After two weeks of excellent contributions from SensChirp readers, it's time to vote on who will be the next SensChirp Contributor.
Each of the three finalists brings something a little different to the table and I'm asking for your opinion to help decided who the winner will be. The poll appears on the home page of the site. Hope to leave it open until Sunday evening so vote while you can!
I'll then announce the winner in Monday morning's blog.
Thanks to everyone that took the time to participate or provide feedback on this contest. I know this was something a little different but I appreciate you sharing your support and patience over the last couple of weeks.
Good luck to the three finalists!
I'm logged in and everything, and when I try to vote I get a blank white page that says "Invalid Token".
I have the same problem with the poll.
I just know that the new contributor is going to be trying very hard to please us, so let's just be thankful and send any concerns privately to Chirp or the author.
Just my two cents. Hope I'm not alone.
Adam
Tried 3 different browsers with multiple different security settings...same issue
Cleared Cache and Cookies and all that Jazz as well to no avail
Just to let you know
completely agreed.
thats why I like that Chirp is only taking the poll to see if everyone is on the same page as him. If its Chirp's final call and I do believe that it is, he kinda runs the site you know, that no one is going to say 'Chirp should have picked a different writer'.
just check and the count is now at 6 votes ...so i guess the votes are still counting
Wild, 'Nucks, and Jets tickets bought!
Happy shopping everyone!
Also getting the invalid token error.
I don't think so. Way more than 6 people have tried to vote.
'invalid token jerk-face'...
why the attitude?
So far 8 votes have been recorded and 7 are in favour of Day 3, with one vote for Day 2
here's a free 3rd party polling solution that might work instead.

completely agree Adam, all the authors have proven themselves, so lets read and enjoy, and keep comments directly to the topic of the article. We know some will choose to go back and debate the author, but I suggest we simply ignore that, IMO of course
Gather for a beer after work with a quick show of hands?
@ImNotJojo
Sounds like a great way to usher in the weekend for sure!
Alfie artical has taken a big lead, but looking forward to seeing who wins.
Which makes me think not all the votes are being calculated. I've tried it a couple times, sometimes getting the invalid token error and other times not.
The only solution is a do-over in the middle of this purgatory known as the offseason.

thanks Johne interesting article,
it seems that D-men have been overvalued, and teams are then stuck with these dead weight d-men... sens are not imune with Gonchar and Kuba either
If this is purgatory, I don't want to see hell.
Before I attempt to vote, could you please refresh my memory on the "who was who" mapping between rounds 1 & 2?
I want to vote based on the total submission and not just on round 2.
Thanks.
Got mine too!
What other games did you choose?
Think so... I saw some in Orleans last week.
10 votes now, so you may be right. Wouldn't you being logged in as a user and making a vote only allow 1 vote for that user? Has anyone tried casting a vote while not logged in to see if that makes a difference?

Anyone I've talked to gets the error, whether they have an account or not, are logged in or not. Any answers as to why certain votes are still going through?
Quite frustrating.
I was just going to copy that note... Why did he even bother to sign a contract. Now Murray has to go out and try to find a replacement for him...probably would have been easier if he had of known this before hand.
Campoli still needs a job. highly doubt he'd take a 2-way deal, but maybe he really really liked ottawa?
Send Kuba down... LOL
Hot DAMN that is a well written piece, even if some of the projections I found a bit depressing, ie no first line or pairing players that are "above average" plus the Lehner projection as well.
Agreed. I'm even amazed that with the negativity of the Rundblad review in comparison to Zibanejad, that their standings weren't reversed. But the worst case scenarios presented are still pretty decent.
Phillips? I couldn't think of a more insulting thing to do to someone that we just signed to an extension and has been nothing but loyal to Ottawa and their fans.
Anyways, I'm glad I have another sport for the summer - F1, but they're only on once every two weeks! Gah! Summer is good to catch up with friends... but for entertainment, its the worst!
Sweden beat Finland today 8 - 4 -- Zibby had 1 assist.
Yesterday.. USA beat Finland 4 - 1. Shane Prince got 2 goals... way to go Prince.. Noeson got a penalty.
The guy was nothing short of brutal last year. His is a signing I beieve we are all going to regret. My feeling is that when a player over 30 years of age plays as poorly as he did in a contract year the odds are much better that he will continue to decline rather than have a bounce back year. I hope I'm wrong but it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of posters here are calling for his demotion by next year at the latest.
I appreciate the kind words. Thanks for the support!
Do you think that maybe what they had in net for the first 4 mos had something to do with the play of the whole defense. They were so scared to make a play figured any screwup would be in the back of the net.
D played much better down the stretch.. they had a goalie.
I think this makes me wish the season was on NOW!!!!!!!!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAHHHHHHHHH
I think the Phillips signing was a good old boy sign thinking of the team second but it is what it is.
I don't dislike the guy and he is a great person but as far as hockey, he does not wow me.
I hope he wows me this year but would have rather a younger player.
Sorry for the confusion.
It's nice to see some of our guys being recognized by the rest of the NHL, giving me one of those warm, fuzzy feelings about the upcoming season.
Sunday at 8:03 AM.
The Daniel Alfredsson to HHF, is leading with 68% of the votes ( 24 votes out of 35 ballots )
So, maybe the glitch is fixed, and you can now go ahead Chirp !
Still not working for me. I still get a white screen with invalid token.
How are some of you voting.. Blackberries, etc?
They did a stand-up job on the design of the site, but time and time again there is something wrong with functionality.
Yea there have been far more issues than I would have hoped. The biggest issue is many of the elements of the site are out of my hands and I'm left waiting for someone else to fix it. Frustrating.
This seems to be stalled, and voting is somewhat sporadic,
Would suggest that the results from Aug 11th to Aug 14th,
be recorded as is. You should then simply ask your readers, to vote under this comment, as to which Day they would vote, and then tabulate all of the next 3 days of votes, and add them to existing results. You could then be in a position to name you Next Contributor !!
