Bingo Draws Even

It was a game they had to have.

Down 1-0 in their series with the Manchester Monarchs, the Binghamton Senators desperately needed to get the split heading back to Bingo on Sunday. Fourth round pick Derek Grant gave them exactly what they needed with an overtime winner on Saturday night.

Chirp of the Week- One Man Show?

Here is the first entry in the Chirp of the Week feature. Received this email shortly after I made the announcement that Travis Yost would not be joining the site. I think the reader makes some great points about the regulars on this site and the direction of SensChirp moving forward.

Remember that if you have an entry for Chirp of the Week, you can send it to me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or use the contact form at the top of the page.

Sens Have 6th Pick

Just like everything else this season, the bouncing lottery ball did not fall the Sens way tonight as the New Jersey Devils won the Draft Lottery, dropping the Ottawa Senators in the draft order.

The Ottawa Senators will select 6th, unless they make a deal to move up.

Sens Clean Out Their Lockers

As the Sens came together for the last time before departing on what will be a long summer, there seemed to be a general sense of hope for the future. The team was much better down the stretch and a handful of young guys stepped up and made management and fans take notice.

Brighter days are ahead for the Ottawa Senators.

Thoughts on Clouston- Website Update

All year we heard about tension between Clouston and the players. It was mentioned on this site a few times actually.

The way he handled some of the guys in the room was an issue from the get go and communication never really was his strength.  As the team continued to slide,it became clear that he wasn't on the same page as some of the veterans on the team.

Sens Clean House

The Ottawa Senators have done the expected and fired head coach Cory Clouston along with his assistants Greg Carvel and Brad Lauer. This was a move we have been talking about for quite some time but the fact that it came right after the game shows this was a move the team had planned for quite some time.

Sorry for the late post on this one but I got caught away from the computer. More analysis on the shake up in a little bit.
