With the Sens set to celebrate their 20th season, there will be plenty for fans to look forward to this year.
One thing we have known about for some time is that the club will wear a Heritage jersey as part of the festivities. Last night, the blog Icethetics has released an image of the jersey fans can look forward to next season.

More on Heritage Jersey
Not a fan of these, like 67's barber pole look mixed with the blackhawks Heritage colours.
They had a chance of doing something unique or atleast different but they go with something we've seen before...
Having a French shield is absolutely pathetic and we will get mocked for it especially from the Toronto fans. When will they stop pushing this useless language upon us that only costs us billions of dollars each year and gives back nothing in return?
ps. Poor islander fans. Never thought I'd prefer to see the fishtick man logo.
Dont hate the language cause your to dump to understand it!We need more french fans from quebec to stand up to those leaf fans
LA's new road jersey looks pretty sharp though.
Yeah the LA jersey is probably my favorite of the bunch - highly marketable as well, they'll sell like hot-cakes I'm sure.
Don't want them or need them! What’s the benefit of understanding French? It’s not even in the top 10 most widely spoken languages in the world.
May 6, 2009 A new report conducted by the Fraser Institute finds that Canada is spending up to $1.8 billion annually to conform with Canada’s federal bilingual mandates.”
I find ours to be bland, colourless, the white and red jerseys pop, they have nice lines and the logo is nicely detailed.
This is just beige, red & black stripes with a big O in the middle.....not exactly creative.
I've always been unsure about the barberpole, but I could get behind this...
Yes the key importance here is that it is a "heritage" jersey. A nod to old times, what jerseys looked like back with the original Sens, the style, the simplicity...
Anyone who was expecting a jersey version like what they might wear in the movie "Tron" will have to wait until our third jersey for 2012-13 season is unveiled. Haha.
Where they can reply with: Alex Daigle...
I understand but who the hell wants to see that!

Going to be really interesting to see who wins that trade over time. I liked the move at the time, but if Tarasenko is the real deal, its hard to stomach that given our stockpile of dmen.
I'm sure the marketing people will be distraught when they read my views.
Pointless exercise - we didn't trade Rundblad for Tarasenko, we traded him for that pick, you might as well say we traded Rundblad for anybody else that got drafted that day. The person the sens could have earmarked for that pick could turn out to be the worst 1st round pick in the draft.
It's not a direct win/loss comparison.
If I recall correctly that was the BAP by far with that pick and the "reason" we traded was to stay away from Russians.
We will wear this what? Three times or so this season? Giving a shout-out too our roots... Some people (not me) will probably love this jersey as a collectible. I don't have a problem with this at all... *shrug*

And not everybody has the same idea of who is best player available. See what we did with the 9th pick in the 2005 for proof of that.
I just believe trying to assess the winners or losers in a trade, especially if it involves draft picks and the average fans lack of knowledge regarding the grading that each team has settled on is generally pointless. All we know for sure is that BM considered Rundblad the BAP compared to about 200 draft eligible players at the point.
If Rundblad has a decent career for the Sens, which I believe he will, I'll be happy and won't give a crap how Tarasenko or any other player that some other team took later that day does.
You really think that people will mock the jersey because of the french?
I'm really surprised that no one really brings this up, but I'm afraid that the jersey will be mocked because of O on the front which a lot of other fans will say is a zero.
Ottawa has been burnt by enough russian players.
Even if Tarasenko turns out awesome, he might not make the nhl for another 2-3 seasons if he comes over at all. Add to that the number of russians in the league that lack heart and I'll take the deal we made.
He's a great player Johne, no doubt. But that risk of the KHL will always be there. Anytime things don't go his way he will threaten to go back. Especially since his father is a coach in the KHL I believe. There will always be that pressure on him.
He's risky.. that's for sure.
Ottawa has been burnt by too many Russian players (excluding Volchy) I can see why Murray shys away from drafting them.
11 times...Schedul e is somewhere on th net.
This can be said for Filatov aswell, high risk.
The french on it does not bother me as I am not buying one.
It would be weird to buy a french Jersey here in Florida.
I would want a english version but it is a great idea to have a french version for our french speaking people in Quebec.
If I lived in Quebec or spoke french I would want a french version not english.
Im surprised no one has mentioned anything about this jersey that is now being sold in the sens store?
There's a huge difference between Filatov at a 3rd rnd pick set against somebody like Tarasenko who cost a first rnd pick and/or an already highly thought of dman prospect.
I don't think anybody truly considers Filatov a high risk for the Sens.
I saw a few of those being worn at games, it's not a true jersey, it's more of a sweater I believe. It's basically what the jersey will look like, but it won't be made of actual wool like that sweater.
The Hockey Night in Canada schedule is out and the big winner is the Montreal Canadiens, who appear in 28 contests this season. Toronto is next at 26 with the Winnipeg Jets landing in 22. The Senators are the least-favoured eastern team, appearing in 20 HNIC games this season.
What a little bitch you are. Crying that we're gonna be teased. Grow some balls. Seriously, what a low-life inbred small and petty way to think. Get out, travel and get some perspective.
Yes Tookie indeed.. but losing a 3rd round pick is a little different than losing a 1st round pick.
Montreal & Toronto are original 6 franchises. They have the most fans in this country... so they will get most of the broadcasts being CBC, Sportsnet (RDS of course) or TSN.
The issue with me is some Russian players use that as leverage in contract negotiations.
Ottawa had bad issues with Yashin, Kaigarodov (sp?), Zubov to name a few.
Radulov is another example of a player who went to the KHL even though he had an NHL contract.
It's a little different now in the NHL for Russian players as the KHL is a high paying league where they can play in their home country. There are a few Russians that really just want the NHL but for some you never really know.
Yakupov will probably be the 1st overall pick next draft. But as we have seen in the past teams have let some of these very good Russian players slide in the draft as they are scared of the KHL possibility and losing that pick.
I know that "somebody" will eventually say this, so I'll just beat him to the punch. Yakupov has already indicated that he is determined to play in the NHL. The fact that he came over at age 16 to play in the OHL is also pretty good sign that he's committed to playing in North America (keep in mind that Ovechkin and Malkin played junior in Russia).
The guy looks like an all world talent and I have no doubt he'll play in the NHL for a long time; where I'm hesitant is if he fits in well here... If Filatov pans out for us and we still tank, then go for it. Otherwise I hope we stick to Canadians/Swede s.
I'll put any Ottawa blunder up to Leafs' ones anytime and win.
Ottawa didn't trade for Daigle, he was a poor draft pick. Toronto, since you are a fan, has made some of the worst NHL trades period, emphasizing how terrible their GMs and MLSE are.
the draft speaks for itself...
you think there is suddenly no good russian prospects?
this isn't a hate thing or a prejudice thing, we all loved volchencov and im quite certain most of us are huge fans of numerous russian players including ovechkin, malkin, federov, bure etc.
reality is most teams are not willing to gamble a first rounder on a russian player right now unless a) he's chosen to come over at a young age or b) is an exceptional talent...
pull your head out of the sand, its about hedging your bets and getting the most for your assets.
(Either that or floridasensfan is gonna have to stream it for us all!!!)
Still not sold on the bid 0 on the front though.
Je m'en calisse de quoi que les Leaf fans va pensee.
Boom, you nailed it bud, Yakupov & Galchenyuk are not typical Russians, hell, Yakupov is infact not from Russian descent, he is a Turk!!.
They traded a Adam Mair and a 2nd round pick for Aki Berg, haha not a bad deal at the time, where if you had any hockey knowledge, Berg was a highly touted Finnish defenceman that just never fully developed, he just ended up being serviceable.
And as for GM's being terrible, you can look at the Muckler era, everyteam has its share of bad trades/signings.
Probably the biggest mistake in NHL history belongs to us......Chara.
Well that pretty much says it all about Yakupov & Galchenyuk, damn now I hope we end up dead last or at the very least trade up to get one of these guys!
This would help the Senators a great deal. Infact it would probably be a major building block for future Cup runs!
I agree, Chara leaving Ottawa was a BIG mistake, but not the biggest. I think that happened on June 23, 2001 when the New York Islander traded Bill Muckalt, Zdeno Chara and a 1st round pick (ended up being Jason Spezza) to the Ottawa Senators for Alexei Yashin. Cha-Ching
YUP IT THINK THE CONSESUS WOULD BE THAT THESE TWO ARE LOW RISK / HIGH REWARD.
thats funny because I always come here to find the streams.
the hockey coverage here is terrible, they even black out local games.
I am looking into buying the Center Ice package on the Dish network for this season.
they do not air TSN HNIC Rogers or anything like that here.
Football Football and Football is all the sports you get here on TV, outside of the odd basketball or baseball game.
Yeah have to agree with you there, Islanders have been pretty pathetic since Milbury and Wong...
I think Campoli still has some upside. Certainly serviceable in the 5-6 spot..
wrong Tookie Chara was a UFA this is one of the worst trades of all time
Russ Coutnall for John Kordic
Kessel, for Seguin, Hamilton, and another pick will go down as one of the worst of all time, in the coming years!!!
Agree Tookie - Are you speaking of the trade that brought him here, or the choosing Redden over Chara bit? Both are pretty brutal :)
Little bit of revisionist history here gents ... Chara wanted to be Captain of a team. He wasn't going to be that here in Ottawa for a very long time. He was not driven away. He chose to leave for greener pastures (which is his right as a UFA) & he seems to have made the right choice.
The Sens may not have completely gotten their moneys worth out of Redden's last 2 seasons (38 & 36 pnts), but he was a big part of the Stanley Cup run (10 pnts in 20 gp) while Chara & the Bs missed the playoffs.
So tactically, things worked out rather well for the Sens. Strategically, he made the right decision. But be clear, he chose to leave, he wasn't driven away. Sens weren't going to take the C off of Alfie's chest just to keep Chara
