Historically, the Senators have had their fair share of issues in Washington.
The Caps are 10-0-1 in their last eleven outings on home ice against the Sens. Washington has struggled as of late though and have dropped four straight including an 0-2 record with Dale Hunter behind the bench. I've had a chance to watch the Caps a little bit recently and they look like a group that is really gripping the stick tight. If the Sens can get a lead, that hometown crowd will almost certainly turn ugly.
The Sens should get a boost on the physical side of things as Chris Neil makes his return to the Ottawa line up. His high ankle sprain has kept him on the sidelines for the last 9 games but will draw back in this evening. There was no word on who would come out of the line up but I would assume it's Bobby Butler.
While Chris Neil returns, Filip Kuba will miss his second straight with with an upper-body injury. MacLean will go with the same six defenceman as he did the other night in Dallas. Will post the line up shortly.
Puck drop comes just after 7:00 PM tonight. The game is available on CBC's Hockey Night in Canada and should be available for streaming on their website.
We know the CBC would never play a Sens game over a say...Toronto vs Colorado game, no matter who the Sens are playing. So truly, this is progress.
Thank you CBC, your online streaming and local coverage of the Battle of the Capital Cities is truly an early Christmas gift for the entire land!
Go fuckin Sens.
~Peluso
And yeah, GO SENS GO!!!!
The scoreboard across the league has been very generous towards us, would be huge to get the 2 pts tonight!
Go Sens!!
Go Zach Smith!!!!
I sent emails to CBC for years on end, their response is that the Sens get priority over the Leafs in the spring.
;)
Anyone on here want to put together a EASHL league team on NHL 12 PS3?
once I get it and learn to play, would love to lol..not in the budget unfortunately :(
EEYORE has a new "handle"
if you ever get one figured out id be interested
I would set one up if we can get a few players interested...
What's the deal with that EASHL?
Do you have to have a certain amount of users?
So if you have 10 guys, it's a leauge between just those 10 guys?
I'm down for any sort of NHL12
im interested, my PSN : GoSensGo18
A team plays together, each player has a position, against everyone else on the planet who was teams made up. Not 100% sure but i think there is 12 spots per team.
I don't have PS3 but I think it's only fair that I get the title of GM. Don't for one second think I won't trade the whole lot of yas!
Haha... awesome.
Will Chirp be kind enough to post the Lineup of both
forward combinations and defense pairings, as well as
the starting goalie and backup !!
Should be a fast and exciting contest.
PSN DuFF-
My PSN is darthsens911. Sent you both messages to join. Club is fully set up now. Feel free to join.
Hey Snoop,
Still waiting to hear who comes out for Neil so Sens line up is still up in the air. Would assume Neil takes Butler's spot on the fourth line though. Craig Anderson starts. On the Caps side, Semin is out of the line up.
Here is my best guess at Sens combos.
Greening-Spezza-Filatov
Michalek-Foligno-Alfredsson
Daugavinsr-Smith-Condra
Konopka-Winchester-Neil
Phillips-Karlsson
Cowen-Gonchar
Rundblad-Lee
I actually hardly ever play NHL12 anymore.
You're about to get your very own Rundblad.
my ps3 is at my buddies, i got hurt in my hockey game and couldnt get it, ill accept tomorrow! Go Sens Go!!
You guys have mics?
Should be fixed now.
You bet...
Should be a good game tonight and it will be interesting to see how much the Caps style of play changes under Hunter.
YOu know if the Sens are 1 of 20 teams trying too sign Andrej Sustr...6'8 220 dmen Shut down with Offensive skill
Univ. of Nebraska-Omaha NCAA games 16 3-8=11 points 16 pims
Was just reading about him on HF. Have already asked around. Will let you know if I hear anything.
Daugs out tonight Neil taken his spot ..
Ya? Hadn't heard that. Interesting move.
Still don't see it online anywhere either. Where did ya hear?
Don't like that.... Daug has been good on the PK... Sooner Konopka come out...
Will be interested to see who takes Daug's spot on the PK... and if they are as successful. That Smith-Daug-Cond ra line was very good...
Wow -- him with Cowen would be a tandem in the future that not too many teams could match...especia lly those smurfs in Montreal.
Please add in request senschirp nhl 12
I dont add anyone unless know how i met them
It's what Yost has as the line-up. Who knows how accurate it is.
Saw it on HF ..But im also reading its Butler out Neil kono and winnie as the 4th line
Just saw Daugs on the ice ,,,
Lucky you, it isn't. It was Gord Wilson who said that.
at the end of the day in PM i trust, not too sure if i always do in BM
Back to the freaking butler experiment? i dont get it at all..Give Filatov a freaking chance...other than the one game Butler has done shite in more games played than filatov...heck, the greening experiment is wearing off too...Poor Spezza,,,
he ruins every Sens game he's on,if I have an anger problem that farging a-hole is my stresser, man I can't stand ex players who can't remember who gave them their start on T.V
Quoting N8ball85:
To me it looks like mclean is giving butler his fair chance before giving it back to filitov.
Sd sens feed on bell is wearing on me, like 40 channels showing leafs in hd and just 1 sd feed cbcott for the sens.
Greening should not be on the first line...
sooo angry right now...
Keeping an eye on the other teams playing tonight...also.
Perron actually tweeted that Joe Thornton was a class act for wishing well upon his return. Perron's a bigger man than me after what Jumbo Joe did to him.
The fake shot ain't workin' bud!
..That is all
Do you think part of the issue is not having Michalek on the other wing? That line has not done a lot since Michalek's moved.
Has anyone else noticed that we are the Ottawa Slump busters in the sense that sleeping giants have been waking up when they play us...eg. Rihards, Staal, Ovie...
Ovechkin destroyed him!!
I'd say so. Knock on wood for Michalek's health. He could be on pace for 35, which is reasonable. Foligno has had some chemistry with Smith in the past so why not reward him for Smith's recently good play?
Michalek - Spezza - Butler
Smith - Foligno - Alfredsson
Greening - Winchester - Neil
Filatov - Konopka - Condra
For now anyway. Not like these lines will be the same in the next 2 years when Stone, Pageau, Silfverberg and our three 1st rounders all crack the team.
I'd like to see this instead
*Nods head
EEYORE!!!!
We deserved the 2 points. And in regulation too. owned them most of the game
Block this donkey Chirp!
Milan now tied with Kessel at 16 goals.
I'll take the point.
and i seriously didnt expect to watch such a boring game esepcailly between these 2 teams
Block me for getting my prediction right? hahaha
Because Filatov has done nothing to earn playing time. He's been below average in the NHL.
This is probably his last straw in the league.
NYI -- Matt Moulson has 4 goals after 2 periods against Dallas... score is 5-4 for NYI
-i like the greening experiment and i'm not going to throw him under the bus for not scoring like he did in the first month. his career is still young and the season is still young. i think he is great.
-cowen is great. i doubt anyone would disagree with me there.
-rundblad makes me feel the same way karlson did in his first year. my stomach twisted in knots when he has the puck in his end or when he pinches in. but lots of potential.
-butler i think needs to play better so that we can trade him for something good, or pair him with something.
-daug smith and condra are a dream come true.
Prince is a stud !!! Steal of the draft top 6 written all over him
We had no business even getting that. It may have just been NHL.com's highlights, but it sure looked like the Caps were out hustling us on everything.
Hes been a giveaway machine in the last 2 games.
On another note, good on Mickey for equalling Kessel in goals. Maybe now they can mention someone other than Kessel on TSN and SPSNT (although the probably wont)
I JUST HOPE HE KEEPS IT UP....I MISS HAVING A 50 GOAL SCORER AND I THINK THAT MICHALEK CAN PULL IT OFF
I'm sorry but gonchar is so lazy he should be in the third pairing and should save what little energy he has in the game for the power play.
We need a second line center bad. So we can move michalek back with spezza and then will alfredsson have somebody to play with.
Im looking at Sam Ganger
