's gonna happen a lot while the kids learn. One thing I have to say is it's exceptionally entertaining to watch. GO SENS GO!!!
Away for the morning and this is what happens. Extremely disappointed in the consistent back and forth bickering that is really showing no sign of stopping.
I think we need to go back to moderated comments. It sucks (and is a whole lot more work for me) but I'm not sure I see another way.
I agree, Cowen has been a pleasant surprise, I think on the first goal, he was caugh in the middle of 2 players and didnt know which way to go, as one would open up the way for the other. Gonchar was in the corner somewhere. He chose to stay in the middle, which is good but Gabby was in great position for the goal, no chance for Cowen or Anderson.
Yeah he's a beast out there! Kucherov and Gusev are also explosive, dont know anything about them tho!!
*runs to find out*
It sucks because it is more work for you, Chirp. The unfortunate thing is that it would provide much better hockey talk. And if a certain poster's comments were consistently being moderated he/she may just get fed up and leave.
I think Kuba, since his salary will be pretty much nothing and he is playing ok right now, trade deadline contenders would have no problem picking him up...
For Kuba I would say a 2nd rounder or an unproven young forward with some upside.
can you see Ottawa pick up hagman off waiver's. good be a good first line wing with michalek and spezza.
even if he doesnt work out, hes a UFA at the end of the year.
then we can send some kids back to AHL to get more playing and experience.
Be careful what you wish for. That "certain poster" may not be who you think...
Time for a SensChirp moderator contest! Not fair for you to do all of that work. You could also enforce something along the lines of temporarily disabling accounts of the people who constantly bicker. I've had my fair share of bouts with Tookie, but I think we've been fairly civil about it and hell we joke about it. Hockey attacks are good, personal attacks are bad.
It does suck because people can just randomly appear and start swearing on here and insulting other posters who post their opinions on a blog, imagine that.
Notice how fast the accusers came and left, just posted crap and took off...
Completely agree, good positioning, just caught in between a rock and a hard place. I think with experience though, he will learn to cover the pass. I can't wait to see him in his prime ... talk about impatient eh lol
I realize my first post was poor. I have been reading and commenting (much more sparingly recently) on this blog for pretty close to 5 years now. That was the first time I have ever called out someone or 'told them off' so to speak.
The thing is, I come to this website at least once a day to read some quality discussion about the Ottawa Senators and the NHL in general. Over the past year or so, that the particular poster has been here, it has been a constant downward spiral. It seems that a once great website for hockey is just becoming an internet d**k measuring contest.
I, for one, am sick of it.
Hell yes Johne, we go toe to toe but never threw out low blows and I never will. People like those who came here only to attack, I have no problem going personal as they attacked first.
I live in Calgary. Trust me, we don't want Hagman. Supposedly he came to camp in the best shape of his life, but Sutter is using him in a checking role so it's hard to say if he can regain his scoring touch. If Murray considers it, the Flames would probably throw a pick or a prospect in to get him off their payroll. He will clear waivers.
He's being waived by the Flames. I feel like that is enough reason not to pick him up right there. If the Flames organization doesn't want him on their team or in the lineup with the troubles they have scoring and winning games....well I don't think that needs any further explanation.
Call me crazy but I've seen more out of him than I saw out of Zibanejad and yes he is 22, but could he be this team's mainstay as our 2nd line center? He certainly has impressed me this season. I saw a huge skillset in Zibanejad and I see the same highend talent in Da Costa.
I know he is small, but I love seeing him cut through in the middle of defenders in front of the net to get a scoring chance. Small is an asset in his case I believe.
I tend to agree with you. If you look at what he's done in the last 7 games (since Zibanejad got sent back) playing 2nd line center, compared to the first 9 games, playing 6-8 minutes a game - I think he has showed alot of promise. With all of the talent that's coming, I think they need to take a good long look at DaCosta this year.
Sometimes. It's a Sens community too. A one stop shop for all Sens info. And like always, I pass along inside info when I have it.
Also, I don't understand how a guy like Runblad can look like a superstar one shift and make crappy decision on the next one. Last night, he had all the time to throw the puck to the right side to his winger. Instead, he keeps on the puck too long and ... goal.. I thought rookies were usely the one not holding to the puck long enough. But we all know he is going to be an elite player in a few years. Can't wait to see our big 3 dominate in the coming years.
Even if they are losing, I don't want to miss one game as they are an exciting bunch to watch. I prefer this team now to the NJ Devils.
Da Costa = WOW.
Just wanted to say that over the past year you've continued to excel as the BEST sens blogger out there. You've provided a great community for discussion and I'd say the bulk of commenters on here contribute very knowledgeable things. The transition from websites was a rough one, but I think it has made lots of things better. Always room for improvement and don't let one sour grape get to you. I think most of the regulars will agree that we all love the opinions and game-day threads every bit as much as your rumor mills.
Keep up the good work!
Quoting Johne:
I agree. Great work Chirp
People need to stop getting so riled up over what Tookie says. We all have different opinions of what it's going to take for this team to achieve, and I don't think anyone here is any less of a fan than the others.
Seriously, everyone here is obviously a huge Sens fan, and we all want the same thing, to see the Sens win a cup.
Chirp, please don't start moderating comments again. That takes away from the discussion far too much and it's annoying to have to wait for your comments to be published. I think everyone just needs to relax and stop the childish bickering.
This site is for intelligent hockey talk, a place where we can all come to discuss the team we love, so let's keep it a fun environment can we?
I know when I watch the games this year I have a totally different mentality. I don't get pissed off when Spezza makes a dumb play, or when Anderson let's in a soft goal, or a defenceman makes an error.
I just enjoy the games, win or lose, I'm having fun watching players like Karlsson, Rundblad, Cowen, Greening among others develop their game.
One thing is for certain, this team lacks offensive talent. I mean compare this team's group of forwards to other teams around the league, we just don't stack up to most.
Whether it's through the draft, free agency, or trade, we need to add 2 or 3 top six forwards before we ever become a playoff contender again.
Thank You.
3rd goal: 2 on 1 from the blue line in. Rundblad clearly takes pass the whole way. In anderson defense maybe Rundblad should have stepped up more to take the pass but he still clearly committted to letting anderson take the shot (Gaborik, you know its a shot)
Then Anderson just lets Gaborik walk all the way in and he is almost on his own goal line now, with rundblad sitting at top of the crease still taking the pass
YET
Anderson still feels the need to cheat over to the right side, giving Gaborik more time and space to find the back of the net.
I need Anderson to trust Rundblad to take the pass and he face the shooter (simple 2 on 1 strategy) Anderson should have been on top of the crease forcing Gaborik to shoot and if he chose to then pass trust that Runblad will have stepan
My $0.02
Also, Hagman would just take up a roster spot for one of our younger, more deserving players.
Rundblad makes poor decisions from time to time because he's a kid. Look at Karlsson he's still donig it, Growing pains are something will have to get used to.
Every time I see Cowen I like the guy more. He'll end up being a franchise dman for this team.
I think Da Cosata will became the guy that frustrates most of the time and delights every so often, not a huge imbalance like Kovalev, maybe a bit more like vermette. Of course he's still young so you forgive him a whole bunch, but I see him as mostly promise without delivery at the moment.
The great thing is though all of the players above have the chance to grow with this team.
As far as this site, people do have to realize that this is the internet...it brings out trolls, "internet-bulli es", and all that horrible stuff. We can't make rules like "you're predictions have to say ottawa wins" and so on,or this place will just be a circle-jerk. The key is to say something productive with your argument (not just "don't you watch hockey?").
Also please note to those people's comment that just read "can we please get back to the topic", and do not add anything constructive to the table are also spamming the boards (even with their good intentions), as often more of these later posts exist, than there are negative posts to start off with.
This is what pisses people off about Tookie!
Yes we are on a 4 game slide, yes we FANS are upset, so he comes here all High and Mighty on how he KNEW all this.
But during that 6 game slide, my was he humble, and taking the "why is everyone picking on me attitue"!
We are missing our leader and captain, we will be better
Agreed. A lot better than that Tampa/Philly fiasco that happened last night LOL. WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!!! i don't remember ever seeing anything that bad!
- only games we ever sell out are Mtl and Toronto, because of all the Hab and Leaf fans so we should thank them for supporting our team
Hey Tookie, last night was a sellout!
It was not the Hab or Laffs,
how about you try to post this for a change
"I WAS WRRROOOONGGGG!! !!!! signe Tookie
And stop provoking the decicated Sens fans with we will only win one of the next 6...which especailly hurts after losing 4
we will win 2 on the road trip and you will be wrong again!
And NO I will not tell you why or which two, b/c I don't care which two... but we will win at least 2
Brilliantly stated
Only speaking for myself, but I'm not upset in the least. The kids are learning. Anyone who thought the team was going to win every, or even majority of games were fooling themselves.
You need to focus on the big picture. Sneaking into the playoffs isn't big picture thinking. Looking at the existing D the team has and looking at what is brewing in the minors is the big picture.
A playoff birth would be nice...but either way, time is passing, and experience is being gained. The kids are ALREADY getting better! Cowen, Rundblad, Dacosta...they have all made amazing progress, and we're less than 20 games in!
Bottom line:they. Cheer up, be proud, enjoy the season.
let me guess you would want us to trade him to the leafs fo a 3rd rounder...right ? Tookie or ah Failfornail
The people who immediately blame the downfall of the site are sorely mistaken....the problem stems from his antifanclub. He and others(even those that disagree100% with him)typically back up their posts with at least what they view as relevant stats.
The real problem are the ones who bitch and post nothing of substance day in and dayout.
Until something is some to combat this once stellar site I suspect I will now only check in sporadically at best.
In regards to last nights game olivia can't believe so many people are happy with that effort we did nothing to help us but letting the rangers not only won but also not pay physically for what they did to afie. Personally I was extremely disappointed.
This.
This would be a terribly boring discussion board if everybody agreed but they don't Thankfully. I basically disagree with everything that a couple of posters say and make that clear by putting a counter argument. But I don't think it's ever got personal. Nor should it. It's the internet and we are talking about a game for fuck's sake.
Now to more important things. I really hated the Chris Phillips deal. I think he has been terrible for this team for the past 2 or 3 years. So with that in mind I think it's only right that I recognise that there have been significant improvements in his play this year. He's not back where I would like him to be, but he's a lot closer than I expected. Good news.
Crowing when you are right about somehting is easy. It's important to admit when you have been wrong.
Oh yeah lets talk about that, was that weird or what, the Philly D just stood there for like 3 minutes just looking at the Tampa players hahaha 1-3-1!!
Nobody pressuring him, just waiting in the neutral zone...
Who's to blame here? is there even blame to give???
Isnt the point of a coach to out coach the other and win. To me Laviolette didnt know what to do and complained...co mplained about what... a system?? find a way to beat it I say.
Notice how fast the accusers came and left, just posted crap and took off...
Hope you aint talking about me there Tookie... I was fed up with your BS and I also have a job. I prefer skipping your comments and reading what's interesting.
Chirp, keep up the good work !! Alfie day in Ottawa tommorow, hope to see him play as long as he's fully recovered. Wouldn't want him sidelined again because of an early comeback !!! I Trust in Alfie !!
Snoopy Senior, I appreciate your enthusiasm about the sens. Heck, i evenhave enjoy your excessive use of the exclamation mark! And as I get older, I begin to realize that age isn't something that can be critizied. Either you were there (young) or, God willing, you will be (old).
Btw: this site is a fairly tight group. We all know who is a regular and who is not. We also all know there are those, that for whatever reason, want to make life hard on chirp...we can all do our part by not feeding the trolls.
Isnt the point of a coach to out coach the other and win. To me Laviolette didnt know what to do and complained...co mplained about what... a system?? find a way to beat it I say.
No blame to go out. Coaches design def. systems, they can sure design systems to beat it. It's called adapting. What about having Cobourn Ice it from his zone and have a bullrush of 3 forwds racing to negate the icing? If they have speed and the dump is strategically placed, that's one way to negate the icing and set up.
Philly cried and made it an issue instead of trying to beat it. Laviolette needs to engineer new methods of strategic planning.
Laviolette said they were waiting for a Tampa player to pressure the Flyers defensive puck-carrier, so that they could work their pre-set breakout plays. I personally can't stand teams that play the trap. It really takes away from the flow of the game and makes for really ugly hockey.
On another note, some buddies and I are headin down to Buffalo for Alffy's return on 11/11/11. Can't wait to see him back in the lineup, let's see what we can do with our captain back! GO SENS GO!!
Were you watching the same game I was? I thought DaCosta was quite good.
Also, expect for the 2 blowouts & the Boston loss this young & inexperienced team (for the most part) has been in every game. They have lost quite a few by 1 goal, that I find a positive for a re-building team. At least there are not blowouts every night.
That play by Spezza on the Michalek goal was just great. I can live with Rundblad's mistake.. but not Gonchar's.
Neil sustained the injury during the Senators' 3-2 loss to the New York Rangers, although the extent of the injury is not yet known. I wonder who'll be coming up??
As a hockey fan it was a great game, fast paced plenty of skating and good plays.
First line looks good, and will only improve.
DaCosta played awesome, he will be something special, and when Alfie is back Foligno,DaCosta ,Alfie, will make a solid second line.
And yes Rundblad did have a gaff, but for the love of god did anyone see him skat through the rangers ala Karlsson.
Sens Fans,
And I cannot say enough about Cowen, he will be like a Chara but better skater
never mind Kuba, Phillips, and Gonshit, oops I mean Gonchar.
Cowen, Karlsson, and Rundblad will be a top 3 D that few if any team can ever match.
Dare I say in a few years we may have 2 d-men in the running for the Norris.
And I disagree, Anderson was not to blame on the goals, Gaborik has one of the best shots in the NHL
Only negative last night, Butler...he may be the odd man out when Aflie gets back.
They trade Spezza now -- puts the Sens back 5 years. It may take that long to find another #1 centre... if they ever would. Not all teams have that #1 centre. Yeah Spezza tries to do too much sometimes.. but this season, he has been lights out in faceoff wins. He just has to stop trying to do it all. That play on the Michalek goal was excellent.
Well said Sandy,
Agree...I've mentioned the Foligno/Costa/A lfredsson line a few days ago as well could be fun to watch. I'm also easy on Anderson. He isn't "stealing" any games...but the team often make him look a lot worse than he actually is (lots of break aways, and lots of turn overs in front of the net)
Ya, what in the world was Philly doing? Just because the other team utilizes a style you don't like or can't beat, doesn't mean you have to sit back to show the world that's their style. I think Philly is to blame in this, not Tampa.
When you have the puck it's your job to try and score with it. It's the other teams job to stop you from scoring and then try to get the puck back. If Philly doesn't want to move forward on that play, I actually think they are the ones who should get a delay of game penalty. If a shot clock has to be instituted to get out of your own zone once you get possession of the puck, then so be it, but Tampa's system, as boring as it would be to watch, is a very solid defensive style.
Until the rules change 1 way or the other though, hard to put blame on 1 team.
Have been a hockey fan for over 50 years !
Your experience, is a lot less than all the rookies on the Senators put together.
Are you at least over 21 ??
Good for you Snoopy Senior. It disgusts me with these 'young kids' disrespect for us older folk... I guess they were not told to respect the elders... like we were as kids.
Laviolette was right to be pissed. The Flyers did not break a single NHL rule. Why was the whistle blown down and the the faceoff initiated in their zone? I would have been pissed too.
I thought the move was amazing for a Philly team playing on the road. It would have taken the life out of the crowd...how could you cheer that on for any sustained amount of time as a fan at a game. Great way to take some of the wind out of the Tampa sails.
Good point on Anderson
I'm going... looking forward to it.
Also going to SBP on Sunday to see LEHNER....
Rule 63.1; 'A player or team may be penalized when, in the opinion of the Referee, he is delaying the game in any manner.
that is how they will defend it
That sucks... need him against Buff & the Leafs...
Technically, the only person who did anything wrong was the ref for blowing a whistle on a live (well...technic ally live) play.
But who will this hurt? the fans who payed money for the game. this was probably a "one-shot deal" and won't happen very often. But some heat should be put on tampa, as I'm sure several paying fans would be quiet upset to see this on a regular basis, as they are your bread and butter.
If the fans don't pay money to see a boring game, home team has lost, simple as that. But as I mentioned, it prob won't happen again for a long time.
My entire point was, lets be thankful for our entertaining sens not playing the trap :)
lets call it like it is...our D in our own end right now is weak, and I put most of that on Kuba, Gonchar, and Philips.
Yes our goalies were bad last year, but look at Elliot this year.
And Anderson is a top level goalie, but with our D, the opposition is getting shots in areas where our D should be cleaning up, or physically pressing the players so they cannot get those shots off.
And yes I am hard on Gonchar and Kuba, but they do not like to get hit, and well very rarely take a hit to make a pass, they fumble the puck for fear of getting hit, which causes opposing chances.
Karlsson and Runblad do not like to get hit but will take one to make a play
Cowen on the other hand, seems to love the contact and prefers to get hit when making a play (love him)
And here I admit some fault, I was not that big on him when we drafted him, but oh my am I a fan now!
I cannot fault Anderson though
thanks Ap, I had no idea of this rule...I stand corrected on my previous comment :)
Yeah, I am familiar with the rule, I just don't agree with the refs blowing the play dead. Especially the second time.
There are now fans screaming for shot clock-esque and back court violoation type rules as well as outlawing the 1-3-1 defensive system.
I am a basketball player as well as a hockey player, and I must say, if either of those two basketball rules were instilled in this sport I don't think I could watch it anymore.
As far as banning a defensive system? That's absolute bullshit. Boucher has obviously instituted it for a reason, and based on their success last season I would say it works.
if they put in this rule...they will also have to take a couple of cups away from Jersey :)
What about philly where was there set back when they traded Richards and Carter ?.....5 years no if its done right ...
As as far as respecting your elders If a person makes a hockey comment like "trade Speeza" and is called an idiot for it .... Chirp should take a look at who is throwing the first stone ...
Everyone here's comments are about hockey reading some peoples its attack attack attack with nothing written about the team or the players those people who cant bring "hockey talk" should be removed or for some just stay retired find another hobby
new brand of hockey Hustle Heart id do
Mike Richards Tyler Toffoli 1st for Spezza
I don't think anyone has ever complained about the Wings' defensive system nor stood still for it.
I hate Pronger with a passion, but I have to say I really like the Flyers. They have balls to go along with their grit and skill.
When a player shoots the puck, it leaves a blue streak on the screen...and when its a really hard shot, it leaves a red streak on the screen...'cause you know...that puck is hard to see on a tv screen sometimes...
what? what!!??? its a good idea!!! i can't see the black puck on the white ice sometimes!!!
Point being: leave the damn game alone (i don't even like the "goalie no play zones" behind the net).
At the end of the day, Tampa accomplished what they sought out to do. A win is a win. 2 points. Next game. People seem to forget, as much as it's about the fans, the bigger picture is making it to May and getting into the playoffs..
Well given the rule already in place, the easy solution would be to just call Philly for a penalty next time. Send a memo to the refs and teams/players saying if you delay going out of your zone for more then 10s do not be surprised if the refs call a penalty ... or something to that effect.
Comment of the day.
Yep the Philly player was delaying the game, lucky for him he didnt get a penalty.
Tampa doesnt have to forecheck, Philly has to move the puck up if they want to score. No reason to not move the puck up on a 1-3-1, every system can be beaten.
Can we add hawk eye too? I believe football and tennis both utilize hawkeye in all matches?
that my friend is called good humour,
that was funny,
but Philly has exposed a bit of a flaw in the game and the trap.
What happens if other teams start doing that in opposing rinks, shit I would not want to pay to see that either.
Exactly, and watching that replay (man was it overplayed last night on the sports channels) it was obvious there were some holes that could be exploited if Philly's players weren't just all standing around. They had a guy almost wide open at the TB blue line who could just tip a pass in and then they could proceed with their own forecheck.
When I was a kid playing hockey on a rink, and you were the worse player on the ice, they put you in nets (yeah, yeah...i played goalie a lot).
Now when kids play hockey on a rink and you're the worse player on the rink...they make you be the shot clock...
hey tookie it was a Sellout yesterday,
it was the Rangers and not the leafs or the habs,
care to comment?
Tampa doesnt have to forecheck, Philly has to move the puck up if they want to score. No reason to not move the puck up on a 1-3-1, every system can be beaten.
I obviously don't want to see this happening commonly in the NHL. But I think it was hilarious. It was a battle of two extremely good coaches and it turned into a chess match. Like a couple awkward teenagers on a basement couch, both teams were waiting for the other to make the first move. I can see how it would be boring to the fringe hockey fans, but I've been playing since the age of 3 and it literally had me laughing. In fact, I kept watching that game because of it rather than the Sens game.
Soccer has been doing this forever, the team plays keep the puck as long as we can, and/or keep away, at some point the tampa player has to come and try to take it away, that is part of the game to take the puck away from the other team,
Heck he can further taunt the opposing player by passing it back to their goalie in an effort to open up the ice,
Great play, and eventually will break down the trap.
The 70's Russians used to do simialar tactics when they played the Canadians, and kept passing it back to their d-men in their own end to open up the ice
It wasnt a sellout, check the real numbers...Corre ct me if I'm wrong but a sellout is 20,500...there was 19,543...
And alot of blueshirts in the crowd so you can thank them for the extra seats :)
The mistake is just in the fact that they don't include standing room tickets to reach a sellout. I believe a sellout happens at ~19,153, but with standing room capacity is 20,500.
www.NHL.com/vote
All star team Voting starts November 14th
Alfredsson, Spezza, Karlsson, Michalek and Gonchar are all on the ballot
http://www.ottawacitizen.com/sports/hockey/ottawa-senators/Scanlan+Spezza+become+quicker+draw/5684303/story.html
Ah well if they sellout at 19,153 then I stand corrected, can anyone confirm this?
This is going to bring great debate, will fans be stupid like in Montreal and vote for players who have no business being there or vote for players who have worked hard this season to truely be an All-Star (some of them for the first time)...
Thank you Sensation!
c'mon man its really not that hard
try it Took
I WAS WRONG!!!!!!
See my friend that is by far you biggest fault... you can never admit that you are WRONG.
Like you will be when the Sens win 2 of the 6 on the road trip!
I said I stood corrected but its not even confirmed yet.
And wow you predict they will win not 1 but 2 games out of 6, way to be SO MUCH MORE optimistic Miguel, LOL
Yeah first thing I thought was the year Montreal hosted
But really in this case, each one of those 5 guys is pretty much All-Star worthy, I dont think any one of them would disappoint hockey fans,
I don't think there's much to debate.
Fans will vote for the players they want to see at the All-Star game. That will normally involve them completing the ballot with players from the team they support and then filling it out with those few others that have been extraordinary or who they really like. It's a popularity contest, not much can change there.
If it were just analysts and reporters voting it would still be the same problem, somehow Phaneuf would be a starting D lol.
Only solution is let the coaches/gms pick or accept that it's what the most fans of the NHL wanted.
Confirmed? lol ... Come on Tookie you're smart enough to either have already known that answer, or to know you could look it up on a website. This is your fault that drives so many other posters crazy. You're "uber smart" until it may prove you wrong.
Here's a link for you:
http://www.capitaltickets.ca/en/default.asp?capitaltickets=15&objId=2
I think Rundblad should be coming down to the rescue any week now, just hold on ;)
no its about proving you wrong AGAIN... thats all :)
If it holds 19,153 seats and we sold 19,543, then some stood, right? so standing room must count...
I tried calling but its closed...
I havent been PROVED wrong yet, prove to me that 19,153 is a sellout. Go ahead PROVE it Miguel.
as posters have already noted, last year was a LONG year.
Many a game I was at where I only wish I had a remote control so I could change the channel. It was obvious many players did not care, so neither could I.
This year with many more mistakes, but much more entertainment, it is a joy to be at the game win or lose. Yah Tooks we may not make the playoffs, and yah we may even end up a lottery pick team.
But my dear friend we Sens fans can see and feel it, it is not too far off, we will be a potent team in a couple of years.
We will be lead by a star goalie, the best top 3 D in the league, and some of the bightest forwards who we will see at the WJC this year.
While other teams, such as the Laffs will still be huddling around mediocrity, and struggling to make the playoffs , again
Are you serious Tookie? That's not proof enough for you yet? Now you're just being what everyone calls you. I give up man, you're just not worth it.
19,500 is a sellout
just say it... you will feel better.
And then say it again after they win 2 games on the road trip!
What is with the hate for Spezza? I have seen no indication of not bringing effort. He is an elite player in this league and really helps the young guys along. His creativity is among the top in the league. He has great hands, a good shot and is dynamite in the faceoff circle. Stop me when I get to the negative part. I hope he stays in ottawa for a long time.
I have zero problem with Tookie, I poke him now and again about the laughs but he seems to take it ok.
Clearly he is negative towards the Sens but it is not a crime.
Lets not bash each other here with personal attacks, nothing wrong with disagreements of opinion.
I still think we make playoffs and I say we win most of our games on the road.
Who cares if I am wrong, I certainly don't.
Enjoying every game.
on another note Spezza trade talk is a Leaf fascination with him, trolls like was said.
Not all that post here are sens fans.
It is the same as freezing the puck against the boards, with no opposition player near the puck. Puck has to move or ref blows whistle,to call delay of game penalty.
Do you get Rogers sportsnet 1? It's channel 99 for rogers. Not sure what it is on bell.
perfect thank you!
It's been a wild game.. so much skill on the ice.
That or both teams forwards were that good!! lol
Yeah and he doesnt shy away from getting hit as you saw Dougie almost put him through the boards!
Not your typical Russian, he plays NA style!!
Agree with strong statement from meadowdog, who along with tcharger, Hax, and a few other elite posters, have had enough, of the back and forth bickering in nature of posts,
written by Tookie and FailNail !!
Let's hope, that they both realize, that this site can be fun and enjoyabl once again, without Chirp having to monitor each post before posting it !
Let's move on, and bury the hatchets !!
Thanks Chirp
The majority are knowledgable Sens fans, with great (albeit sometimes biased) opinions.
We need to keep in mind that this site is not only open to Sens fans and we will get the odd provocation from Sens detractors, who want to get a rise out of Sens Army.
Believe me I am no saint, I get caught up into it as much as anyone, and do not take to trash talk on our Sens lightly, and will defend them especially against rude and obnoxious comments, and prove those detractors wrong.
Bottom line is there are people who love the attention, good or bad (nameless butg we all know who this is), and will say things to get a rise out of Sens army.
Lets not get overly sensitive, lets prove them WRONG, and enjoy the majority of excellent comments on our Sens and the NHL.
GO SENS GO!!
PS LEAFS SUCK!!!
He will replace Chris Neil , who has an ankle injury that will keep him out for a few games .
Also, it looks like Lee will team up with Phillips, and David Rundblad will sit this game out !
GO SENS GO !!!!!!!!!!!!
11/11/11 11:11am 11sec - we bow to Alfie
This is easily fixed with an ignore feature. I personally wouldn't likely "ignore" Tookie even since his hockey knowledge is usually decent and while he is overly negative he rarely crosses any lines (IMO). But for those that can't stand him or other posters, an "ignore" button would solve it I think.
I usually skip this site after a loss and wait for the next game day post, but it's not due to any particular posters - just more my desire to keep my rose-colored glasses on. :)
we're not getting him... deal with it.
Nothing is for sure my man, you never know.
No.
Sens don't have a Giroux or a Briere as a backup.. quite a different scenario than what the Sens have now which is quite a bit of inexperience down the middle. WHY did the Flyers trade Richards?
