If it wasn&#39;t for Daigle and all the BS that came with drafting him, Yashin would still be a productive member of this team.<br /><br />Why did he sit out? Because a certain jackass said &quot;I&#39;m glad I got drafted first, because nobody remembers number two.&quot;, and then said jackass got paid more money than he did for doing diddly-squat. Said jackass also got a team logo in his image (the original forward-centurion), and was put on the top line above Yashin even though he wasn&#39;t producing nearly as well.<br /><br />If I was Yashin, I&#39;d have been super pissed, too. And even when we traded him, his value was still sky-high, so he didn&#39;t cost this team anything, unlike Dany Heatley. At least Yashin doesn&#39;t giggle frantically every time you ask him like, anything at all. And Yashin was a 60-80 point guy in the day at around 2.0-3.5.<br /><br />Yashin at a tryout of 1.5-2.0 would work. Spezza is not even on the Team Canada radar, he&#39;s struggling mightily without Heatley and he&#39;s starting to look like one of the worst contracts in the NHL. He&#39;s 1.2M a year when he&#39;s up here so we save cap room by keeping him down while he&#39;s hurt. In fact if you get &quot;hurt&quot; at the NHL level it&#39;s NHL dollars. So its not a surprise that his injury was only spoken up about after he was demoted.<br /><br />Also. If you are trying to trade a player like Lee. It would be important to showcase what he can do at the NHL level. That means letting him play. Not making him sit out to &quot;maintain&quot; his health. That&#39;s like saying we would have benched Heatley to make sure he was healthy and up his value. Totally ridiculous. The best thing this organization could do if they wanted to trade Lee was let him play at the NHL level and show his stuff.<br /><br />Frankly I bet he doesn&#39;t even get traded and has a future with this organization. He&#39;s an important part of that blueline depth and I think he&#39;s only going to get better. Not only that but you have to be realistic about what we could get back.
