Houston has been pretty tough defensively in this series but right off the bat you could just see that the BSens had an extra gear. They made life tough on the Aeros defence and seemed to be much quicker than in the previous two games.
Cody Bass, Corey Locke and Derek Smith had the goals for the home side and Robin Lehner stopped 21 shots for his third shutout of the playoffs. Getting the first goal is huge against this Houston game because they can lock it down when they get the lead. That will be a key again tomorrow night.
Really impressed with the play of Jared Cowen since joining the team down in Bingo. His transition to the AHL game has been seamless. He looks like an extremely confident player and he has been an absolute force defensively. His reach and overpowering strength make him an extremely difficult guy to play against.
The crowd in Binghamton was in fine form tonight but I completely expect tomorrow night's crowd to be just as loud. You could see the tensions boiling over between these two teams at the end of the game so you know Game 5 will be wild! Can't wait to get on the BingoBus tomorrow afternoon.
Prepare yourself Binghamton- SensChirp and the RSU are on the way!
GO BSENS GO!
Great win tonight by the B-Boys!
Houston has a problem!
Bass may have tapped that one in but that was ALL GREENING on the first goal! He was feisty all night long!
Hopefully the success garnered from this season can resonate to the pro club next season.
Can you imagine what winning the Calder Cup would do for Cowen, Lehner, Smith, Greening and Butler?
GO BSENS
Sorry Buddy but my hope is that you don't see game 7. ...
Sens win next 2...
Lehner has been amazing!
To be fair, that wasn't the RSU. That was a group of season ticket holders and Sens staff. The real fans are coming tonight!
The kids a stud.
thanks man !!
end of the 1st.
wooooppps lol thanks for the correction
no prob! :) GO BSENS GO!!!
Hell yeah! Keep her going boys! Keeping the lead with fairly meager shots on goal.
GO BINGO!
?
1 MORE !!!!
Murry would be crazy to not seriously think about it.
anyone else lose the feed.
hfsens
that one works
Why waste a year on the bench instead of playing full time in the AHL????? Especially since he faces a ton of rubber down there.
Yes, it does. He's proving that he's more than capable of being a NHL backup.
BUT.
Ottawa doesn't want him to be a backup goalie, they want him to be a starter. And since they signed Anderson with the intention of making him the starter for the next 2-3 years, there's little developmental value in bringing Lehner up to sit on the bench. Let him play in Bingo, they have a good team and good coaches, and he'll wind up as a better player for having experienced that.
WOW.
What a nail bitter.
1) 3rd goal was, I think, the ugliest I've seen all year. I want to see much much much much more of this type of goal from both Sens teams!
2) Clear shot, centre screen of Senschirp @ 12:27 of the 3rd. Glad to see you guys were having fun. Must ot been a hellova ride back home. Hang over likely to last til Tuesday!
Go Sens Go
Any word on Cowen?
Lehner should NOT come up as a backup...he needs to play
If KK is the new o-sens coach (which I'm fine with) we still have steve sterling (ahl/nhl experienced guy) for the bsens
Agreed -- I say let him play 1 more season in Bingo. He needs to play not warm the bench.
Hire a UFA goalie to backup Anderson for 1 yr -- maybe McBackup -- then Lehner comes in 2012-2013... provided there is no lockout.
Thanks to the Binghamton fans for their hospitality.
I did not see the hit -- but Cowen was elbowed in the head by Patrick O'Sullivan.
Suspected concussion -- I read today.
In other words... he would be out for the next two games.
