Bingo has been struggling as of late so it was good to see them get back in the win column.
The game took on some extra significance as Nikita Filatov picked up two goals and an assist, including the game winner. With all the talk around Filatov and potential return to the KHL, it was nice to see him turn in one of his strongest performances of the season.
When Sens GM Bryan Murray spoke on the situation last week, he indicated that they asked Filatov to wait until the end of November before making a decision. A couple more performances like the one he turned in last night and we could see Filatov get another shot with the NHL team
- While we are on the subject of young players, Sens prospect Mark Stone was named player of the game for the WHL in Game 6 of the annual Subway Series against the Russians. Stone had a goal and an assist in a losing effort. Stone's start should certainly be cause of excitement for Sens fans. He has tallied an incredible 20 goals and 47 points through just 23 games. Definitely expect him to have an impact at the World Junior Championships next month.
- Here is the latest prospect update.
- Bryan Murray addressed the media yesterday in Vancouver and talked a little bit about the potential for player movement. Murray indicated that he will make a move if he feels there is an area of need but he definitely did not sound like he's in any hurry. Also reassuring to hear that he will not mortgage the future to add that piece. You can see the full interview here.
