Another game of note features the Senators taking on the team from Winnipeg (which I assume will have a name by then?) in the annual Kraft Hockeyville Game. This year's game will be played in Conception Bay South, Newfoundland.

Monday, Sept. 19: Ottawa at Toronto, 7 p.m.
Wednesday, Sept. 21: Boston at Ottawa, 7:30 p.m.

The NHL will release the full regular season schedule. We already know that the Sens will play the Red Wings in Detroit's home opener and a draft version of the schedule had Ottawa playing their SBP opener against the Minnesota Wild.

WInnipeg is supposed to be using a generic NHL logo for the draft (terrible idea). Later this weekend will be the revealing of their name. I hope it's all smoke and mirrors and at the draft they suprise everyone and show us the new JETS jersey...
People are veritable retards sometimes... every pundit with oxygen to breathe is saying that despite the WINNIPEG JETS are what the fans want, and despite the fact the MTS Center will be GO JETS! GO! every game, that ownership would be stupid to waste revenue by NOT coming up with a new name / logo / jerseys.
Stupid.
This is Canada we are talking about. Sure a lot of fans will have 'old' Jets jerseys from before they relocated, but how many need new ones? The new style, the new Rebook, tweaked to modernize it, the third jersey everything. JETS jerseys would sell like hotcakes. Milking revenue by switching that all around and forgo the JETS name would be a huge mistake.
For the sake of the hockey fans there, I hope they do the right thing and just call the team the Winnipeg Jets.
Also which self respecting Jets fan wouldn't want a jersey from the first year back in the league.
I agree go with the Jets. No sense in pissing the fans off right out of the gate.
That is a less contentious issue I think. Certainly the classic look JETS logo could at the very least be the third jersey if they really want to modernize the logo for the first jersey there are probably lots of creative things they could do there. It's a lot about branding but the least they could do is honor the history of NHL hockey in that city and the dedication of the fans. Personally I quite like the old Jets logo before they left.
Probably some sort of generic NHL crest of maybe just a blank sweater. I believe that's traditionally what's been done in cases where a team is in the process of being moved (Phoenix, Colorado, Carolina). I doubt they would have something ready by the time of the draft.

Apparently a generic jersey with an NHL logo on the front... It's a stupid idea because I am sure that there will be big photo opps with the draft pick and there will be no association to the Winnipeg franchise other than the faces of the GM, coaches and the kid...
Hopefully they do the right thing and bring out a jersey with the team name on it!

Just wondering if you guys can tell me why the team from Winnipeg was and accordingly to most of you should again be called the Jets? The only place i've been to in Winnnipeg is the airport, and if you are naming your team after that place it's kind of sad. So tell me, why JETS?
