It's amazing to see him come back defensively as well. His instincts in both ends of the rink are incredible. On the odd man rush late in the 2nd (i think) he came back and took away the pass to help out Gonchar. Terrific game by Turris. As for the game... What more can be said about Karlsson? the kid is a phenom. Watching him outmuscle and outwork Boyle (6'7'' 240lbs) in the corner was something else. Not only did he strip him of the puck and then make a nice outlet pass, but he actually hammered in the corner in the process. His ability to jump infront of players, lift their stick, and skate away is next level. And Spezza? Well, let's just say I'm glad I had his back all these years and defended him on every board.

MTL said they wanted to add size, and get bigger by trading for Bourque. I'm sure if BM had known Mike Cammalleri was on the market, we could have traded Carkner to the Habs!
Turris has yet to have a bad game as a Senator. If he's not producing offensively, he's winning faceoffs and playing great without the puck. He's only going to get better. We won't know for years how that trade pans out but right now it's heavily in Ottawa's favor. I'm pretty sure not many people are missing Rundblad right now.

count me in the camp of people that thought Kuba would bounce back. he really seemed to be a much better player over the final 20 last year but people had already made up their mind. I would have no issues moving Kuba at the deadline but based on Murays recent comments, I can't see them moving a guy that has overcome being booed in the season opener to play as our #2 D. Who knows... Carolina won the cup in a year where every other team shit the bed and so did the Habs. Clearly this team will be doubted until they are knocked out but alot of other teams seem to be removing themselves through injuries, bad goaltending and poor management. Can't help but wonder if Murray smells blood in the water.

Perfect example is Kuba in Ottawa. At this time last year there weren't many people who thought he'd ever be worth anything again. Many of those same fans suggested we waive him over the summer just to get rid of half the salary. A small group of others myself included figured it might be better to just hold onto him and see if he can up his value for this years deadline. Ironically now Ottawa isn't really in the position to deal Kuba. Unless I suppose some team that wants to dump salary steps up and offers a similar D-Man with 2-3 years left on his deal + a decent pick or prospect in exchange for Kuba. That might be a good fit for Ottawa if Murray can make it happen. Hard to make the team worse in any way though knowing how old Alfie is and how few shots he has left - as much of a long-shot as it will be this year.

Fair enough, but I ask you this... Do you believe that's the best deal they could have received for Cammalleri? It seemed like a pretty sudden move. Just like when Halak was traded to St Louis, this trade just doesn't seem like enough to me. I love it though. I enjoy watching that organization go down in flames. No I don't think it's the best deal for Montreal at all really. Probably better to wait it out to the deadline and hope Cammy improves his play. That could have boosted his value significantly. Still a potentially high 2nd, average prospect, and a decent goal scorer with size capable of hitting 50 points for half the price isn't a terrible deal. That extra 3.0M could help Montreal improve the team in other ways come summer. Montreal is probably still a few years away from admitting they need to blow it up and rebuild. Until that happens they'll probably patch the leaky ship like Ottawa did for a few years with stop-gap UFA's like Kovalev.

"The Ottawa Senators are one of the hottest teams in the entire NHL" Correction: The Ottawa Senators ARE the hottest team in the NHL. When a team that was slated to finish 15th in the conference is in a playoff spot half way through the season, on a 7-0-1 record in a tough mid season stretch and taking down all the big dogs, then the writing is pretty much on the wall.
seriously dude? dunno what game you are watching but the rangers have yet to get a quality chance to me, most of their shots are perimeter chances and anderson is gobbling it up. and if you dont blv me, just ask john tortorella, he has the mixer on with his lines and has benched both richards and anisimov for extended periods. not to mention rangers got 3 or 4 powerplays. sens just scored on their second PP. I do agree theyre shots havent been high pecentage, but defensively the Sens havent been great. They need to be better, especially if they plan to compete in the playoffs. That being said, it's been an excellent road game against a team that has one five straight. Personally the Rangers aint that great. nice to see the usual suspects step up tonight especially Andy.
