11-11-11- Alfie Day Roadtrip

For those of you that joined us on one of the two road trips down to Binghamton this past summer, you know just how fun these trips can be.

The good folks over at the Red Scarf Union and Ultimate Tours have put together another excellent offer and have asked me to help out.  So here are the details on the first ever Alfie Day Road Trip!

Alfie Day is an event no Ottawa Senators fan will want to miss. Join fellow Sens fans as we head down to Buffalo to watch the Ottawa Senators take on the Buffalo Sabres in the Belly of the Beast. Be there to cheer on Alfie and the rest of our boys in red!

The following day we ride down to Toronto where we will gather with other Sens fans and invade a local sports bar to give the enemy a taste of OTTAWA RED!

BE LOUD - BE PROUD - PRAISE ALFIE

Package Includes:

  • Round trips transportation to Buffalo & Toronto
  • 300 level game ticket to see the Buffalo Sabres vs. Ottawa Senators
  • 2 Night Accommodations (Double Occupancy)
    • One Night Accommodations at the Holiday Inn in Downtown Buffalo (620 Delaware Ave.)
    • One Night Accommodations at the Metropolitan Hotel Toronto (108 Chestnut Street, Toronto ON)
  • Group gathering at local Toronto sports bar (Real Sports Bar or Gretzky’s)

Sens Fans are proud fans – as well as Proud Canadians!

As such we recognize what our troops have done for us in the past and are consistently doing for us today. Without them we would not be granted the freedom to experience life (including trips like these) as we know it. While on route to Buffalo we will share a moment of silence for our fallen heroes.

This sounds like something! I'll see if I can come, and even if I can't, watching those games with you guys cheering on Alfie sounds like a great thing.

Non related, but does anyone know which song the Sens organization chose to be their goal song this year?

Would fans that live in Toronto be able to join the Saturday festivities? Being one of the few Senators fans in Toronto, this would be a great chance to have some comerades :D

I can attest that Real Sports Bar is a fantastic place to watch sporting events. I'd advise that if you can get a good idea of numbers attending, to book there ASAP. It will be packed.

Back in town, was in NYC for the long weekend and was able to catch highlights of the Sens...5-0 and 4-0 starts....well cant say im surprised.

Sure they didnt finish that way but we all know teams take their foot off the gas when up 4 ot 5 nothing. We got dominated for 40 minutes each game and played decent in the 3rd while the opponents slacked off.

I did watch the full games when I arrived this morning...

Keep it up and we end up 30th!

YAKUPOV!!

Buffalo?!? Why not Boston or NYC? I get the whole 11-11-11 thing, but buffalo? There may be a good opportunity to sell some insurance? How about a trip to 8 mile in Detroit?

I have seen the armpit of north America. It IS buffalo.

All this is, of course in jest...except for the armpit remark!

A trip to NYC would be sweet!

That would be a reach with the first pick overall, he aint that good. Maybe 4th or 5th.

I agree at this point he seems way out in front, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. Remember Couturier was way out in front last year, maybe Larsson was the only one close, and they both weren't drafted in the top 3. RNH came out of no where, and that's often what happens, people move up/down.

Back-to-back games against one of the perennial best teams in the league and then against our biggest rival in their home opener... with all the fresh faces in our line-up.

Yeah it sucks we lost especially on Saturday. If anything has been worrisome it has been goaltending to this point, otherwise we played two exciting games, got better as they went along and showed flashes of resilience and brilliance.

Get your head out of your ass Tookie. The only person here who thinks you know the first thing about hockey, or about being a Sens fan, is you.

exactly. If I had said this time last year that one Jonathan Huberdeau would be taken 5 spots ahead of Sean Couturier then they would have sent the men in white coats for me.
But what do I know? I'm sure Tookie watches all of Leksands game and has put together many compelling arguments as to why Yakupov is the de facto #1 pick.

Alfie Day - Seriously? Nov 11th is and always will be Remembrance Day...to call it anything else is dishonouring the men and women who served and gave their lives for the very freedom we take for granted.

Centre Peter Regin (shoulder) will return vs. the Wild
Filatov is going to be a healthy scratch, along with Butler
David Rundblad in for Brian Lee.

Yeah I hate to shit on anyone's parade.. I realize we chose that day because of his number, not arbitrarily... but still that is pretty much the worst possible day to have such a thing.

I hope Butler and Filatov can get their shit rolling and fast. If we are to be competitive this year we need both of those guys finding the right gear. I think Filatov in particular needs to show immediate improvement, some confidence before he starts to fall into the 'funk' that has been plaguing him his entire NHL 'career'.

On the other end of the spectrum, who would have dreamed that Dacosta would come out of the gates so strong? Wow! I hope he has another great game tonight.

@Rush

Filatov is fine the only thing I see he is doing wrong was hanging out with butler at practise today ..Butler on the other hand is just falling to way side played like shit in pre season cant crack the line up and is screwing around in practise "does he ever wanna play"?
Cant wait too see the line Greening-Spezza -Zibanejad this could be something in making Speed size and skill

Ive seen Yakupov live a couple times and if you haven't I suggest you should this kid is the real deal ..He is fast physical and has a amazing shot ...

And Forsberg isnt what we need are LW is going to be solid with Silfverberg and Michalek

@ Nizzy

I've seen the youtube videos of Yakupov just like everybody else... I'd hold off judgement between the two until at least after the world juniors.

And I really hope if the organization is in the position in June, that they won't base their decision on whether the player plays right wing or left wing.

we'll see... we will see. Ovechkin-esque or not, I don't see the organization jumping at the opportunity to bring in more Russian players.

Wow...take it easy people. They aren't dishonoring anyone here. Those who fought for our freedom would be proud that we take every moment we have to enjoy ourselves and live life to the fullest. Don't be that guy and make something out of nothing!

I'm interested in the trip but already live in Toronto. Anyway a package can be put together for others in my situation, or if we could get more tickets in Buffalo, I could drive myself down for the game.
