You have got to admire the fight shown by this Binghamton team. They looked like they were down and out with the series at 3-1 but with Lehner between the pipes they were able to battle all the way back.
All four of their wins in this series came in overtime.
Ryan Potulny, a slick deadline pick up by Bryan Murray, has been paying huge dividends in the AHL playoffs. Five more points tonight to give him a league leading 14 in the playoffs so far. Bingo should start to get some bodies back now in time for their next series which could include leading scorer Corey Locke.
Bingo now moves on to play the Atlantic Division's top team in the Portland Pirates in Round 2 of the Calder Cup playoffs.
GO BSENS GO!
GO BSENS GO!
How about Potulny for a late season pickup? Will this guy ever get a sniff at the NHL? He has been amazingly clutch for Bingo in the post-season.
He played a full season for edm a couple years back and did pretty well
He may have a chance to crack the lineup next season...
ROAD TRIP.....
Yep. Working on that! Wanted to wait until I had some more details. Trying to see if there is any interest from the Sens org to get involved.
Thats awesome! If I didn't have exams right now, I would be making the same road trip.
It must be so exciting to see them play. Definitely a huge dream for any sens fan.
Up 3-0 and 4-1....unreal comeback series.
Way to go B-Sens!
(Next time, a bunch of 3-1 wins will do...)
Hopefully they get a couple D back for next round...they were playing w 5 D men last 2 games (~9 periods in last 2 nights)
there's a reason however, for the fact that he's bounced around for 8 years around the A and the pros.

His skating was noticeably bad when he got here, but our coaches down in bingo are pumping-out pretty smooth skaters. I see him cracking the sens lineup next year. It should make a good competition with DaCosta at centre (older guy with exp. and midlevel talent Vs. Younger guy with higher potential, but no exp.)
Jason, If you look at his stats, and the rosters he was playing for, the story pretty much tells itself. He played a decent rookie 'season' for philly, But then got the shaft after only 7 games and was buried in the minors.
In EDM he did admirably.
On Chicago.... Common, its Chicago, They were so stacked I doubt he got 5 mins a game.
I think the Edmonton season is the best indicator of his true skill.
We might have picked up a 20-goal guy here.
Something about a conditional pick if we choose to resign Potulny??
Best scenario is Murray resigning him to a two way contract, and give him the opportunity to make the team. Who knows, he could make for a solid 3rd or 4th line centre. I don't see why he can't do just as good if not better than Winchester/Smith.
If anything, as PCopper said, he becomes one of the primary guys down in Bingo who gets called up when needed, à la Dustin Jeffrey [for Pittsburgh]. Has NHL potential though, without a doubt.
Glad to see Bingo advance, at least the minor-league team is doing its job.
I stumbled across some discounts and info about the next series

Not sure about that... the trade was Campoli and a CONDITIONAL 7th round pick for a 2nd round pick & Potulny.
If I remember Murray saying.. that conditional pick is only given to Chicago IF Murray re-signs Potulny.
Personally I think he is definitely worth a 7th round pick..
Very impressed by the play of Potulny.
Yeah, thats what I thought the deal was too.. hard to find what the conditions of Conditional picks are...
CHIRRPPP!!!
we need your expertise.
"The Hawks will get the Senators' seventh-round pick in 2012 if Potulny spends at least one day on Ottawa's roster during the 2011-12 season"
http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=554508
Okay I guess I got that wrong... so it's in 2012 not this year...He will probably play at least one game in the NHL next season.. as we know the Sens can't stay healthy.
Why does everyone want them to win, we have their first this year
would u rather
Solid 1st and solid 3rd
or
shitty 1st and shitty second
In all likelihood, Murray is going to trade up with the NSH pick. If we get the 1st and 2nd or 1st and 3rd, we can trade them straight up and the outcome will look like this
Fisher for really good 1st rounder
If we don't get the 2nd/3rd round pick, then we have to give something from our own assets to move up. Or,
Fisher + one of our other picks for Really good 1st rounder
In the Trade-up Scenario, the further NSH goes, the more FREE bargaining chips we have.
and get the extra 3rd round pick The Nashville first pick stays 21st overall (actually could improve to 17-20st overall if lower teams go to 3rd round).
If they win round 2, the 1st rounder would be 27-30th overall and the extra pick becomes a second rounder.
Lose the 1st round series and the 1st rounder would be 17-21st overall with no extra pick.
Also I'd like to give a big I told you so to all those little fools who claimed Semin wasn't a player who could perform in the playoffs. Call him soft all you want. All the guy does is put up nearly a point-a-game pace virtually always on the second line without Backstrom or Ovie to help him.
It's pretty straight forward. THere's no chance at a solid 1st rounder with the final regular season standings ... they finished too high.
It's not wanting them to win, I wanted them to miss the playoffs. But picking 19th or 25th is the same thing. So now that they are in the playoffs and winning they might as well win 2 rounds so we get the higher extra compensation pick.
I second this. So many on here ripping us for saying how it was with Semin. This guy is a star player and would be a welcome addition on any team in the league, especially the sens.
The 2nd or 3rd round pick that we will get.. will be in 2012 not this draft year.
Here are 4 names that should receive the most serious consideration:
Red Wings asst Paul MacLean. He was hired in Anaheim with Mike Babcock by then GM Bryan Murray. MacLean had an interview for the Wild job 2 yrs ago, but it didn’t go well because he’s a gruff sort of guy. But he has years of experience & is ready for his own gig.
Perry Pearn might be loath to leave Montreal. But it’s long past the time when this former Senator asst should have had his own head-coaching job.
St. Louis asst Brad Shaw has put together an impressive resumé of NHL & AHL coaching experience. It’s only a matter of time before a NHL team gives him the top spot.
Dave Farrish: Under the radar, but this 53-year-old Anaheim asst has 24 years of coaching experience in the NHL, AHL, IHL & the ECHL. It’s only a matter of time before he gets his own team.
A little pre-mature on the "I told you so". Using your logic, Semin's points in the first round don't mean anything because the the Caps were facing a Far Inferior team. Just like Huberdeau's points haven't meant anything.. Right?
Let's wait til to see what Semin does in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, against tougher opponents before we start tooting our own horns.
BTW huberdeau got another goal yesterday. toot, toot
Regardless, I have to agree with Jabs, Lucky number Semin would look real good in a sens uniform...
As would Dodo...
(Huberdeau = deau-deau = dodo.. for those of you who didnt catch it)
alls I ever said about Semin was:
Parise > Semin
Speaking of Spezza, he scored in Canada's first exhibition game today against France. Da Costa also notched one for the French team.
Chirp
I assume that game wasn't televised... is it streamed?
I would.
Even if he is not an NHLer he will make a great AHL superstar and help our prospects develop in a winning atmosphere. He and Locke deserve a hard look at camp but if they just can't cut the NHL they still have great value on the farm and the fans of Binghamton deserve their own superstars.
He is worth more than a 7th rounder to me. 2 way 2 year contract sounds great.
I think we'd have a better chance at Semin than Parise because NJ will try harder to retain ZP. Thy can buyout/trade/de mote multiple players and Parise may well be their biggest asset above even Kovalchuk. Semin, while still a star, is not the Caps top priority (Backström, Ovechkin & Green) and is coming off a short contract.
I'm just worried about what we'd have to part with.
That would be too risky for me.

Go Preds!
2012...time for them to lose next round, or the first rounder gets worse
And this is important...bec ause???
Shouldn't lowest ranked (4) Sens play Penguins (1) rather than Pirates (3)?
BTW for those who may be interested, we just beat the LA farm team, it's kinda obvious who is the Penguins' farm team and the Pirates are Buffalo's farm team.
True. we got the extra asset. time for Nasville to lose. I thought it was for this year.
I created an account with Dennis Vial before I knew there was an incorrecly spelled Denis Vial. I've been to lazy to create another. I plan on changing it.
Unless Murray can pull a sweet deal to move up in the top 10 of the draft, I hope they keep Nashville's first and the three seconds. It's the hand grenade approach to drafting. You have a better shot an uncovering that late first/second round gem.
I was away for a bit for Easter, Holy mother effer, Bingo with a near impossible comeback, and all wins in O.T. CRAZY! I said after game 4 Lehner is def gonna start Game 5 and I was very happy to hear it was him ahead of BB. No Locke, but add Potulny, and it pretty much replaces Locke's offense. Is Locke coming back? or is he done for the year?
Got to hope now, the Preds take out the Nucks, Wings or (unlikely) Kings. Go Fishy Preds Go!
I'm thinking Kirk Muller is going to be one solid NHL coach oneday, but would welcome Pearn or Shaw in a heartbeat, preferrably Shaw. (he at least had a .500 record with a bad Islanders team as interim coach in 05-06) and he has always been a leader. However BM needs to find a guy with experience, and with a ring on his finger. There's is DEFINITELY no one better for the job than Larry Robinson. If he's remotely interested in leaving the Devils BM better act on it. And if I were BM I'd go as far as giving him a call.
As for Vigneault I would have serious reservations. He ain't done shit in the playoffs. But he, like isn't going anywhere either.
But for shits and giggles.... If the new coach hired has won a Stanley Cup it will have to be either Larry Robinson : ) Marc Crawford, Ken Hitchcock, Mike Keenan, orrrrrrrr..... JEAN PERRON! Any winner recently isn't going anywhere, unless they get one unexpected shocking phone call in the next month or so.
* Just watched all O.T winning Bingo goals on youtube,,, SICK!*
Just wanted to give a quick update for now and let you know to keep watching the site for details
CHOKE CHOKE CHOKE! I called it allll along....Hawks in 7 baby! Luongo has been shook since game 4, man he cannot handle pressure at all!
CHOKE CHOKE CHOKE! Never predicted the Habs would make some noise, but it seems like that's about to end as well! BRUINS IN 6!!
