  • Murray Speaks- Alfie, Draft, Budget and MacLean

Lost in the hype around yesterday’s announcement surrounding the new Canadian Tire Centre, or The Wheel House as Sens fans have dubbed it, was an interesting interview with Sens GM Bryan Murray.

In the article posted on the Senators website,  Murray discussed a variety of topics including the future of Daniel Alfredsson, plans for draft day, Paul MacLean’s future and how the new agreement with Canadian Tire may impact the team’s salary structure for next season.

Thank You, Binghamton!

While the end result may not have been what the fans were looking for, I think it's safe to say the first ever SensChirp road trip was a resounding success. The Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena was buzzing tonight and I think the Ottawa crew had a lot to do with that!

Can't wait to see you guys again in Round 3.

I want to start this post with a big thanks to the guys over at the Red Scarf Union. What started as a pipe dream in the SensChirp comment section quickly became a reality and it could not have happened without their help.

Steve, Michael and Chris were all fantastic throughout the planning and organizing of this trip and really helped bring this thing together. And thanks to Mike from the Sens for supplying some awesome prizes along the way. Your karaoke performance (which is on tape by the way) will live in my memory for years to come.

A huge thanks to the fans on the bus. I know the planning of this trip was a little sketchy at times but you were all patient throughout and really helped this trip come together. Great spirit on the way down and just amazing at the game. I've heard we made quite the impression on the fans and media in Binghamton!

I'd like to close out this post by thanking the fans of the Binghamton Senators. I have been to a ton of hockey games in my day but this really will go down as one of my all-time favourite hockey memories. From the hockey talks with die hard Bingo fans in the beer line, to the healthy scratches (Brodeur, Cowick, Hale) waving to us during the game, to the owner of the team greeting us as we got off the bus, it really was a first class experience the whole way.

So thanks again to the RSU, to the SensChirp readers that came along and to the city of Binghamton.

Hope to see you all again in Round 3!

Is there a chance that a road trip to Bingo can happen again in the future on a day other than a Saturday?

I would have really liked to come but Saturday couldn't have been a worse day for it to happen.

Chirp and the rest,

Thanks so much for making the trip! And despite the loss this was without a doubt a top moment for me in years of being a season ticket holder in Binghamton. Your presence was the icing on the cake. The attendance last night even beat out the Scranton/Charlo tte game! I know Monday night will be a sliver of last night but I am looking forward to the Sens going up 3-1!!!

Time in zone definitely favoured the Sens last night. When on the defensive Kinraid did a nice job blocking shots.

Aside from the guy seated next to me who seemed to have died a few weeks ago, the crowd was fantastic and very generous.

Daugavins wins the best playoff 'stache contest. Pure Burt Reynolds.

Also, love the pace of the AHL game. No farting around for TV commercials. Just hockey.

excuse my ignorance on the subject, instead of researching the answer I'd hoped someone could just tell me

Are the rosters for WHC set in stone now that the tourny has begun, or can players eliminated from 2nd/3rd round of NHL playoffs still join?

There may be a cut off point in the IIHF but with each passing round of the NHL playoffs, players are simply too tired and banged up to want to go to World's. Plus late arrivals may disrupt established team dynamics.

Ok, two buses next time and I'll be on one of them. Wish I had been there.

So what was the booze situation on the bus? On the numerous bus trips to Whiteface and Vermont the US and Canadian border guards were pretty cool about booze on the bus but those are different border crossings...

Do you think a trip like this would happen anytime in the near future? It seems as if a lot more people want to go after hearing about how amazing the experience it was.

What do you call a Toronto Maple Leaf with a Stanley Cup ring?

A thief

The Toronto Maple Leafs have started a new 'Green-Initiati ve', They are conserving paper by not printing playoff tickets for the next 7 years.

That second one was Ian Mendes

HAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAH

LEAFS SUCK

Now that one is funny.

Yes they were mentioning last night on the way home, I believe, there may be another trip next round if the B-Sens make it -- or should I say WHEN.

Chirp,

Any idea why Rundblad isn't playing at the WHC anymore?

No was not hung over at all -- although I did consume quite a bit of wine. I was just very, very tired.

Hey Chirp,
would be really interested in a road trip to watch Bingo this year. If so do you have any ideas what days they might be? Or has the AHL not released anytying until this round is done
