Zibanejad Headed to Sweden

Written by SensChirp
It should not come as a huge surprise (hinted at it yesterday) but the Ottawa Senators have decided to return 18 year old Mika Zibanejad to Sweden for the remainder of the season. While I think he could have learned a lot developing at the NHL level, this is obviously the decision the club feels is best for his future with the organization.

A Well Deserved Shootout Victory

Written by SensChirp
It was more dramatic than expected this was a much deserved win for the Ottawa Senators. Jason Spezza scored the lone goal in the shootout and Craig Anderson stood tall as the Senators survived a rally by the Hurricanes and won their third straight hockey game.

GAME DAY- Zibanejad's 9th

Written by SensChirp
The Ottawa Senators are on their first winning streak of the season. They will look to notch a third straight victory when they visit Cam Ward, Eric Staal and the Carolina Hurricanes.  It won't be easy for the Sens though as they will play this one without their Captain, Daniel Alfredsson.

Ottawa Still Undecided on Zibanejad

Written by SensChirp
Bryan Murray met with media this afternoon and made it clear that Zibanejad’s future with the team is still up in the air. He will be in the line up against Carolina.  Obviously this is an important game for the rookie as it will be his ninth in the NHL.  The Senators will then have to make a decision on what to do with the 18 year old forward before a year is triggered on his entry level contract.

Sens ReCall Daugavins

Written by SensChirp
Bit of a surprise at practice this morning as the Sens were joined by Kaspars Daugavins. With Filatov in Binghamton, it was assumed he was next in line for a call up but they have decided to go with Daugavins instead. Should be interesting to see where he fits in tomorrow night in Carolina.
