They both are but the Sens have never sent an AHL-eligible player back to junior (that I'm aware of). So this year would be a first. But maybe that's exactly what they plan to do since there's too many forwards by about 5-6 at the moment. Agreed Hax, it might be their only option on a couple of them, which is too bad as they're the higher end prospects and Binghamton could really benefit from their inclusion.

Gee yeah forgot about him. I guess I just don't think he will fit in the top 6. The thing is.. he is not a player that works out in the off-season. If he comes into camp not in shape.. the injuries will follow. That's what happened in Minny 2 seasons ago. He came into camp overweight. If he wants a future in the NHL this would be the year to show what he has. Will benefit him and will benefit the Sens.

It's called a salary cap. Any more 'big names' going to Minny will make them a top heavy team.. with little room to fill the lineup, which really doesn't work. They need spots for those really good young prospects they have. Most, if not all, Stanley Cup winning teams have balance in all positions... I read somewhere that Minny lost over 6M last season. But I guess they signed up 2,000 more season ticket holders. Wonder what happens if this team does not make the playoffs.. in a very tight and very good Western Conference..

I agree if no further moves will be Michalek-Spezza -Silfverberg Latendresse-Tur ris-Alfie But the third line would have to be something like Greening-Regin- Hoffman(or Zibby) Condra-Smith-Ne il I really don't think that O'Brien will be there - maybe 13th forward(him or butler) SENS still need to dump some quantity for slightly beter serviceability. I still think a multiple player deal has to be made. There will be a logjam in Bingo otherwise. And this might mean you'd have a decent prospect playing the ECL - not what you'd really want for his development.

Just read through today's comments and I can't believe you guys let Tookie take over with his shit about Zbad. Tookie's been beating this Zibby topic to death ever since the development camp and news broke that Mika would have been involved in the Nash trade. None of us know how Zibanejad will end up. He may become a Henrik Zetterberg or he may be the next Mike Fisher/Chris Kelly. Anything came happen. He's going to be a good NHLer either way, and he has a hell of a lot more skill than Tookie gives him credit for. Yes he's had 2 concussions, but so what, concussions are made to be a much bigger deal today than they were in years past. Minor concussions like the ones Zibby has suffered recently aren't much of a big deal at all.

Yeah not sure if you guys saw the ESPN article about Parise and Suter... "I think at the end of the day, hopefully, with Ryan and I coming here, good players want to play with good players," Parise said Monday when he was introduced along with Suter at a press conference. "Hopefully that helps influence some people if they need some and we have a lot of friends around the league so hopefully that will help, too." http://espn.go.com/nhl/story/_/id/8144783/new-wild-players-zach-parise-ryan-suter-want-make-minnesota-place-be We've gotta keep hoping. If stars want to come here, it's up to Murray and Co., as well as former players, to convince them to come here. A good way to start is by drafting, and developing stars (i.e Karlsson, MZ, Lehner), and retaining them. That or prying former 67 players *cough* Logan Couture *cough* away!

Assuming the following opening night lineup for the NHL: Michalek - Spezza - Silfverburg Latendresse - Turris - Alfie Greening - Smith - Neil Regin - O'Brien - Condra Butler/Daugavin s Cowen - Karlsson Methot - Gonchar Phillips - Borowiecki Lundin Anderson Bishop What do people think our AHL lineup will look like this year? Seems like we already have too many players signed for bingo. I believe Noesen, Puempel and Pageau have to go back to CHL, and Prince could go back as an overager, is that correct? Petersson - Da Costa - Stone Hoffman - Prince - Zibanejad Schneider - Cannone - Grant Dziurzynski - Jessiman - Cowick Hamilton/Kramer /Culek/Caporrus o Benoit - Wiercioch Gryba - Claesson Eckford - Wideman Blood Lehner ? Plenty of options that's for sure! Does anyone who watched Bingo play a bit more last year have any lines or combos they liked the chemistry of?

[quote name="David_Sen sFan"]OH MY GOD!!! What a huge move by our Sens!!! Probably the hugest one since Mike Lundin!!! Is it me or i would like to be a Wild's fan today??? Probably only because i am so dissapointed about july 1st. So, Forget Nash (don't want to come in Ottawa) Forget Ryan (price too high) Forget Semin (russian player who wants big $$$) Forget Doan ( no interest from him) Forget Morrow ( price too high) Is it the big splash we were supposed to make this summer???? --------------- --------------- --------------- --------- Explain to me when Murray said the Sens were going to make a big splash this summer. He said they wanted to get a top 4 defensive defenseman... which he did get. Not the star-studded D you were probably hoping for... but a decent one in Methot. He also said they wanted a top 6 forward.. which they have yet to require. Nash was an option -- at a cost of the future if Lehner was going the other way... but thankfully for this Sens fan -- he would not waive his NTC to come to Ottawa. You know what... the Sens are in year 2 of a re-build. There is no Stanley Cup run this year.. but if Murray and his management remain patient for the next couple of years and give the young guys time to develop.. you never know. I got an idea.. you like what the Wild did.. then go cheer for them. After all signing Parise & Suter make them Stanley Cup favourites in your mind.. right? Guess again?

Junior, league of 68 regular season games. zib has never played that many regular season games in 1 league in his career.. lando only went a career 0.98ppg in junior (112 in 114). in the exact time, zib was putting up ppg in some of the leagues at the same age on international ice.. look, im not trying to sell you that zib is better than lando. lando was drafted way higher for a reason. but im just proving you wrong when you say* zib doesnt have the hands/skill for top 6. he does. how many clutch goals has lando scored?

Especially stats from different leagues in different countries with different styles of play and different size rinks. You're a joke

9 NHL games played on the top 6, 1pt...thats a 0.012pt pace in a 82 game season...lol. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Karlsson had 0 pts in his first 9 games when he was a rookie (and a year older). How'd he turn out again? Sorry I didnt know Zibanejad was a defensman named Karlsson.....si gh... But Zibanejad is apparently a forward named Landeskog, so we can compare them right? I didnt compare them I was against it, read up son. You wanna compare Zib to someone, compare him to Forsberg and Collberg, all 3 of them have the same style of play and skill set. See which one of those 3 turn out to be better in a year or 2? I'm out now so dont bleed out while I drive home, saying I'm the one on the rag, geez.. Haters gonna hate!

You got to be kidding me right? Comparing Zib to Lando...sigh Lando has a 2.00 PPG avg at the WJC compared to Zib's 0.83. Lando was Assistant Captain of the Swedish Men's WC team at 19! (which had Alfie, Zetterberg, Eriksson to name a few...) Lando is already a young proven player in the NHL, I give it a year or 2 until he's captain of the Avalanche. Theres just no comparing the two, Zib has more flash but Lando is a born leader. im not comparing who is a better leader.. you are doing it again tooks... yes lando had a 2.0 ppg but it was 2points in 1 game. zib had 5 points in 6games.. for about a year now, ive honestly respected your opinions because although to some you are too negative, you are just being realistic. maybe its just the off season.. zib had slightly better stats (points per game) in every single tournament/leag ue except j18 elite because he played 9games more.. Lando came over to play NA style hockey in Kitchener and was a pretty damn good player there, his stats there are way better than any stats Zib put up.
Seriously though. What is the matter with you? Zibanejad played on the worst team in the league. These stats prove fuck all. Did Silfverberg eat it up his first two years in the SEL?..hell no! Stop relying on stats so damn much. You think scouts do this?? But at that aside... It's ok to think he may not be a superstar or something but why do you hate so damn hard in him. Why do you think you know more about hockey then just about every professional out there. I just don't get the need to put him down so much. Seriously buddy you have something wrong with you. You're not discussing the Sens you're just putting them down over and over again. Your posts are so frustrating to read because you clearly know fuck all and all you do is go on random rants. Can't you get the hint that you ACTUALLY "know nothing about hockey" when 95% of your posts bother people so much they feel the need to chirp you? I don't even know you and I want to beat your face in!!

i'm excited for zbad. i think he will be great. a while ago someone commented that turris being around made zbad redundant. i completely disagree. maybe im wrong but i think the idea of players only being able to excel on the top 6 is incorrect. i think the opportunities are less available but hard working, hitting and scoring 3rd liners are depth assets that teams hope to develop. (i say develop because they often leave and become highly paid unaffordable 2nd and 1st liners as they grow up) so i believe if turris continues to improve and zbad proves he is worth a shot in the nhl soon i see no problem with him on the 3rd line. and it appears he is so versatile that if being on the 3rd line does slow him down he can move to the wings along turris or spezza.

The only one that matters is this one and thx for proving my point. In terms of SEL NHL drafted prospects MZ finished 15th in scoring haha awesome tookie. Yet again you forget to acknowledge that he finsihed 7th in point per game (since he missed nearly 20 games for concussion/Worl d Jrs. And its funny how you expect him to be able to produce as many points in a mens league as 25 year old prospects who probably will never make it in the NHL. "what do you mean he is not better than players who have been around longer? dammit he was drafted he should succeed immediately!!!" - Tookie PoV So 7th in PPG is good? ok if you say so. Also, he's not even best in his age class, is he not. Its a simple answer really. "But he's a Sens draft pick, he's going to be great down the road, he has to, Sens Management doesnt make mistakes, flawless record..." Alcatraz PoV

Care to provide your input? I just did, Zbad is 15th in NHL drafted SEL players, I dont have to say anything more.
Actually he is striving on the smaller surface, and struggles on the bigger one He was player of tournament at the U-17 tournament in Timmins On last year, and he said his success comes from the smaller surface being a better suited size for his style of play It was based off that tournament that saw his draft stock rise drastically into a surefire top 10 pick

The Sens still need to find another goalie for Binghamton since McKenna left. They must be nearing the 50 contracts limit? They still have too many forwards... not sure what they will do if that can't do quantity for quality. As for Mika.. I'm willing to give him a chance to get used to the smaller ice surface and faster pace of the North American game. Pageau & Prince have played on the smaller ice surfaces since they started playing hockey -- so right now you can't compare the 3. Let's give Mika a chance to adjust before trying to compare him to other prospects from North America?

The only one that matters is this one and thx for proving my point. In terms of SEL NHL drafted prospects MZ finished 15th in scoring haha awesome tookie. Yet again you forget to acknowledge that he finsihed 7th in point per game (since he missed nearly 20 games for concussion/Worl d Jrs. And its funny how you expect him to be able to produce as many points in a mens league as 25 year old prospects who probably will never make it in the NHL. Basically your saying that Turris is useless since he isn't outscoring Spezza and Crosby "what do you mean he is not better than players who have been around longer? dammit he was drafted he should succeed immediately!!!" - Tookie PoV

Eckford is just what we need a terrible signing what is Murray doing the missing piece of the puzzle a waste of a jersey nothing more than a depth signing a solid depth move proof that Murray dropped the ball when all those stars signed elsewhere somewhere in between *please delete as appropriate It's news.
From HF: 2009-10: Eckford continued his strong play with Lowell, scoring 31 points with the AHL team. He would also dress in three games with New Jersey, registering one assist. Talent Analysis The most noticeable improvement about Eckford this season was his added size and strength. His added strength on his skates made him more powerful, yet allowed him to maintain his speed and mobility. It has also allowed him to be more effective in his one-on-one play in addition to being more physically aggressive. Eckford, a converted forward-to-defe nseman, possesses great puck skills. His superb ability to distribute the puck smartly and effectively has made him a mainstay on the Nanooks power play. Eckford has great on-ice vision and awareness. He has little trouble finding and getting passes to open teammates. He can make some really nice tape-to-tape passes and sets up his teammates remarkably well. He loves to join the play and this season also saw some marked improvement in his transition game. Future Eckford has progressed exponentially since being drafted way back in 2004. He's become stronger, and has the offensive upside to contribute at the next level. Should b e ready to challenge for a spot full time in 2010-11. Sounds like a solid depth move...

Hello Everyone, I've been reading but haven't been making comments... 1) I believe the NTC should be used in the case where a player accepts less money to play on your team... Therefore you give him a NTC... For Chris Neil for example... 2) About Zbad... I think the Sens have a particularly good development program... I think the Sens can take average players like Winchester and make them effective at the NHL level... I have no doubt that the Sens will develop Zbad to be a top notch player... The issue is time... Is it this year or next? 3) Gonchar... I thought Gonchar had a particularly good playoff... I thought he played great... I don't understand why anyone would want to trade him... He is an elite player... Yeah, he mostly sucked during the season, and was useless on power play, but in the playoffs, he was exceptional... 4) Murray is doing a really good job at creating internal competition... He treats everyone with respect... And so he gets it back in return... Murray is making good value moves... The thing the sens need to avoid is bad contracts... They need to get good value for their money, which he is doing... cheers

I think the reason he was on the 3rd line is because Philly is so deep at Centre, not because he's a career 3rd liner. Plus he's a rookie, gotta earn your ice time playing on a team like the flyers. On a team like Edmonton (minus RNH), Couturier would have been playing top line Centre minutes. On a team line Ottawa, 2nd line. I do prefer having Turris to Courturier, for now. That may change, but I doubt it, Turris has got to be the most underrated Senator at the moment. hahaha apparently you've never tried to write or fix typos on Senschirp using Android phones... its hell Thats weird...I use an HTC One S, and have never had problems with typing or viewing things on Senschirp. It even adjusts the text to fit the screen when I zoom in. It might be the type of phone that you use? I'm guessing its a samsung? And btw, its probably just the browser.
I didn't like the voting aspect of it because it seemed to me that people were voting more on whether they liked the subject matter as opposed to how the article was written and whether it added anything to the site. For example an article saying Alfie is great and should get into the HHOL is likely to get a more positive response than one saying Bryan Burke is a misunderstood genius - but it doesn't always follow that the Alfie article would be the better written one. We should just leave it to Chirp to pick something that he is happy posting on his site. his ball, his rules. I agree that the Tom says section has been a bit of a miss, but I think that's mainly because he appears to have written about 4 articles in a year, no idea of course why that has been the case but i was expecting something far more frequent

I think last year's time saver idea of posting contributing articles that we got to vote on was a good idea. Dictate the pace of the comments Only thing was that Toms rarely contributed throughout the year (not sure if it was supply or demand) Anyways something along that would be good to spark some interest Ideally we need to get away from hypotethical trades and prospect evaluation Why don't we just analyze othe rteams prospects for a change. How about strome and niedereitter!

Its a blog with a comment section, Chirp gives us a topic and we discuss...now during the off season, not much to talk about so shit goes nuts sometimes, but its all good. If you dont like it get the F out bro, we dont need morons like you bashing our fav blog. SC has done a remarkable job trying to keep us fans happy with very little to work with. i think senswillkickass should be applauded for provoking the most positive response I have ever seen from Tookie.
