You just contradicted yourself. "people who say "anyone who thinks x is stupid" are plain wrong, but I feel like must say that anyone who want Craig MacT as our coach should probably examine their mental health" Way to complain about people and then go and do it yourself. Like the taste of that foot in your mouth? Posters are just throwing around names. Nobody here really knows who the coach will be next year. Do you know all of the Edm fans or did you just ask 2 friends? Can I have a larger sample size please? Frankly I want Clouston gone. I don't care who replaces him as long as they can do a better job with player relations, lines, etc etc.

Usually, people who say "anyone who thinks x is stupid" are plain wrong, but I feel like must say that anyone who want Craig MacT as our coach should probably examine their mental health. He was extremely well-liked in Edmonton - until he started coaching. None of the Edmonton fans I know (literally not a single one) has any love for CMac. He only had one decent year whereEDM went deep into the playoffs. His record is atrocious. So if you want CMac to coach us, please go directly to the asylum and check yourself in. That is all.

Cut down for space I would be shocked...and somewhat disappointed if this happened. You need to realize how many young/potential rookie players we will have, this is 99% of the time a recipe for disaster. Although if a team struggles together through a season or two I genuinely believe that in the long run it will make their bond stronger in turn likely increasing the long term productivity. We all know I was right there with the we need to blow up...but I take a slightly less abrasive approach.

You're such a retard sometimes, you don't think these teams are trying to play for home ice advantage? You don't think these teams are trying to win, develop chemistry, and have a hot streak that opponents will be weary of heading into the post season? Outside of the teams that are mathematically eliminated, every team is trying their hardest to win games. Hope is better than no hope for all the teams on the outside looking in, and home ice advantage is a HUGE aid in winning playoff games. Also, we don't really care for your opinion on other posters on here cause every one knows you have a baby dick....and therefore feel the need to shamelessly insult other posters...Loser ...

With respect to the above comments regarding cutting fans down, I don't know why anyone does it. I'm optimistic about the team as well, and I got shredded for the entire first half of the season for being that way. I don't particularly care that people do it to me, it just never made any sense to knock someone around for being an optimist. That said, here's optimism. I believe the Senators will make the playoffs next year. They need strong goaltending from Anderson, tightened up defense over this year, and a top-line winger to play with Spezza. If they get those things, then I think they'll be a playoff team, and no one will convince me otherwise. The only way I'll be dissuaded is if/when they are mathematically eliminated next spring. So suck it, shred me, I don't care. I think they are a better team than most of their 'fans' give them credit for.

I also feel like Spezz can have a positive impact on a young scorer with much potential, kind of like a Marty St Louis to a Stamkos- the perfect balance of goal scoring while feeding the young scorer with tons of assists. He's kind of like that. I hope we can get a hold of a scoring winger in the OS, either thru the Free Agent Market, or through the draft. However I'm still not convinced that Landeskog is a prolific goal scorer. Hopefully he proves me wrong.

Just did a comparison to Mike Richards of the Philadephia Flyers. 17 points in his last 25. I honestly believe that Jason Spezza has the ability be one of the best forwards in the league- as his point performance in the past has shown before. He is more consistent than most other high caliber forwards around the league. Hopefully I don't sound pretentious is what I'm saying, but I think individually, he is one of the most skilled players in the league hands down. We have seen this guy single handedly deke opposing players out and set up team mates for some highlight reel assists. I guess the difference between Spezza and a Mike Richards, is that Richards has Giroux, Pronger, Carter, Briere, etc. to play with, and therefore doesn't need to be as individual. Just thinking what Spezza can do again with good linemates- as he's done with Heatley. Spezza reminds more and more like Rick Nash: one of the most talented forwards in the game who is on a mediocre team.

[quote name="TheTyrant Wee"]These season ending wins versus teams that have nothing to play for are just a smoke screen. Not to mention Ottawa is getting out-shot and out-chanced 2-1 by virtually every team they play. The real test will be the first 20 games of next season. That's when you'll see where this group of young kids matches up. Most teams we're playing right now are either already out of it or pretty much a lock to see post-season hockey. None of them are playing at full steam. EXACTLY !!!!! LOSSES? Buffalo twice, Carolina, Rangers. Common denominator? They're both fighting for playoffs. BEATEN? Tampa twice, Philly once, Caps, Florida. Common denominator? They're either pretty much locked for the playoffs or locks to miss the playoffs. We are out-working them and this is why we are winning. You really think next year when every1 starts at 0pts we will be out-working teams this often? I predict another bottom finish but only time will tell...

(can be perfect for us) and i hear he is interested in becoming a head coach. the other coach i also hear lots about is Dave Cameron ( i dont know much about him other than his connections with Melnyk and i guess coaching team Canada WJC.) i rather an experienced coach. remember or we should hire Emilio Estevez (actor, and was in the movie The Mighty Ducks as the head coach) or we should hire Charlie Sheen.

I think Cory Clouston is the best fit for this team right now. people bring up Dave Cameron and his impressive record with Missisauga. Well look at what Clouston has done with teams in the past. Over 60% winning percentage with Kootenay, twice named WHL coach of the year, Head coach of Team Canada U-18 Gold Medal Winners in 2005. CHL Coach of the year, and lets not forget, ge got ottawa back into the playoffs after being written off before last season ever started. Just look at what he had to work with this season. No coach could have gotten Ottawa into a playoff berth. Quite frankly, this organizaiton would be foolish to let Clouston go, because gauranteed, he will be back somewhere in the NHL.

@TheTyrantWee I disagree that some of these teams have nothing to play for. I really think Wash wants 1st in the conference. There are only 3 teams right now that have clinched playoff spots.. and that's Philly, Pitts & Wash. The Rangers and Tampa don't have a guaranteed spot yet and I can't believe they would 'throw' a game. New Jersey, when Sens played them both times had a chance of making it in... but the Sens did not help that by beating them both times. Yes they are being outshot a lot of nights.. BUT they now have decent goaltending. What do you expect, re shots per game, when half of your team is AHL call-ups. Until Michalek came back, the Sens had 1 legimate top 6 forward for almost a month + 3rd & 4th liners + the AHL players and they still are giving teams fits when they play them. Sens are definitely right now a hard team to play against.

Panthers lost in a shootout too, so at least we aren't closer to moving down another pick....idiots. Although I did find myself cheering when we tied it up/on that Spezza move. Such a frustrating team right now because it is in our best interest to lose, but they obviously aren't and are at least looking competitive in winning(hopeful ly it carries over to next season, but I won't be holding my breath). Final thought for now....what in the hell happened to that Andrew Ladd guy? LOL
