Fitting that Ryan Keller would score the winner. The Captain of the Baby Sens has been a heart and soul player and one of the fan favourites down there all season.
You really have to admire the resiliency shown by this hockey club throughout the playoffs. Down 3-1 to the Manchester Monarchs and with their season on the line, they scratched out an OT win and kept their season alive. Two more overtime wins and the BSens had survived a serious first round scare.
Robin Lehner and the rest of the Binghamton Senators never looked back.
This run may not have captured the attention of the Ottawa media but fans really should realize just how impressive the Binghamton Senators have been. In what looked like it would be a long and drawn out off season, the BSens have given fans something to cheer about.
Can't wait to make a trip down for the finals! Go BSens Go!
For those of you that registered for the Game 5 road trip, emails will be sent out regarding refunds shortly. I strongly encourage you all to join us for the trip to catch a Calder Cup final game. Early indications are this trip could be HUGE! There is a ton of interest already.
Will post details on that trip as they become available.
GO BSENS GO!!
Lehner gonna take MVP, future goaltending looks bright ... btw dont hear Bingo fans complaining about Lehner anymore :)
It's a shame because I was going to tonight's game but one of my friends canceled on me so it was called off. Maybe there's a chance that tickets to the finals won't be too hard to get.
16th ranked organizations don't sweep their way to a championship final.
Are the refunds automatic Chirp... or do we have to do something?
You will get an email either tonight or in the AM presenting the options for a refund. We may give people the option to carry over their reservation for the Finals trip!
Don't take it personal, TSN only reports on the Bulldogs and the Marlies because they are GTA based teams. Even though the B-Sens are the Senators affiliate, they're still an American team, so TSN isn't likely to care.
Anyone know if the Calder Cup Finals are going to be televised?
I think the Hamilton article was picked up from the Canadian Press (which Canadian news agencies can subscribe to)..I doubt Bingo has any coverage by CP (since they're in the US)
Congrats B-Sens and B Murray
I like the way you think, that way us under-agers in the States(under 21) can still booze up and its way cooler raiding another team's barn. Too bad they're down 3-1 :(
Binghamton was down 3-1 against Manchester... Too bad Hamilton does not have Lehner! Hahaha.
The sens put on a coach trip for employees and selected season ticket holders for Game 3 and are planning a trip for a game in the finals. The RSU have also done the team proud.
The frankly pathetic Ottawa print media virtually ignoring the story is not surprising when you consider how trashy and generally ill-informed they are. Baiting management and players is their bread and butter - it may sell papers but I believe the majority of fans think the Ottawa press is a joke when it comes to the Senators. The lack of column inches for the bsens playoff run says far more about the press than it does the organisation or the fans.

Got this up on the video tab now too.
(I hope Hamilton gets crushed. Would hate to give Mtl fans anything to cheer about...)
Im also hoping for a quick end to that series so we can possibly see a game in Bingo as early as next Saturday.
Just speculating though.
easy there cowboy!
Apparently, there's some other kind of cup-based hockey competition this year. Apparently, the 'Calder' in their league is some sort of 'best rookie' trophy!
I kid because I love - seriously though, happy for the Chirpers that are interested that your bus trip is happening.
7-2 now.
I'm on my way to buy some lotto tickets because of this.
ive said the same thing before, but others have told me that those rankings dont update and its the ranking from last offseason, so i am certain it will jump to atleast 10-12th after this season if not better
Houston only has 1 and he's ranked 16th.
Bingo's game is offense and Houston's (except today) is defense. Interesting match up.
tsn finally put up an article on their website under the AHL section. im sure they read your message
Every one of them has its pros and cons. All have their share of has beens and up and comers. Some favour offence because of the big ice surface. Others excel in physicality and strategy. Some pay in cash, some others are likely to still be in business 20 years from now.
I don't think that anyone can honestly proclaim one to be better than another because each is so different that they bring out different skills in their players. None other than the NHL is "well rounded".
The AHL is good for the NHL due to similarity in rules, officiating, ice size and length of schedule. Teams are also generally close enough to their NHL patron to facilitate monitoring of prospect development and call ups.
Each league has its merits and trying to rank them is a futile endeavour in my opinion.

Do they carry the Calder cup on a regular TV channel?
I'm fairly sure CBC has in the past..
Whatever this was it got pulled
Nice job boys, a Calder Cup would go a long way in bringing some pride back into the organization after such a brutal season.
Might actually make a trip to the finals if it's in Hamilton....
Now Lets take it all!...
and should make for a very interesting Sens camp next summer!
INTERESTING ARTICAL COMING OUT OFF DETROIT THIS MORNING.
WOULD HE BE A GOOD CANIDATE??
ALSO, RDS IS REPORTING THAT JOE NIEUWENDYK HAS SPOKEN TO CORY CLOUSTON, NICE TO SEE THAT NHL TEAMS ARE INTERESTED IN BRINGING HIM IN.

As for tv, I'm hoping the NHL network will show the games. A couple of years ago I remember they showed the Calder Cup that Chicago won.
I wonder how that works out to get a game on Sat in Binghamton.
