//Here's another fun fact, Price, Roy and Bell got their team to the playoffs, something Lehner was struggling with, when he did play in the season. Yeah, right, Price took his team to playoffs by playing 2 games in 06-07 regular season. Roy played 1 single game in 84-85 regular season. "Facts" you were saying?
Johne, I think you did a great job on the car commercial - so did the other one yesterday can't remember who unfortunately. People don't get upset at TOOKIE he's a broken hearted LEAF FAN who has to come and wizz all over our special moment. Loved the game last night and the effort these guys put in. Butler is going to be a STUD - he can skate and like Heatley don't give him an open shot cuz it's in. Unlike HEATLEY as I said before HE CAN SKATE and isn't a JERKOFF. Da Costa will be another STUD in a year or so + mark my words like LEHNER - MIKE HOFFMAN had a rough ride this year but he will be a gem(top 6 potential with this guy - just ask Gerrard gallant). He always takes time to adjust to a new level of competition. + We've got 6 picks in the top 65. So TOOKIE on that note BUZZOFF - the FUTURE is BRIGHT!

I really do not like the Rookie new NHL coach. It has failed and as much as I love Murray as a talent genius, he has alway gone with coaches that he will be able to control. We need a coach that will call all the shots, and will not be intimidated by anyone else above or below him. BM has alway hired coaches that would not be confrontational , and sometimes I believe that some of BM's choices should have been sat ie Kuba, Gonchar, Leclaire, and ever Gerber. Someone with NHL pedigree will sit veterans when they have to...IMO of course, but I may be wrong

Tookie, you're a donkey. Seriously. You point to historical precedent, it's a worthless comparision. Every team is different, so I don't think it even warrants discussion to compare this team to others that have won the Calder Cup. Try to base your assessment of the team on what they actually are. You're 100% correct that they are lacking in top-6 prospects. They have one for sure, any MAYBE two if DaCosta is that guy. But I'm sure that they will be addressing that at the draft. On top of that, how many top-6 players do they actually need? I figure that they have three with significant NHL experience if Alfie is healthy, and all signs point to Butler making the jump next year. So, if they manage to draft a top-6 guy who is capable of making the jump, then they just need one more. Your problem is that you want to put every player in a silo. You can't do that, it's not an accurate assessment of the team.

Congrats to the Bsens and to the city of Binghamton. Party hardy Amigos! It will be a very exciting camp this fall. New coach and lots of kids banging on the door to the Big Sens lineup. Show me at any point where I say winning the Calder Cup is not a good thing...show me. Im simply stating facts that we dont have any top 6 talent in Bingo, right now, save Butler. And as for comparing Mike Green/John Carlson to Cowen is just funny, Cowen isnt even the same type of defenseman.
Tookie, Winning helps at any level. Cowen now had a Memorial Cup and a Calder Cup (even though he came in late). It sure helps Lehner being put in pressure situations. Did you hear his interview after? He said it was "the biggest thing that ever happened for me, I can't describe how much this team means to me". Also, fun fact for you... Lehner is the 4th teenaged goalie to win the CalderCup, following Carey Price (2007), Patrick Roy (1985) and Gordie Bell (1943) That's some good company.

Only a bored anti-social troll could shit on hockey fans getting excited about their prospects acheiving their ultimate goal.
@tookie, ok I get it, I get your game, you are only here to stir it up, so I will try to be civil... Sens fan or not, anyone who knows anything about hockey, will tell you that a good farm system will help to lead plenty of depth to an organization and ultimately to a strong NHL team, but you are arguing that is not true, Really???. Knuble, Green, Burrows, Ladd, Bieksa, Kesler, Chara, Bergeron, Sharp, Keith, Price, and on, and on, the list goes, that spent considerable time in the AHL, and went on to shine in the NHL, are those facts enough for you? Lehner did not just win a Playoff, he won 14 games to win the Calder Cup, and yes he lead his team, which is why he won the Playoff MVP AT 19 YEARS OF AGE!!!
Why are you talking about Atlanta? Atlanta is gone man, done, finished, over, goodbye and so long! And they have some decent talent on that team, they are completely shit out of luck in Winnipeg right now. Pavalec had a break out season last year and you have guys like Big Buff, Ladd, Kane, Enstrom, etc...They shit the bed the 2nd half of last year but don't be surprised to see them in playoff contention this year... What does that have to do with the AHL? Nothing I suppose but at least some of our prospects are getting a taste of being a winner? Isn't that what you always say about Spezza, he never won anything? Whats to say that Butler/Greening /Cowen/Condra (who all didn't spend a full season in the AHL) isnt Johansson/Carls on/Green?? Look at any scouting report, from any scout (which are experts by the way) from any of our Bingo prospects and NONE of them, none save Butler projects as being a top 6. What is so bright in that?
Completely agree ... they just shouldn't rush him. Let him lead the BSens for an entire season and hopefully another strong playoff run. Then give him a shot. Montreal rushed Price and came perilously close to losing him. A couple of years later, Price is the goalie they always thought he could be. We've got Mr. Anderson. Let's give Robin time to develop ... he's a keeper. [pun intended]

Congrats to Bingo, well done! Now to unleash the dogs, why are people saying "bright future" winning a Calder Cup rarely equate to NHL success, just take a look at the Chicago Wolves, affiliate to the Atlanta Thrashers, 2 championships recently and their future still looks terrible...In fact so terrible that they are now in tough and about to lose their team. I know what your gonna say, but the Hersey Bears, 11 time Calder Cup champs are the affiliate to the Washington Capitals, which have a nice future and a great team right now. Thats true but how many key players actually come from the Hershey club....exactly ...Ovechkin, Semin, Backstrom, Johansson, Green, Carlson. Only guys I can think of is Neuvirth/Varlam ov which are bot underachievers and Laich. The Bulldogs won it aslo, the affiliate of the Habs and look where the Habs are, not very good, like the Leafs, stuck in that 7th, 8th, 9th spot every year.

I'm not afraid to say it guys; I honestly think in the 19 years of the Senators franchise, the Ottawa Senators have finally found their legitimate franchise goaltender that will help this team for years and years to come. Too many failed attempts have been made to provide a goalie for the pro club, and I think that since drafted in the second round of 2009, the Ottawa Senators have a goalie they can call theirs. Look forward to seeing his progression. Robin Lehner's going to be a great goalie.

Congrats Bingo, and absolutely as Sens fans we ought to be rejoicing. There success had much to do with our big league future stars: Lehner playoff MVP and all deserved, he is for real, confident, he will be a star Butler - over 100 games this year and he is proving he can score in any league Smith - a meaner Chris Kelly, at the same age not much difference between the two Condra - very intellegent player and will find a spot with us on the 3rd or 4th line Cowen - first taste of professional hockey and logging 30 minutes Greening, Gyrba The list goes on, and the Ottawa training camp will be better then some of the games we have struggled through the past couple of years I hope Winchester, Regin, Foligno, Kuba, were watching these winners...boys watch your back these guys are coming after your jobs!
I am so glad I made the trip down to watch the BSens Championship team live! I think an AHL Championship could help sign NHL free agents as it shows depth in the organization. One guy that stood out for me is Kaspars Daugavins. If the Sens are looking for a solid 3rd/4th line grinder with some speed and skill, he could be the man. He could be good on PK too. Zack, Butler, and Greening are ready...no doubt. I'd give Cowen 1 more full year in AHL..especially since there is no rush with the number of NHL defence we currently have. As for Locke, who knows? could be a Denis Hamel...score a tone at AHL and never really crack NHL. I obviously don't know the whole story with Corey...there must be something. I've always said that I'd like to see him get solid minutes over a 10 game span. Let him get in a groove. Still impressed with Bass, but think he is the heart and soul of Bingo and most likely future Captain there.

Robin Lehner saved our post-season. Thanks to Leclaire's injuries Robin spent most of the season driving back and forth from the nhl to the ahl, to practice, then sit on the bench. He only got half the games we wanted him to this year. He hadn't played in 2 weeks and they threw him into the fire with the team down 3-1 facing elimination. Won 3 straight overtimes including a 51 of 52 save performance in game 6 where he stopped a penalty shot! He put this team on his shoulders and never looked back. He just needs to spend the next couple of years working on the details of his game and playing a ton for experience. LEHNER! LEHNER! LEHNER!

I'll repeat what I read off the lips off of every Sens player FUCKINNNNNN RIIIIGGGHHHHHHH HTTTTTTT!!!! What poise by the boys to stick to their gameplan the whole game, even despite at one point being down 2-1. Lehner was simply amazing and couldn't be blamed for the 2 that got by him. That diving save in the 1st.... Unfuckingbeliev able!! and yes Kinrade definitely prevented O.T (which we would have won anyway) I don't know how many watched on Sportsnet Sens but GOD that color commentary dude was fuckin awful and couldn't have been more of a Homer. Laughed at him all night. The play by play guy was decent but definitely no Grady, I missed Grady BIGTIME! Bingo Iced a solid line-up back to front, and I'm happy Hoffman managed to crack the top 9 and stay there. Training camp should be interesting... VEERRRRRRYYYY interesting Next order of business DRAFT DAY! I call that BM makes at least 2 deals. Congrats B-Sens!!!

AWESOME!!! Having followed the team the entire year and highlighted by our recent trip it really makes you feel a part of it. As pointed out I'm extremely happy for the fans as they really treated us well while there. The future looks bright and now we can look forward to the draft. Very impressed with Lehner's development the job KK did. I don't know Paul Maclean but definitely think he has to be considered for the head coaching job.

Great job by the B-sens and what a showing by Lehner this year. Really nice to see him bounce back to the star we all know he can be after a very trying 1st half of the season. For all the negative press he received, it's great to see his on ice composure in the face of adversity and some great competition. Looking forward to a very competitive training camp in the fall at all positions. GO SENS GO!

Well ladies and gentlemen ... this is a lesson that you need to give young players time, he was 18 at the time for heaven sakes! Get excited bcuz you got him for the whole next season.
In a season where just about everything went wrong FINALLY something went right for the Senators. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine the run the boys would go on. It gives such a great feeling to know that these, well, men will be representing our organization either this year or the next and are building blocks to the future. It's hard to believe too that this team that won tonight was the same team that I saw at the Rookie Tournament that was held here in London in September. Amazing. I'm wildly optimistic about the future of our organization going forward as well. Get ready for the next part of the ride fellow Sens fans. I also hope as a part of the 20th anniversary celebrations they honour this team. A great part of the next 20yrs.

Wow, what an incredible run by a young team. This is such a huge deal for the Ottawa Senators organization. After such a long disappointing season, this is a very bright light at the end of the tunnel. Perhaps the most exciting part of this is the 19 year old kid between the pipes that just won AHL playoff MVP. Lehner is only going to get better and I am extremely excited that the organization might finally have the franchise goalie we've always lacked. WAY TO GO BINGO!!!!!!!!!! !
