Bingo has no decent defensive d playing. Schira/Kinrade are the only players who play decent level defensive game and Schira is comng off and injury. Weircioch/Benoi t/Columne??/are very weak on the back end. I could see Wiercioch being moved, he is terrible defensively and not good enough offensively.

Back on topic... The rankings are so volatile that I really can't see Murray trade one or both of our 1st round picks to move up. Too risky. I'm quite comfortable with the 6th pick... I would even go as far as saying the 6th pick is probably better than the 4th pick for Murray's sake! Why? It's essentially the same pick but with less pressure ;)

I want Landeskog or Strome. NOBODY ELSE with that 1st pick. Couturier has had a lazy year, his skating is lack luster and he floats sometimes. As a result his ranking has dropped and rightfully so. Huberdeau is also QMJL. Thats a league with no defense and i dont care about high ceilings. If you're from the Q forget your ceiling! Your offense might not even translate at the nhl against good defense. DONT TAKE anyone from the QMJL with that 1st selection. WE NEE LANDESKOG OR STROME. NOBODY ELSE.

I say let the 6th overall stay where it is. Try to trade up with the Nashville pick... it may not 'cost' as much as trying to trade into the top 3 with the 6th overall. Hopefully keep 2 of the 2nd rounders... and keep drafting forwards... and at least 1 goaltender. We do need a young goaltender to be ready in about 5 - 6 yrs to play with Lehner. Fisher is doing great in the playoffs... too bad he was injured for the last couple of playoffs the Sens were in. Best of luck Mike. Go Wings... Detroit is my second favorite team. Go Kings... demolish those Sharks.

With the final rankings, and assuming we are avoiding D, I'd like to see the sens either move up to get RNH or Landeskog, or just take Strome/Huberdea u/Couturier at 6. I personally don't see it as worthwhile to move up for those last 3 though. Strome is a pretty good consolation prize at 6th though if it were to go that route.

I wouldn't be against the idea of trading up with the Nashville pick, especially if we end up getting the conditional second next year.
I think the team most affected by the cap next season will be San Jose They have 51+ million commited, with 5 forwards (including setoguchi) and 2-4 defencemen to sign (depending on how comfortable they are with low salaried rookies taking up their 5/6 spots).. it's going to be a tight squeeze. Might be the perfect time to make a pitch for Seto, Clowe, or pavelski (ya, right!)

I think the Sens should stay put and draft at the 6 spot. I mean Landeskog's numbers are comparable to Matt Puempel's: LANDESKOG, GABRIEL OHL 11/23/92 6' 0.5" 207 LW 53 36 30 66 61 .... PUEMPEL, MATT OHL 01/24/93 6' 0.25" 196 LW 55 34 35 69 49... Now I know stats aren't everything and I haven't watched both play to make the most informed decision (I know some here just look for a reason to attack), I just don't agree with trading our nashville pick and/or Patrich Weircoch to move up 3 spots.....not worth it

Sens have five picks in the first two rounds, they should get some pretty good prospects in there. Obviously they're going to take their chances in trading up. As for the later rounds, I think they should take a look at Jean-Gabriel Pageau from the Gatineau Olympiques if he's still available in the third round.

@BlackTerror I'm hoping Cowen and Rundblad play for the Sens next year - forget the Calder. As for the draft, as a follower of all thing drafts, this will be an interesting year. In my opinion, RNH is the top guy - speed, hands, hockey IQ ... but he's smallish. Then there's Larsson ... a steady, more or less stay at home D man - really what the Oil need. It depends however on what they want to do - if it's to put fans in the seats then it's RNH. As for 3rd, Landeskog is better overall than Couturier. Upside is a question mark. I'd like to see the Sens move up and grab him at 3 - I don't see him being drafted before 3rd overall. 4th - Hamilton really came into his own this year. Note: he comes from a sports family - father won a rowing medal, mother played basketball and brother was drafted by SJ - in the 7th I think. It really depends on need in terms of who gets taken where. At 5, Murphy is a really talented offensive D man. And at 6, I see the Sens taking Strome.

Probably dreaming but...I think both Jersey and the Islanders may go defense based on team needs (Jersey should for sure). If Larsson gets picked by one of the top 3, that would leave Couturier/Strom e/Huberdeau for the Sens at 6. Imagine if things played out like this: 1) Larsson/RNH 2) RNH/Larsson 3) Couturier/Huber deau 4) Hamilton 5) Murphy 6) Landeskog Dare to dream...

Is it just me or is this the most reasonable, agreeable thread ever?! Couturier's been all over the place from 1st-6th over the last year. Interesting to see Hamilton and Murray up above both Huberdeau and Strome. We never talk about them here because we're highly unlikely to take a D man, but they could affect our plans drastically (ie it would be a shame to trade up a few spots to get a guy, only to have him be available at 6th because both these D get picked).

Every time I see another ranking, it reinforces my belief that we shouldn't part with any significant assets to move up...not even someone like PW. In 5-10 years, the best player from this draft could be the #1 pick, but it could just as easily be 2-8...

The differences between this list and all of the other lists is validation enough that drafting 6th overall might end up yielding the player that Ottawa wants anyway. And none of that matters, because regardless of who goes where at this year's draft, David Rundblad is going to win the Calder next season.

There has been a lot of movement in the player rankings among the various lists. It would be very interesting to see the individual team lists. I think this is pointing to a very volatile 1st round of the draft. Teams could be trading up or down to get their preferred player.
