The Penguins are coming off a shootout loss on home ice at the hands of Brian Elliott and the St. Louis Blues. In the game before that, Crosby made his return after nearly ten months on the sidelines and completely dominated the New York Islanders. If that Crosby shows up again tonight, the Sens could have their hands full.
The Sens have had a long week of practice so they should know exactly what they need to do to keep Crosby contained. Obviously staying out of the penalty box will be a big part of that.
MacLean's group is scheduled to take their morning skate in Pittsburgh at 11:30 AM. Will update this post with any line up changes at that time. What we do know is the forward combinations will remain unchanged and Craig Anderson gets the start in the Ottawa goal. Would expect MacLean to stick with the same pairings on the blueline as well. Obviously this would be a tough game to bring David Rundblad back into the line up.
(Update 11:26 AM)- According to Ian Mendes on Twitter, it will be Marc Andre Fleury in goal for the Penguins.
Puck drop is scheduled for just after 7:00 PM tonight and the game can be seen on Sportsnet and TVA and of course on the radio at Team1200.com. Keep an eye on the comment section for any streams that may pop up.
- Bit of a side note but it's important to note another strong performance from Nikita FIlatov last night. Picked up a goal and two assists in a Binghamton Senators win. With the end of November looming and a chat scheduled between Filatov and Murray, it's clear that Filatov is making a late push to be called up. Hope the Sens give him another shot.
This will be a specialty team's game and I am thinking a 2-1 W for our boys!!
Hope to see Filatov back up here, but hope he leaves his attitude in Bingo.
GO SENS GO!
Man is Pittsburgh ever a match-up nightmare for opposing teams eh? If we slow down the greatest player in the world in Sid, we have the almost as daunting task in shutting down (in my opinion) the second best player in the world in Geno.
Whatever we do we have to stay out of the penalty box. I don't want to see Crosby, Malkin, Neal and Letang out there with extra ice on a 5 on 4.
I don't know if I want to make a prediction for this game.
As good as Staal is, Toews went 3rd overall in the 2006 draft and Backstrom 4th... Kessel 5th. Imagine if the Pens took Toews instead of Staal?!?!
Good point AFM11, that would just be sick. PP of Crosby, Malkin, Toews, Letang and Neal...that's just not right. NHL12 wouldn't even allow a line up like that. Lol
Haha just watched that! Love the Cowen/Jerry Seinfeld comparison.
Awesome!!
That would be quite the line up, but Jordan Staal is #1 or #2 center on any other team in the league. If Staal played with Hossa, Sharp and Kane consistently, he would have as many points as Toews; maybe more. They both have a Cup and are the same age... it would still be a tough pick for me. I still think that Staal may not have hit his peak yet, and could be an 80 point guy...
Backstrom though... would have been SICK
hahaha Cowen didn't look too impressed that's for sure. Best was Regin running for the hills!
Signing off... Z-Man!
Loving it!!! Saw him on A-Channel this morning with a kid doing interviews in the locker room... he seems like a great classy guy!!!
Sure as hell... other teams may beat us in standings, points... but never in class!
GO SENS GO!!
IMO - We have the right coaching tandem with Maclean and Cameron. Cameron is good with young players and Maclean will not lead anyone astray. Work hard = playing time. All Filatov has to do is work hard when he gets his chance and he will be rewarded.
Curious to see how they play against such an opponent; such a superior opponent. (or to be otherwise shown by Sens tonight).
Lots of character showing games so far. This should show that too. Then on Sunday... my vocal chords are warmed up to welcome them home!
No comparison between Toews and Staal. Most people put Toews in the top 5 or top 10 centers in the game. Jordan Staal is never mentioned in the same category.
Toews:
2005 - U17 Gold Medal
2006 - WJ Gold Medal
2007 - World Junior Gold Medal, led team Canada in scoring, named to tournament all-star team. World Championship Gold, only Canadian to ever win WJ gold and WC gold in the same year.
2008 - World Championship Silver
2010 - Olympic Gold, Tournament MVP, Stanley Cup, Conn Smythe
Second youngest player to ever and youngest captain to ever win conn smythe. Youngest Captain ever by games played (64) and one of only 6 players to ever win the cup and olympic gold in the same year.
Jordan Staal's resume is an absolute joke in comparison.
I think the original conversation was something like, I get you're unhappy in Bingo, go down there until the end of the month, play well, work hard and we'll get you back in Ottawa.
I'm fine with that. I'm glad there wasn't an immediate fold when the KHL was mentioned, but if Filatov has done what is being asked of him this past month and we don't give him a shot it's difficult to begrudge the guy leaving.
I think Murray and MacLean are pretty straight talking and honest guys and they definitely want to give Filatov a shot, but for the good of the player himself and the resy of the players in the organisation on the fringes (Daugavins, Da Costa etc) you have to earn it.
We have been struggling on the second line all year,
Filatov came to Ottawa b/c of the lack of top 6 forwards, and a legitmate shot at being in the top 6.
Yet we have had plenty of players audition
Regin, DaCosta, Winchester, Butler, Daugavins, Condra, even Neil,a nd yet Filatov has barely been given a sniff.
Now we hear that Murray is interested in Turris, who has done aboslutely nothing to merit a holdout, and has proven nothing.
Can we blame Filatov for getting upset? Say what you want but he has never held out, and is now in his 3rd year of playing in the minors, so he has done his part, and is justified in perhaps giving the KHL a run.
In my opinion his character is a lot better than Turris,
give the kid his shot!!!
Pretty sure Sid plays on the PP. He hasn't played on the PK though - so maybe we should try to get them to take penalties ... oh wait, that would be our plan any game.
Does he deserve a shot? Yes, if he works hard for it. Will he get that shot in Ottawa? Yes once he has proven to MacLean and Murray that he deserves it. Filatov is not the only concern here.
Murray and MacLean are trying to develop a culture where players who work hard, listen to their coaches and do what is asked of them - players like Greening and Daugavins for example - get rewarded and players with an over inflated sense of entitlement don't. When BM and PM are satisfied he'll be wearing an Ottawa jersey again.
I would have thought that after two years of watching Kovalev float around putting in a decent effort every 5th game that an air of hard work and accountability would be welcomed.
outstanding work!
It probably wouldn't make much sense to pick him up, both financially and roster wise.
Conversely, the front of my hair is short, reminding me of how sharp and quaffed the Sens have been this year.
I want every one to shit-talk the hell out of Pens fans tonight. Just be absolutely crazy and 'left-field' about it and say things like:
"Crosby? What the hell has THAT GUY ever won anyway?", and "Malkin couldn't even score when he played in the Olympics for Sweden", and "Fleury hasn't been the same since they named McDonald Milkshakes after him"
Have fun with it...
God, I'm hungover, and this Chunky Soup has too many spuds, not enough meat.
Peluso say have a great weekend Sens fans...
(see important video here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfVsfOSbJY0&ob=av3n)
Some of your best work, Peluso
Toews is just slightly better then Jordan Staal with more playing time and a 1st line leadership role. If Jordan had been given his own team like his brother Eric he'd be putting up much bigger numbers. Instead he's been stuck on the 3rd line C role most of his career until last year and he's put up good numbers in limited time when in the top 6.
Toews is really good, but there's definitely a comparison to be made there. Toews has 19pts in 22games, Staal has 16 in 20. If Staal was a 1st line C with Kane, Sharp, Hossa as wingers his numbers would probably match or exceed Toews.
Your are bang on, 5 on 5 we suck, 0.77 goals for/against ratio. we wont be able to match up with they're top 2 lines, so its gonna be alot us trying to stop them instead of trying to score.
PP% will be crucial if we get some, need to score on those tonight to have a chance.
4-2 Pens.
so what has Turris done to deserve going after?
I question his character more than Filatov.
And why all the talk of picking up players on waivers?
Comeau cannot make the Islanders and they are the worst team in the league!
Lets give our own experiments a shot first.
PS I agree Great stuff Peluso
want to add "why go after Staal he was shit in Carolina and in New York!"
Soup in general is a dissapointment, hell what are you doing eating soup...
Eat a steak, fry some chicken wings, drink beer, not soup!
Or better yet, grill up some rare Penguin.
I don't really think there is a comparison man. I mean, if you want to base it off points then sure, if Staal played with the players that Toews has on his line then he could put up similar points.
Toews has been a winner everywhere he's played. He's a big game player as seen in 2010 with the Olympic Gold medal, tourny mvp, followed up with the Stanley Cup and Conn Smythe.
Toews has the ability to elevate his game like very few others can. Remember his 3 shootout winning goals in the 2007 world juniors against the US in the semi finals? I remember it like it was yesterday, and I also remember Jordan Staal not being there...or at the Olympics ...
If this happens, id be curious to see where they'd stick him into the line-up and also who would come out. If this all happens, I'd personally like to see him penciled in for 2nd line minutes to make the most of his "chance of making an impression."
Time will tell.
Agreed
Haha even better!
I hear that little 87 penguin is tough to catch!
Take out the club's, its clubbing time!
Come on man, you're telling me PHO is disappointing? I love that shizz!
So your argument is that Toews is a better clutch player because Staal has not been given those chances?
If we had a Staal, our 2nd line would be sweet and I'll leave it at that!
absolutely nothing which is why I don't want us to do it.
we already have our own Kyle Turris, he's called Nikita Filatov.
Staal hasn't been given those chances because unlike Toews, he hasn't earned them. Our second line would be awesome if we had Staal, but it would be even better if we had Toews and I'll leave it at that.
Pho sure (see what I did there?)
Maybe they are going to move Bourque if anyone is willing to touch that contract. I think they would give him up for a bowl of lukewarm Pho the way he's playing. That guy is invisible right now.
That's what I was thinking too. I think Bourque would be a good fit with Spezza and Michalek but that's a very risky contract to pick up if it didn't work out. I don't know how players of his calibre can just fade away like he is... I he's not Russian so I don't know what his excuse is lol
Calgary has one of the worst prospect pools and 7 forward UFAs after this season. They need anything they can get right now!
I wonder how long it will take them to just accept the fact they need to rebuild and blow up their roster.
Queue up the "which underperforming guys on the Flames should we pick up (for Kuba) so that guy can magically turn into the best player in the NHL" suggestions.
Well that's what happens when someone does their homework. I agree with you - Toews is the better player, however I looked at it from a Pittsburgh perspective. IF Toews played in Pitts, on the third line like Staal, would half of the credntials above apply to him? Probably not since he wouldn't be used to his full capabilities.
No doubt both are great with Toews clearly being more successful.
Never been to capgeek?
Fear not Hax, those were not my intentions and I don't think it's a conversation anyone feels like engaging in lol
I think they are coming to that realization finally ... or at least I hope so. This will probably be the best year for them to be a real deadline seller and a great draft to stockpile picks for. Comeau is the type of player that fits into a rebuild though, given his age and potential. Should be a quality 2nd/3rd line player for them.
Yeah buddy have you? Before claiming Comeau who carries a cap hit of 2.5 million, Calgary had less than 3 mill in cap space. Like I said, that move puts them right up against the cap.
Easy man, wasn't trying to be a douche.
And technically they only get about $1.9M against their cap. So they're close but not really "up against" where they need to get desperate to dump someone.
They don't take on his full cap hit but it's still fairly significant what theyll be taking on... Roughly 75% of 2.5 million.
The flames are so screwed... 11 NTC's and so many bad contract. They couldn't even blow up their roster if they wanted to!
Well "smartass" yeah, but in a good-spirited, we're all Sens fans kinda way. Not like a Tookie or who was that other guy? Tyrant or something?
On a more relevant note, check out this article on our Sens CHL prospects:
http://www.hockeysfuture.com/articles/13439/creative_forwards_dominate_chl_prospect_pool_for_ottawa_senators/
Definetely an exciting group of prospects. Thanks for the link man. I'm pretty pumped for the WJ's, and I'm hoping Pageau will be back and healthy enough to participate in the tournament. A line of Peumpel-Pageau- Stone would be awesome for Canada!!
That would be awesome! I really believe 2-3 of our prospects (including Zibanejad) will be ready for the NHL jump next fall.
I love my Sens.. but man I just don't see them winning this game.
Pens down the middle - Malkin, Crosby, Staal -- Sens have Spezza, DaCosta, Smith... I think the Smith line might do okay against Staal... and Spezza should hold his own against Malkin or Crosby... but that 2nd line centre position with DaCosta -- right now is very weak. He just does not have the experience.
Chirp -- did the Sens put in a claim for Comeau?
ok we are in agreement
Rub it in... let me guess your watchig it eating BBQ Penguin with some ice cold brew!
Nice... well I am only a coupld of hours away myself!
Agreed.. watching it now. Pavel Datsyuk -- what a hockey player!
that clip on SensTV with Zenon is very funny, well done Z.
best case tonight, we take it to a shoot out and win!
Go Sens Go!!!
i don't want to rain on your parade or piss on your bonfire or whatever liquid based analogy I can't at the moment bring to mind think of, but by ready I expect that to be 1 maybe with the big club full time and the others as call ups in Bingo.
Whatever happens it's a much brighter future at forward than it was 2 years ago. The one thing we are missing is a true top drawer elite prospect.
alfie will not ever play for an NHL team that is not called the ottawa senators.
BOOK IT!!!!
he doesn't want it to happen, the organisation doesn't want it to happen and the fans don't want it to happen.
I agree that we still need a top prospect but I can't wait to see all of our young guns at the Worl Juniors. I live near Canada Olympic Park and plan on attending as many of the practices as I can. Getting tickets for the games is proving a little more difficult.
Peluso...meant to thumbs up that pun and a half. Good show!
I think the experience has really helped players like Greening, Condra, Cowen, Daugavins etc etc
Could not agree more - it baffles me that people are the least bit in doubt about this. Alfie's character simply doesn't consider "going to a contender" an option.
I know he would never asked to be moved but does anyone think Murray would have the balls to ask him if he would be willing to go if offer's start coming in around the trade deadline?
It's not about "balls" from Murray. Whatever the return might be (which I admit could be considerable) it's not worth the morale hit to the organization. Young players want to see that loyalty is repaid, fans want Alfie to retire a Senator, Alfie wants to be here - you can't trade for that kind of stuff.
Alfie is more important to Ottawa and the Senators than just about any other player has been for any other city/team.
not sure how this comment could get a thumbs down, but I think it is a very valid point
He did say personally that he wouldnt rule it out.
The bleacher report is obviously a very useless publication. This isn't even worth speculating about at this point in the season.
Probably didn't deserve a thumbs down (wasn't me), but I would argue that building a winning team in the AHL is about #44 on the priority list. They're a farm team. Those players (and I'd add Smith) certainly did benefit from the Calder run, but I don't think either of the Murray's is working late nights trying to recreate that anytime soon.
True but that's the "professional" answer to the question. The same characteristics in Alfie that would keep him here also would prevent him from saying something that would put Murray in a corner.
Haha you speak like he won us 3 Stanley Cups man, in fact he hasnt won anything for us. Sure he's the all time this and that for the Sens but bottom line is Cups. He has 0.
I wouldnt be upset if Alfie left, especially if the return is substantially in our favour, hell I would wish him the best and hope he goes out a Cup winner, cuz it wont happen in Ottawa.
Well thats your opinion, not fact.
Its a no brainer really, as an organization, that if a retiring player wants to go or another team inquires and gives much for him, that the Org would give it serious thought, especially in a rebuild.
Here's a list of the straight forward possibilities: Zibanejad, Silfverberg, Stone, Noesen, Prince, Puempel, Borowiecki, Lehner, Petersson, Gryba and Wiercioch. Filatov could still be around as well.
Add to that Winchester, Konopka, Kuba, Auld and Carkner are all UFAs, and there's plenty of opportunity for more than 1 ... hate to burst your bubble ;)
NOBODY has won us ANY cups EVER. So Alfie not winning us one doesn't exactly drop him out of contention for being valuable to the city/organizati on does it?
We all know you could care less if he left but you're not exactly the typical Sens fan are you?
Zibanejad, Noesen, Prince, Puempel are not playing NHL next year, haha, they have much development to go yet.
Everybody in Boston was happy for Ray Bourque to get his cup in Colorado. I would be happier to see Alfie go out with one last playoff run and I would cheer my ass off for whatever team he ended up on. (Just not those douchebags down the 401!)
Of course - do you think you're arguing with me or talking me into something?? Of course if Alfie approached Murray and asked to get moved to a contender Murray would do it in a heartbeat. My point (and yes it is my opinion) is that Alfie simply would not consider that a move he'd want to make. He puts loyalty to the orgainzation and his teammates above a mere "shot" at a cup with another team.
Disagree if you want of course and heck he could prove me wrong. But I doubt it.
If I thought you'd actually agree to wager, I'd be willing to bet Alfie retires a Senator-for-lif e. But I'm guessing you'd somehow overlook this post like last time you shot your mouth off.
Haha, you're really dumb enough to laugh at me for thinking Zibanejad might be here next year? Excuse me while I continue believing you're wrong more then right ... just like with Stone!
Also, try following the discussion, I said 2-3 of all those players listed would make the team, not those specific 4 you chose.
Why cuz I want the sens to look at all their options? Especially one that makes absolute sense to look at?'
Alfie will retire, at the end of this season or the next, no stopping that. It doesnt help us one bit towards the future to just let him walk, see Chara...This is a business, I have no doubt Murray will explore the situation and if presented with a great offer, I wouldnt be surprised to see Alfie traded at the deadline (IF we're sellers).
You're absolutley correct. And I'm sure most fans would cheer their asses off with you should it happen. My point (or opinion if you like) is that Alfie simply puts being part of THIS team ahead of some "shot" at a cup.
No because you're incredibly negative.
I agree that on paper losing Alfie for "nothing" hurts on paper, but I still feel that there wouldn't be a return available that would outweigh the value of having Alfie's untarnished #11 in the rafters. Murray will get offers and he'll know what's available, but unless Alfie comes to him asking for it, he will not be traded.
Next time be more specific, its easy to say 2-3 of 12 players haha...
I would think only Borocop, Silfverberg and Lehner be here next year.
I don't disagree with you. In all honesty though, I hope that if the opportunity is there, he takes it. It would help us immensely with what would most likely be a first round pick+, and I don't think it tarnishes his legacy as the greatest player or person to don a Sens jersey.
Ok then I think we agree on something, being that both parties would have to agree to it. It still could happen.
if you just stopped here, you would be fine, but NOOO you have to go and antaganize Sens fans with anti Alfie comments.
Yes Took you are right he did say this. And in all fairness I think he meant it.
He is no dummy, he knows his career is drawing to an end, he has done all and more for the City and the team. Unlike others before him who would turn down a chance at a cup, when we were out of it (Philips to name one), Alfie bleeds Sens but he also wants a shot at a cup. And he is not so short sighted to see that he can go on a run with another team, and then come back to end his career here where he belongs.
PraiseAlfie
Come on Tookie follow the convo ;)
Coles Notes - I thought there would be 2-3 prospects promoted to the NHL next fall, he thought 1, I listed the list of most obvious choices to show how many possibilities the org has. We all agreed it's a great pool and going to be fun!
Let's hug it out! ooo
I wouldn't rule out Zibanejad either, I can't see DaCosta sticking around for much longer (at least at 2nd C) and if Zibby can put on 15-20 pounds over the summer he could come back and make the team, he got the full 9 games already this season so I could at least see him playing down in the A to start and being the first call up and from there who knows...
Sooo your bashing me then agreeing with me....ok
Download the latest roster. I do fantasy drafts for gm mode and he's in there. Latest update had him at a rating of 74 or 75 I believe.
Thanks
You'll have to buy SEL 2012.
We have played some good teams and walked away with a win so anything is possible.
GO Sens GO
there's plenty of opportunity for more than 1 ... hate to burst your bubble ;)
i will take a bet with you that only 1 or 2 of the players you mention will play more than 20 NHL games next season.
you haven't burst anything - i never said there wasn't opportunity. I said that of our current prospects 1 would be a regular in the NHL next year and the rest would be call ups.
So you're bet is that 1-2 players will make it and mine is 2-3 players will? Do you see the problem with that bet lol
The burst your bubble thing was just playing along with your liquid based analogies, nothing personal man, relax.
As for 20 games, if Lehner's one of the 2-3 there's no guarantee he'd get that many, though it's likely. But again, 1-2 vs 2-3, not really much point debating that. But yes, there will be more than 1 player getting more than 20 games next year is my opinion.
Bryan needs a weekend to meet his promise.
"Sometimes a man just has to know his limitations!"
The issue is to make ROOM for those young players -- Zib & Silfverberg.
3 or more and we all agree that you are
2 and we are both geniuses and we retire to the nearest pub and buy each other a beer
deal?
Ditto - someone please hit me with a stream!
and kunitz -_-
Shit
Darn.
But it's not great... if anyone has a better one, please post.
not good but the only thing i can find
Jk
http://chanfeed.com/12054/watch-ottawa-vs-pittsburgh
thats about all we have to look forward to in this one
Thumbs down if you agree ;)
Guys it is ugly 4-1 ...it is going to be a long night
Not everyone lives in the Ottawa area
I know but since when are half the readers on here out-of-towners?
P.S. try this site, has multiple links per game: http://www.firstrowsports.tv/sport/ice-hockey.html
The Pens got atleast 6 more goals in them!! LOL
Also, we will only get obvious calls, especially when we play Penguins because Canadian darling plays there.
Standing around pointing at opposing players telling people who they should cover, meanwhile one hand on the stick, BOOM, puck is in front of him, panic move, giveaway and goal!
Yeeeeeeeee Hawww
3 more years in hell fellas
THUMBS DOWN if you agree ;)
What?
EEEEEEEYORE !
Would you like fries with that?
Maybe people have moved out of the crap bucket a.k.a Ottawa?
You can like a team while out of the city you know.. It's not like we're goin to instantly give up a new team after following them for all these years..
And like another poster commented, 3 more years of hell. I can't wait for the old days (not that far back) when we dominated teams. Now, I just want us to be competitive and put in the effort. Oh, and to beat the Leafs, of course.
Yes but can you wash your ass and apply some Vaseline,so that you can enjoy a 9".
This coming from the guy who called us " bunch of uneducated and uninformed idiots "
Harold was always the more sensible one,
and Kumar never cared for rules.
Anywho, there isn't just adults on this board. You should put SOME thought into what you type.. Wouldn't want to come off as uniformed or uneducated.

I identified a jerk and acted properly.
For your information, dont get caught up with popular culture. Make use of your neutrons signals wisely. At least I can identify myself, unlike your user ID.
Cheers...
Show me the last article where this many ppl asked for a stream assface. All I was saying was since when are so many ppl not able to see the sens games. Damn some ppl on here have the IQ of a cucumber
P.s. (horn just went as I typed this). Screw you Pens!
P.p.s. Sigh.....
Sarmy, why dont you post in Sens forum. Any how, good to see around
Sunday is another day.
I agree, look at the Pens roster, than look at ours. We lost 6-3 which is at least commendable but we made a lot of mistakes.
My only problem with this game was Anderson. Yes there were some lucky goals but 4 on 8 shots? If there's one thing Anderson lacks it's consistancy. Ottawa just has the worst luck with goalies. He doeesn't have to play spectacular just decent enough to keep us in the games, when you go down that early you're delfated...
The Penguins ripped off four goals in the game's first 10 minutes, chasing Ottawa's Chris Anderson, who stopped just four of the eight shots he faced before giving way to Alex Auld.
Damn that Chris Anderson!
Chris Anderson, really? That guy should be fired for looking that stupid...
I really don't want to tank anymore. I did last year, like everyone else probably because it was the direction we were headed to. Draft promised to be, well promising. Turned out it was the shit when Murray surprised everyone to land a third 1st rounder. I have complete confidence in Murray. Seeing as he helped develop an eventual Cup winning team in Anaheim. I like how Lehner isn't being rushed to be in the NHL with the exception of few emergency call ups. Hope he molds out to becoming a Lundqvist type of Sweedish goalie, winning wise not particularly the style. Or maybe the style.
Not rushing the prospects to begin at 18 but rather 20 should be ideal. Here's to our team for the next decade.
Michalek - Zibanejad - Stone
Foligno - Smith - Neil
Prince - Pageau - Silfverberg
Thumbs down for early lining predictions. Good night buds.
Elliot must feel pretty good knowing that the game before, he beat the high flying Pens, and the next game later, his old team got stomped by them.
He really needed a change of scenery.. but I don't regret the trade. He may falter in the playoffs so w/e.
Playoffs? He's played 10 games...the other shoe is about to drop.
Rough game tonight. 5 day layoff against a team that was embarrassed just two days earlier. Add to that Anderson's one shaky game every 6 starts and it was a recipe for disaster.
Just couldn't pass this by. Okay now, goodnight buds.
Silfverberg 4ht line your a donkey lol stupid
1. Dallas

He gotta pay for that elbow...I say Neiler gives him a "Chris Drury" in a couple fo weeks...
Rebuild, warp factor 7.
We all realize that barring a complete miracle, this is a non playoff team. Where they finish from 17th to 30th overall is anyone's guess. They could finish in 9th or 10th in the conference just as easily as they could finish 14th or 15th.
The Sens have been really unpredictable to date, playing great stretches of hockey and some ugly ones as well. I expect that trend to continue.
"You're" thinking of him going anywhere higher is more of a joke than you actually thinking that. Mark Stone will rape him you tool.
If you are a Mac user, guide your cursor to the top left hand side of this page. There you will see a red circle, once your cursor is above it an "X" will appear, then proceed to click the previously mentioned red circle. If you are a PC user, the process is very similar, the only change is the there will be a reddish-orange square with an "X" on the top right side, the rest of the process is the same. Both of these will guide you out of the site.
Quoting SensFanInMTL:

WOW - 10 year olds calling each other names.
Settle it in the playground at recess boys.
Not as bad as Bob Cole... why does he even have a job.
Quoting McLovin:
I think Dacosta would welcome the demotion, not the pay cut. He looks completely overwhelmed with 2c responsibilitie s. Rundbland would probably be choked due to the lack of opportunity he had been given to prove his worth.
Although the Sens scored the first goal... they were not really playing like they should have in the first part of the game... Anderson did not come to play. You get a couple of those saves.. maybe a different game. Sens played even with them through the last 2 periods... -- just a bad start and that's all she wrote..
What did you expect during a re-build? The Sens WON'T be able to compete with the elite teams... but for the most part they are hanging in their with the other teams. I certainly did not expect them to win last night... the got 3 goals... all by Sens rookies.. and they were not blown out as so many haters predicted. Hell Buffalo lost by 4 goals to Columbus. Wash lost be 3 goals to Rangers... It's not all that bad...
I want Rundblad back in the Sens lineup..
Should have let Zibby stay !!!
Winchester 217 games played career 48 points lol
Bon Jovi - Cher - Alfie
Kurt Cobain - Regin - Neil
Paula Abdul - Zibanejad - Ringo Starr
Erik Karlsson - Don Cherry
Ray Emery - Elvis Stojko
Charlie Brown - Lenny Kravitz
Screech
Lou Ferrigno
Cheer squad: kelly Kapowski - lisa Turtle
The "BayZZside High" line is gonna rule!
Come on David... your time to shine..
Brownie the Clownie - proof positive that you can take the windbag out of "talk radio" but can never take the "talk radio" our of the windbag
I don't know who you scout for but clearly you were not 6'2" and 190lbs @ 19 years old or you would know, like Bambi, old Stonewall @ 21 years of age will gain that 1/2 step and will skate around, over or through you anytime you want to hook on...did you even bother to come out and see the man play live when he was here!
im not too sure what that means, i assume he argued with the refs and they kicked him out?
FOX 40's @tgeldrid reporting Nikita Filatov is headed to Ottawa. This is likely for his meeting with #Sens GM Bryan Murray. #BSens
Filatov was boarded late in the 3rd period and it was a 2 minute minor called. At the end of the game he gave the ref some hell over it I guess.
He also whiffed on a penalty shot during the game after a Pens player grabbed the puck in the crease.

ahh thanks.
as for the penalty shot. im not surprised, i rember him here in ottawa a couple times complete miss on penalty shots (i believe it was during pre-season)
Filatov has to make the most of this call-up before Neil and Regin come back otherwise he's going to find himself right back in Bingo.
Rundblad gets another opportunity tonight as well. Great news. I'm just not a fan of Brian Lee's game.
Hopefully Filatov has been working hard in practice in Bingo and comes in with the right attitude so MacLean can justify putting him with Spezza.
Nikita Filatov– Jason Spezza – Milan Michalek
Nick Foligno – Colin Greening – Daniel Alfredsson
Kaspars Daugavins – Zack Smith – Erik Condra
Zenon Konopka – Jesse Winchester – Bobby Butler
Filip Kuba – Erik Karlsson
Jared Cowen – Sergei Gonchar
Chris Phillips – David Rundblad
Craig Anderson
I assume DaCosta will probably be down about the same amount of time that Karlsson was -- or pending injury... or until Murray can make some more room.
Must make DAUG feel comfortable that he was not the one sent down. That 3rd line of Smith-Daug-Cond ra... is quite a good line... don't want to see that broken up.
I'd like to see Greening given a shot at the 2C shot till regin is back as well. If the sens have home ice advantage, you could potentially thro out that second line agianst another teams first to shut them down which might help to free up Spezza's line.
I agree DaCosta deserved to be sent down, he has showed some promise.
Filatov better bring it tonight.
Daugavins Smith Condra is a great line.
Perfect time to see if Filatov can make the jump, it is an experiment we need to have before we either cut or keep ties.
I have to admit, I'm real curious as to what the lines will be, and where Filatov slides in...
Right and Hamilton won't be getting internet for another two years or so.
Stone was picked late because injury hindered his speed and development. He looked like a typical oversized 19 year old rookie and trust me everyone was measuring his speed against Silfverberg, who was one of the fastest guys on the ice. We shall see when he is twenty-one. And I did leave the name space blank on my new heritage sweater for just such a player.
scratch that. i dont think its true
No I dont mean it like that but he deserves to have a good time without worrying to do a post everyday for selfish douches like u
Relax dude. I would never deny Chirp a day off or two. But he has done plenty of posts from the road before. Maybe have a little bran with breakfast tomorrow okay?
You mad bro?
www.google.com... but seriously

As much fatigue can takes it toll on an athlete I'm hoping his desire to make a strong impression on Murray gives him the energy he needs to have a good game.
Plus he's actually be going to be playing with a strong line and against a lacklustre canes, which is bound to help his game.
As does Gonchar.
Anderson let's in an early softie, hopefully it's the only one....
(In particular, skip to the 4:00 minute mark).
Basically, fuck you Penguins, and fuck you Sheriff Shanny.

Hahaha... Just watched that and how awesome is GM BM. Pittsburgh had better get some tough guys before the next match if Carks and Neil are ready to go as Murray has declared war there.
Macintyre/Asham /Engelland....
Fortunately our tough guys out number theirs and can also play hockey... They would have to take out some of their regulars to fit them in too.
and F U Murray for signing that dead weight doofus
LOSER !
Feel free to tear up your Sens Fan Card there buddy.
Phillips has given a lot more to this team/city than you ever will.
