Credit where it's due, Yost is a good writer, so is Chirp. Though it's unfortunate he won't be joining Chirp, it's really no big deal either way. I like what both guys bring to me as a reader, and both provide readers with different things. Nobody can take away from Chirp what he's built with concerns to an intelligent blogger community that cares deeply about the Sens. Yost has a bit more speculative depth, but could he do what Chirp has done here? I have my doubts. The only difference for me in the end is that I'm still 5-6 clicks away from my two favourite sources for all things Sens. If it ain't broke, don't fix it...goes for both parties in this particular instance. Let it be!

I think we're arguing past each other a little bit. Im not trying to compare the two, just an example to point out that unless he can produce offensively, no dice on the top 6. I fully agree that much of the stuff we read online is crap, but in the end, if im drafting in the top 10, im looking for the guy who is most likely to turn into the top line forward or top pairing D. Not the safe pick that might become a 2nd liner. If the online info and random sites are wrong and he does have the potential to score points, then with his other attributes, i would gladly take him top 10

Let's just assume I'm going along with you for the ride... But Fisher is a great skater with no hands. Zibanejad 'may' not be the greatest skater (I have grown to distrust scouting reports in this area), but he has good hands. He has size, but probably not the most physical player in the world. See... two completely different players. But you're entitled to your opinion, only time will tell.

Haha clearly none of us are in a position to have much of an informed opinion, but when I think of a guy who is said to have not great speed and some hands (obviously just online reading), I see him as potentially putting up 20G 25A if all goes well. The point in comparing him to fisher was that those numbers are pretty similar to fisher's and fisher played a great defensive and physical game. Therefore, even if Zibanejad plays very well defensively (which he supposedly does) and hits, he still wont be any further ahead of fisher (a great 3rd line center) unless he can get more points

Oh please Murry, don't even CONSIDER trading Rundblad. I'd be more apt to seeing Cowen go, but even then I like the stock of young D we have in our system. Rundblad just took D of the year in the Swedish Elite league, 3rd in overall scoring. In my Eyes, one of the best moves Murry made since joining the Sens organization. That and drafting Karlsson. Those two together on the same line in 2 years time, killer!!! Mad

How did Zibanejad end up in a spot where he could go in the top 10? He would have to end up pretty high on his potential to crack a top 6 spot. He just doesnt have the speed or the offensive talent. Dont get me wrong, I would to take him with our Nashville pick because you are certainly getting a great third line center who can put up points, and maybe even a second line center. But, to take him ahead of guys like Sven Bartschi, Brandon Saad, and even Matt Puempel seems silly to me...

I watched some videos of him and he has a very fast release, and also his hussle in unreal...he is kind of a combination of Stamkos and Crosby. Not that Im saying that he is as good as those guys, but just his type of play is similar. And the guy can also lay out some nice hits.

We'd have to draft him with out 6th overall pick, or move up significantly with our Nashville pick. It'd be a pretty bold move by ol' Bryan Murray, but not out of the question. By all accounts Mika Zibanejad is having an extremely solid Under 18 tournament and, like you said, is skyrocketing up the rankings. Definitely a darkhorse. Do we want another Swede?
Speaking of Yost he had an article today discussing possible trades for the Sens to get that top 6 forward. Mentioned Hemsky & Brassard. Hemsky? Okay a great player that is good but is as injured as Pascal Leclaire. No thanks. Brassard from Columbus okay that I can live with. But he also mentioned possibly Sens should consider trading Rundblad since his stock is so high or Cowen? Why would the Sens trade one of the D prospects that they figure will form part of a very good young defense in a few years? You re-build from the net out, you don't trade them away. Mark Stone has had a great year in the WHL. 106 pts in 71 games & 10 pts in 6 games in the playoffs. I don't think he is AHL eligible next season so does he stand a chance of pushing for a spot in the Sens lineup or go back to Brandon? Stone was drafted in round 6 so you would think Sens could find a decent player @ 6th overall.

I don't think this site "needs" Yost. But I am a big fan of Yost. I follow him on twitter and I enjoy that he is a big fan of all north american sports. He also has some insider insight with the sens on some level. But I think it is time now to just move on. That is in the past. We are a wonderful fan base here and I think we deserve the pat on the back from the anonymous Chirp of the Weeker.

Although the writer is not identified, in this Chirp Of The Week, he has written an excellent story, about the site remaining a One Man Show Yost could have been a great addition, but maybe it's a blessing in disguise, that he decided to stay at that other site, that I never visit. SensChirp is the Ottawa Senators true pulse, and it has many knowledgeable posters to add to this blog ! Hope all of you have a great summer, and we look forward to the June24-25 draft with great anticipation !!

Yost is no great loss. His opinion is no more or no less valid than anybody else that posts on here - it's an opinion. I'm all for disagreeing with people and I'm all for letting people know that you don't agree with them. I wish it wouldn't descend to playground level as often as it does but that's where some people on this site clearly reside. It might not be cool to advertise a different site on here but I know that there are readers of both on here and I know that chirp is already aware of sensunderground .com. The reason I'm bringing this up is that there is a guy on there who regularly posts info and thoughts on the Bingo players as he is a regular spectator. It's worth checking out for that and a lot of other things.

Also I wanted to thank you for the Bingo updates. I have never been so familiar with so many players on Bingo before. I am actually really interested in the teams playoff run this year. I love reading game takes on them. Please keep that up. Also great Chirp of the Week. We need more of those too.
