Is there a schedule published anywhere for this tournament?

I live in the area and would love to take in a game or two.

I am disappointed that Silverberg isn't on the list. Is he already back in Sweden? Does he want to be a Sens full time?

He will be staying over there for the duration of the season. Plan is for him to come to NA next season.

CANT WAIT FOR HOCKEY SEASON!!! Every day, I check all my hockey blogs and forums and I just get more and more excited for the season! Im a student in Toronto, and for the first time in a few years, I can afford to pay for cable TV! Hence, I get TSN!!! Caaaaant wait for hockey to be back.

Oh, and for what its worth, I want to see Foligno turned into the best third line winger in the NHL. A third line of Foligno-Smith-G reening would make my day (in a few years of course)!

Go Sens Go!

Not that this is news but just got this notification in a pool

Although it's just speculation at this point, the Islanders might be a good trading partner for Ottawa if they want to part ways with Filip Kuba. The Islanders are believed to be interested in acquiring a blueliner and they still need a bit of help getting over the cap. Kuba's production has dropped from 40 points in 2008-09 to just 16 points last season, but he's still a serviceable defenseman and a change of scenery might be to his benefit. Additionally, his $3.7 million cap hit should push the Islanders above the floor. From Ottawa's perspective, trading Kuba would open the door to Jared Cowen and David Rundblad both being on the Senators' opening game roster. Stay tuned.

(no Kuba is not on my team lol)

I saw this on Rotoworld too. They quote the Ottawa Citizen as a source. I would have been more excited if the source was outside Ottawa.

Matt Puempel is gonna be a gem for the future. Hope he cracks the team immediately next year (2012-2013). A late 1st rounder like Corey Perry and Mike Richards who will hopefully live up to his potential.
What happens if Zibanejad makes the team? Who comes out? Regin? Foligno? Da Costa? Winchester?

I don't think so - last time I did the math as long as we have Filatov, Cowen and Rundblad counting against our NHL roster/cap we're okay without Kuba.

Okay - just hit capgeek and it actually would put is just over 200k BELOW the floor. Something that I'm sure we could easily fix. That's assuming we take $0 back in NHL salary that is.

Or if Da Costa makes the team we're fine anyway.

Not a bad 3rd line there... could be a real pain in the ass. The defense for the rookie squad appears to be pretty young and inexperienced.. but Lehner...he will stand tall. He wants to make it to the NHL in 2012.. so I expect him to have a very good year.

The forward lineup looks pretty good. Come on show up Kadri..

Kuba is one of only 3 left side D... Cowen & Rundblad are both right side... so they won't replace Kuba.. who plays left side if Kuba is gone?

I'm pretty sure if that's the only thing keeping Kuba here the coach would be happy to try Lee, Carkner or someone else on the left. I wouldn't worry too much, at some point 1 of them will have to make a switch if Cowen, Rundblad, Karlsson and Gonchar are all right side D and part of the plans beyond this year.

I really like that rookie camp roster ... it better dominate the shallow depths of the other organizations!

I would assume Hoffman & O'Brien are past being part of this tournament roster.

Looking forward to seeing how much work Wiercioch, Zibanejad and Da Costa have put in this summer.

Can only invite so many players I suppose. Hoffman and O'Brien will both be key players in Binghamton next season and the team knows what they have with the other three. This is about giving some of the recent draft picks a chance.

Not to pick on you Sandy but I laughed pretty hard when you called the defense in the rookie tournament "young and inexperienced". Also, Cowen plays left side D, but has the ability to play both.

I'm excited to see some of the new draft picks play. It's a rookie tournament, so it's basically a hybrid of CHL and AHL talent. It's, theoretically, a step up from their usual opposition and it's nice to see the people we heard about on draft day actually play, and play together. Chemistry can be developed at this tournament and it's a good way to get everyone comfortable. I enjoy this tournament very much and I hope some of the games are aired somewhere.

Stefan Noesen - Jean-Gabriel Pageau - Louie Caporusso

Jared Cowen - David Rundblad
Mark Borowiecki - Eric Gryba
Patrick Wiercioch - Jordan Fransoo

Interesting lineup of players for the Rookie Tournement. Good size on defence & in net & it will be interesting to see who plays with who on the forward lines.

Puempel - Zibanejad - Noesen
Petersson - Da Costa - Grant
Prince - Caporusso - Hamilton
Kramer - Pageau - Stone
Cowick / Culek

Cowen - Rundblad
Weircioch - Gryba
Boroweicki - Fransoo/Godfrey

Lehner - Machovsky

Man I'm re-watching all the interviews of the 3 1st rounders of this year's draft. I like the picks we drafted in their own fashion. Each kid has their own uniqueness and hope by next season that all 3 crack the team if 1 or none of them make it this year. I haven't been this stoked for the upcoming season in a long while. MacLean has taken everything he has learned from Mike Babcock which is a huge boost for us. This team will look almost entirely new in the coming years. Go Sens fuckin go!
