Sens Sign Derek Grant

The Ottawa Senators have announced the signing of 20 year old forward Derek Grant, to a three entry level contract. Grant will spend the rest of the season in Binghamton on an amateur tryout agreement.

Grant was a fourth-round pick in the 2008 Draft. He just finished up his sophomore season at Michigan State University, racking up 33 points.

In two years at Michigan State, he scored 20 goals, 43 assists and recorded 54 penalty minutes in 76 games.

Looks good so far. It just came up 3-4 mins ago. Are you going to have a mobile version at all? A nice home screen icon for iPhone users?

Thanks for the feedback Johne. Actually spoke to the designer about that website box asking to have it removed.

Will look into it. Welcome!

another thing, when creating my profile, the timezone was something way off, theres prob some defaults in the setup I'd go with eastern time and english for the language haha. it will take everyone some getting used to, including myself but this will be for the best. Blogger was really holding you back from customizing things that everyone was requesting.

I think the comment box at the bottom will make sense once we switch it to oldest to newest.

Good point about the default language and time zone!

just another suggestion, maybe make the refresh button for comments bigger, pretty nice to be able to refresh comments without reloading the entire page but the button is like 2 pixels and i bet alot of the readers will miss it :D and f5 your new site to death.

lol, truth. a simple text hyperlink saying edit would look much more professional, beware of me making a billion more minor suggestions over the next few weeks, your web designer is going to hate me.

also maybe changing in the profile where it says Name to be Display name so that people don't get confused, I know I was, I was expecting my username to be the name displayed. It's all a part of change, but more user friendly never hurt anyone.

Might wanna look into some of these extensions to get your articles out to twitter and facebook automagically.

http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/social-web/social-auto-publish

Also the site def needs a favicon asap, looks so naked in my favorites without one.

I updated it with sens colors

The file you created in this way will have the extension .ico. Copy the file to the /joomla/templat es/ directory and name it favicon.ico

I like the mobile version of the site. Easier to read on the iPhone. But, where is half the stuff?? No Yost or forum. Also, please please please add a homescreen icon. It's really easy to do, see here:

Also, I don't see a login option on the mobile site or a way to switch to the full version.

great penalty killing by the sens.

that penalty was bogus.

nice hard hit by Lessard. I guess dilemmas like the whole Chara hit is making refs nowadays skeptical about hits.

soon it'll be out of the game.

Is there a way to change the gray background? Every other comment is gray on gray.

Give 'er a go.

Great site btw.

You guys have no idea how much flexibility this site change gives Chirp, the possibilities are pretty much endless, just patience now.

Immediate changes I would work on:
Need site favicon
Comments -
Fix name color
Change text color
Fix timestamps

The site plays a dirty little trick on you with a sponsor link. It says you have 1 new message and so you click it and get taken to another site. Since the site is new I didn't know that this was a sponsor link
