GO CANADA GO!

Four teams remaining. Canada will play for a medal either way but I think fans and players know that only Gold will do.

The women got there's last night and now it time for the men to do the same.

Tonight's game against Slovakia is by no means a gimme.

The Slovaks have already beaten Russia and Sweden in this tournament and have proven they are not to be taken lightly. Add in a red hot Jaroslav Halak and it's pretty clear Canada will have to be at their best tonight.

Canada will try to do the same thing to Gaborik as they did with Ovechkin. Hit him early and let him know it's going to be a long night. Same goes for Marian Hossa. Should be interesting to see how Slovakia uses Zdeno Chara and if they bother trying to match up him against any Canadian line.

Luongo will get the start. The lines have really been clicking the last couple games so there's no need for Babcock to shuffle the deck.

Puck drops at 9:30 PM Eastern time.

The Americans and Finns meet earlier in the other semi-final. Should be another terrific day of hockey.

GO CANADA GO!!!!!

this is such an amazing time to be a hockey fan. Team Canada has one gold so far, and will be shooting for another, the Sens have been on fire and its going to be exciting to see them back on the ice, and the trade deadline (one of the most talked about days of a hockey fan's year) is close.
I love it.

The Maple Leaf
Our Emblem Dear,
The Maple Leaf Forever.
God save our Queen and heaven bless,
The Maple Leaf Forever.

At Queenston Heights and Lundy's Lane
Our brave fathers side by side
For freedom's home and loved ones dear,
Firmly stood and nobly died.
And so their rights which they maintained,
We swear to yeild them never.
Our watchword ever more shall be
The Maple Leaf Forever

First game at 3 PM will feature the Finns and the Yanks !

As much as I would prefer the USA to win, so we can meet them again ,I do not believe they will defeat Finland !

Now, at 9:30 PM , when the puck drops ,I hope that Team Canada comes out like gorillas again, and
blast the Slovaks even more than the Russians !

With Halak in goal, we are facing a tough netminder, but the more we shoot, the more will get by him !

Looking for a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes, and want to have our players shutdown Hossa, Demitra and Gaborik !

We need also to rattle Chara, and force him to make mistakes !

Canada 4 Slovakia 3

GO CANADA GO !!!!!

Looks like I'm going to be in the Tremblant area tonight.

Anyone know if there are any sports bars in the area????

There are a bunch in the Village Chirp, can't think of any by name but there are a few good ones near the base of the mountain, great spot to be watching the game tonight for sure, go early though!

can someone stop one gun mitty from posting these annoying songs.

Tremblant:Le Shack at the bottom of the mountain is the best for sports. Could also try the Cariboo, but your view might be obstructed by people dancing on the bar if the game goes late.

I'm hoping for the Finns to defeat the US. The US just got by the Swiss (with help of refs not calling the tripping penalty in the last 2 min -- that probably determined the game). The Finns are mostly NHL players who know how Miller plays.. just hope they put it to good use.

As for Canada-Slovaks -- hit Gaborik hard (he's made of glass) -- run Hossa. Chara can't handle speed so go in hard on him. Rush the net -- Halak can be beaten.

Go Canada

Don't think the Slovaks can stop our depth and top 3 lines coming at them. Watch for Crosby and Nash to erupt. When a train is full of momentum and confidence, it can't be stopped. Meszaros is also a useless siv. Just need a few big saves from Luuuuuu.

GO CANADA GO!

Word, this isn't singalong by the campfire, those songs are pretty cheesy and patriotic to boot, which in itself is groan-inducing.

Anyway, whitewash of the Slovaks tonight, they have no hope. U.S. defeats Finland as well, Canada U.S. finals baby!

"Jugger" - you consider The Maple Leaf Forever to be an "annoying song" ?

During the day of a big hockey game no less

Not much of a Canadian are you ?

Chirp:
I have a cottage at Tremblant and am up there all the time, I've watched many big playoff games as well as some olympic games in 06 up there. Expect a great crowd. My suggestions to you are:

Le Shack: A few big screen and good set up, also have great burgers and putine

Casey's: Very nice long bar, it's a local hot spot and if you go there, go early. That would be my choice. I think they have a deal on cheap pitchers for the Olympic games

Le Diable: Bar/pub, no big screens but there's a few TV's, homemade brew and the best Caesar sald you'll ever have.

Yahoo Pizza: Small but rowdy place. Good hang for after skiing fyi. Very good pizza, if you want a quieter scene this would be your place.

Bullseye: Another long and fancy bar with a beautiful plasma widescreen. Steak place.

Casey's or Diable are your top places.

Enjoy the game man let me know what you decide. GO CANADA GO!!

Look for Chara to get 35 minutes.

I think Canada's speed might expose him a bit.

I notice Kozlov from Atlanta requested a trade, He has not perform well this year, but he is a PP specialist 76 points last season 43 of them on the PP. May be a nice fit if we did not have to pay much for him.

A little off topic I just read that Ryan Shannon has been resigned to a one year deal.
