Craig Anderson has been in goal for each of the five victories on this latest run but will have a day off in the back to back situation. Great chance for Robin Lehner to make a mark at the NHL level.
The Leafs come in as one of the hottest teams in the NHL, including an impressive win over the Penguins last night.
Another young guy will get a shot but it will not be Filatov as originally thought. Instead, Bobby Butler will draw in. Alfredsson left the game against the Rangers after taking a Wolski elbow to the head and will not be available. There was no update on his injury which is being called day to day for now.
Filatov is a healthy scratch. I would assume the club had some concern about Konopka not being available and wanted to make sure they had a replacement ready.

GO SENS GO
I have a question... if it was brought up before I did not see it -- BUT if Anisimov was hurt from the Konopka hit.. as he laid on the ice 'appearing' stunned... then why was he not given the league mandated 15 min assessment in a quiet room? Did he even miss a shift since he was out on the 5 min PP? Does anyone else think he purposely 'sold' that hit?
And for Tortorella to say Alfie skated into Wolski -- really? Did he see the replay?
Interested to see what Shanahan does.
We have nothing to lose by giving Lehner some NHL experience and this should give Auld a clear message that he'll need to step up his game when given the next chance.
Sens also have upcoming back to back games next weekend as well, so should prove interesting especially if Lehner plays really well and the Sens can pull out the victory.
For a team that was suppose to struggle offensively, the Sens sure have proven most of us wrong (over 3 goals a game average) and have shown that this team is not a bunch of quitters and will fight until the final buzzer.
It's also nice to see the defense getting things together finally. With Lee and Carkner still in the wings should make for an interesting year for the SENS.
GO SENS GO! Win one for ALFIE tonight! And let's hope this crazy ride doesn't end for a while!!
Sandy Torts was right about one thing, Alfie did skate into Wolski, but what he failed to mention was that Wolski threw out his shoulder/elbow into Alfie's head while Alfie skated into him. Wolski knew what he was doing and he will get a suspension. This is Shanahan we're talking about, he doesn't mess around.
Hoping for a huge game for Lehner and the continued dominance of Michalek-Spezza -Greening tonight. Without Alfie this is a one line team we have and they need to be great tonight if they're going to beat a more balanced attack team in blue and white tonight.
With the way Gonchar, Rundblad, and the best offensive dman in the league Karlsson have been playing, we've been able to generate a lot of offense through the back end. They're really doing a great job of getting the puck up to the forwards. It's a joy to watch.
An absolute disgrace if that's true.
You can't be serious.
Guess Chris Neil will have to dish out some vigilante justice next game, then...
Me too. Can't understand why we can't ride Anderson for another game...This is THE SCUM we are tonight, after all...
http://chilisports.strikehost.info
But I might get home 5-10 minutes late.
The Leafs forwards better not get too close to him though... they will pay.
Let's see how many PP's the refs hand to the Leafs tonight -- it will definitely be one-sided.
As for Lehner, good call by Pauly Mac. Got to keep this kid hungry for NHL experience and it's nice to see Bobby Butt back in the line up. No reason to insert Filatov before Bobby Butt. Tonight's score ... Ottawa 5-3.
Konopka could still be suspended.
With this lack of suspension -- it's back to the old inconsistent shit from the last years of Campbell.
Agreed, however I only agree so that hopefully I will be proven wrong.
Elbow Kessel, then Grabocski, then Phaneuf, then Gardiner.
Take all of them out.
NO MERCY.
Then, against the Rangers take out Gaborik, Callahan and Lundqvist
NO MERCY.
REBVENGE!!!!
The target is Wolski and Gaborik.
As a Polish Canadian I have always loved wolski till yesterday. I want to see him suspended 5 games and see his head on a spear infront of parliament. You don't do that to someones captain... Thats on the same level as the Crosby hit during the winter classic.... Thankfully Alfie is tough as nails, apparently top 3 pain thresholds in the NHL.
Can you plse post the projected lineup of forwards, and defense pairings, now that smoke has cleared ???
Thx
Very pathetic, once he figured he sold it enough he jumped back on the ice.
Anyways glad to see Lehner get the start, rest Anderson for the next game.
Lehner has something to prove and I expect him to be lights out tonight.
I have no worries about Lehner.

Release the LEHNER !!!!!
November 9th NY comes to Ottawa. For the love of God boo Wolski people!
Thanks to SilverSurfer, for the accurate Lineup !!
What a joke
and yes Boo the shit out of Fagski too
You really can't get more blatant and deliberate than that. Add the fact that they were jawing at eachother 25 secs prior, shows Alfie got under his skin and Fagski decided to blindside him for it. That itself should be considered (if the jackasses even bother to notice) for anyone who still has the game. In the 3rd period check it out: With 8:23 left, watch Fagski and Alfie off the faceoff
It's a no brainer that he should sit at least for 5 games, like I said yesterday, if Wisniewski got 8 for his hit.
That idiocy warrants more if you ask me
Yup. Up there now!
I also can't wait to see Bobby out there tonight. Hope he snipes a couple. Also hope he just takes Alfie's spot andplays with DaCosta and Foligno
I also want Filatov to get some games soon instead of Daugavins. Not that he hasn't been playing well, but I just see more of a future/potentia l with Filatov. So he needs more experience playing with good players and against them as well
My favorite is DaCosta though...he has been an awesome player for us this year. As a rookie his play is just amazing. So much poise and skill out there. I hope he locks down that 2C spot by the end of the year
forwards:
Michalek - Spezza - Greening
Foligno - Da Costa - Butler
Daugavins - Smith - Neil
Condra - Konopka - Winchester
defense:
Cowen - Gonchar
Phillips - Rundblad
Kuba - Karlsson
Lehner with the start (as senschirp said) with Anderson backup Filatov will not be playing according to my source but was still called up. If Ottawa can score on the leafs early they might call in the backup who is some rookie who has been playing in the ECHL last year and be able to score on him easily.

So so so dirty. hopefully we don't get demolished while looking oh so fine.
GO SENS GO 3-2 SENS
Gs by Da Costa, Michalek, Big Bobby Bottle
The Senators must get their pound of flesh - how much does a jugular weigh?????
I just posted Neil will get you back in polish.
Well played DrSens, well played...
Hope the boys win it for Alfie tonight. GO SENS GO!
The Monster....Reim er is on IR.
THE MONSTAHHHHH....
)
. Does anyone have a stream?
Konopka out
Expect Phaneuf to run both Spezza & Michalek tonight to try to get them out of the game... Leafs are always favoured by the refs. How can such a truculent team gets so little penalties is beyond me.
Sens have 3 more games this week... another 2 back to back... so Anderson needed the rest.
That D had better play a lot better than they have been... Stand up for Lehner.
Let's go ROBIN LEHNER.
Why -- is Rosehill or Orr playing? Can't believe I'm saying this.. but they need Konopka.
I am VERY nervous. The Leafs are playing well.
And both goalies are a crap shoot.
Gonna be good. go sens goooo
STREAM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!! I don't care if the game hasn't started I need a stream!!!!!!
Well, every game I'm nervous, but this is CARDIAC. I just hope the Sens score first.
Bump for people late to the party.
Thanks in advance!
They have a monster on their roster? IS he mcquires offspring or is he just a freak of nature. Why is he or his name monster?
stream
http://www.firstrowsports.tv/watch/89276/1/watch-ottawa-senators-vs-toronto-maple-leafs.html
yup, he looks ravenous out there!
Both penalties were irresponsible plays by Greening and Karlsson. They're shooting themselves in the foot.
I am watching this one.
Sorry guys. LOL
WHAT A PASS!!!!!
Seems pretty even...
http://www.firstrowsports.tv/watch/89276/1/watch-ottawa-senators-vs-toronto-maple-leafs.html
I think people are starting to see why Runbladsson and I took our names from Rundblad... namely that he's really, really good.
Quoting Round Leaf:
Good point...It's ridiculous that Kypreos would totally discredit Rundblad's vision and Greening's smarts in getting behind them. Not even really a defensive brain fart, rather an incredible play!
thanks......:)
for the stream. Oh and it's the maple leaf's sportsnet
HAHAHA! "Can't remember which game it was.." IT WAS OTTAWA YOU FOOL!
Are these actual Leaf commentators or just Sportsnet ones?
The last time I checked, both Ottawa and Toronto and connected to Sportsnet East...just saying.
I'm impressed.
toronto commentators!!!
I AGREE.....
Ok, thanks for clarifying.
Kypreos is the worst of them all -- well maybe second to Glenn Healey. They are so pro Leafs they don't give any other team any credit.
They are HOCKEY reporters/comme ntars -- not just Leaf commenters. Leave your bias at the door. It's just sickening.
I wouldn't be so sure, I would have agreed with you before Philips got another contract(althou gh he has started to play somewhat better as of late).
I still wish we had just decided to go with Lehner this season over Anderson(strict ly because we are young enough and likely to be even younger next year so may as well get a year under the belt)
Early candidate for coach of the year? I'd say so.
And how Spezza and Winchester are the same person.
what homers him and Millen are
Only Bob Cole could screw up names worse than this douchebag.
Neither care about any team not wearing the blue & white.
At least in Ottawa -- you get Dean Brown... who is better than either of those.
Zebras are going to give this game to the Leafs now.
LOL. ME 2
I came to win, battle me that's a sin
I won't tear the sack up, punk you'd better back up
Try and play the role and the whole crew will act up
Get up, stand up, come on, throw your hands up
If you've got the feelin' jump across the ceilin'
Muggs is a funk fest, someone's talkin' junk
Yo, I'll bust 'em in the eye and then I'll take the punks home
Feel it, funk it, amps it are junkin'
And I got more rhymes than there's cops that are dunkin'
Donuts shop, sure 'nuff I got props from the kids on the Hill
Plus my mom and my pops
I came to get down, I came to get down
So get out your seats and jump around
Jump around, jump up and get down
Jump around, jump around
Jump up and get down
Jump up, jump up and get down
Jump, jump, jump
Jump, jump, jump
Jump, jump, jump
Jump, jump, jump
Jump, jump, jump
Jump, jump..."
It up !! Jay Spetz for hart !
nick kypreos is the ultimate pessimist as soon as the sens are mentioned.
THE SCUM WAS DEFEATED!
THE SCUM WAS DEFEATED!
THE SCUM WAS DEFEATED!
The weird thing about it... he was a Muckler pick...
The Toronto broadcasting media are downright BRUTAL.
On another note, Smith and Condra over this winning stretch have been the team's X-Factors by far. Those two guys do play well together, on the PK OR five on five.
How does he still have a job. Must have something on somebody.... If I was Leafs TV -- I would be totally embarrassed by this incompetent boob.
I hope that ass kypreos knows that the sens had a lot taken out of them from the rangers. They lost alfie and they came back from the dead to win.
Not so strange, both were obvious targets for the other's D. That's why "secondary scoring" is sooooo critical.
Sens Rock
On paper, we don't look like a team that can do a whole lot of damage compared to some of the rosters out there. But he's made us respectable. Kudos to Paul man.
Go Sens Go. A win in Boston would be freaking AWESOME.

The ottawa crowd did a great job drowning out the leaf retards, the more games we can win vs the leafs the less they will travel to ottawa, great game from the boys!
Go sens
What a game - these boys are fun to watch!
Glad I didn't have to listen to the broadcast - sounds horrible. I think I'd rather a "tired" star in the lineup than our captain out from a dirty hit.
There's no better feeling than beating the Leafs. I'm not even going to lie, I dont have anything against this current leafs team. Other than Phaneuf and Komisarek they're actually a likable group of players. It's their goddam retard fans that I hate so much and enjoy beating.
In yo' face leaf fans!!
The real problem is that the morons aren't travelling... the fools live here!
Getting sick of watching these games and listening to idiots,
In game centr it says you can select the audio feed home or away, this would be great if its works for the sens too, where's the feed from team 1200??
Cheers, I have center ice and I'm about to cancel it because of the audio feeds and sd cbc games on bell.
i think the big difference right now is maclean has his high end players delivering night in, night out and he's found a role for everyone else to fill.
I agree here, MacLean is doing a Jack Adams type job here, I mean look at our roster, its a joke and yet he has them competing night in and night out and winning games in all different scenarios...
I am starting to feel the heat a bit on my prediction for this team but I wont back away from it, yet...I still think we wont make the playoffs and hopefully we dont finish 9th or 10th, that would be such a waste.
Anyways Lehner has to be a honourable mention for highlight of the night, that save probably won us that game! wow!
