Live Blog Tonight

Big game tonight at Scotiabank Place.

The Bruins are just a single point behind the Senators in the tight Eastern Conference so this is definitely one of those four point games you hear about.

I'll be live bloggin' this one for theScore.com

See you over there!

Hey Sens fans,

Don't know if anyone read the hockey news' report of a DREAM trade for both the Sens and Calgary flames which would send Ottawa the PP defenceman they need in Dion Phaneuf and Calgary the #1 centre they lack in Jason Spezza. This trade would never come to bear fruit but numbers wise this trade i've come up with works dollars wise although as a sens fan this totally benefits us more.

To Ottawa:
Dion Phaneuf
Daymond Lankow
Curtis McLhinney

To Calgary:
Jason Spezza
Philip Kuba
Brian Elliot

C mac,
Read the same article.

However I liked the actual trade the Hockey News proposed much better.

To Ottawa:
Dion Phaneuf
Dustin Boyd

To Calgary:
Jason Spezza
Chris Campoli

Much better trade.

PLEASE!!! before any spezza lovers get all over me. Yes I do watch and understand puck. I played against that wuss for 3 years in junior. over rated.

anon 6:15 is full of shit its frickin hilarious. Spezza's one of the top centres in the league and is not overated just havin a bad season. anyways sens win 2night 3-1

Why did Phaneuf fall out of favor in Calgary? It'd be a blockbuster no doubt, but wouldn't other teams be interested if either of these players were available? Glad it's just a writers idea and not a rumour.

Anon@6:14, speak for yourself. I like my backend just the way it is.

off year for spezza??? LOL. He is one of the best centres in the league. Top 15 or 20 isnt one of the best. Its adequate. Thats he is. what a joke with these spezza lovers. Just cause he wears a sens jersey it doesnt mean you have to be so biased. spezza bitches

Anon at 5:55...you're unbelievable, if you played againt him in junior than you would know he is not overrated, because he lit it up his whole junior career, even playing for those losers the Ice dogs, where Cherry traded away his best player to see spezza develope better, we are not talking about creating yourself in the EA NHL games and putting yourself on a team..lol, He is in the NHL and makes $7 mill a season, which must mean he is a pretty damn good hockey player...Get yourself outta daddy's basement and get a life loser!!

Let's hold tight on this trade for Phaneuf, trading Spezza would be a mistake. We do have Jared Cowen and Pat W coming along, we'll be just fine holding on to Jason.

What we trade Spezza and 10 games in to next season, we'll be whining about needing a #1 centre.

Stop w/ all this trade Spezza nonsense.

Jeff .. come on man lol you have no idea what your talking about we have 3 nhl d-man out of 6 lol and u like it woow lol Well im glad your happy cause anyone who says that phaneuf wouldn't be a beast your lost and take the 416 down to the rest of the idiots ..you tool

The only Canadian players drafted in the 7th round by Dallas between 1999 and 2004: Jeff MacMillan and Bryan Hamm. Neither fits your description. I call shenanigans.

FYI, Spezza has an NTC.

If he's such a beast why did he get beat up by Spezza?

Phaneuf is always heard in rumours because he is overrated.

Anonymous said...

wow i tell ya its tough to be a sens fan after games like that

Anon@7:20, a little double entendre by Jeff...methinks

5:55. Blah, blah, blah, you played against Spezza, and you think he's overrated. Stats don't lie son, he had tremendous junior numbers, and he's got tremendous NHL numbers.

If you think it's impressive that you played against Spezza (which is assuming of course that you're NOT making it up), think again. You're not impressing anyone. I also played junior hockey, with AND against a number of NHL'ers, and I can safely say that NONE of them were overrated. I'd bet that I'm not the only poster here that did. Fact is, the best players make it to the dance, and guys like you and I end up selling used cars or pouring beers. Actually, I should say that guys like YOU end up doing that, I got an education after hockey and I've carved out a pretty successful career for myself. Based on your spelling skills, I'd say you did not.

Let me know if you have any good deals on used Volvo's down at the lot son, I could use a 2nd car. :)

Spezza is a slick passer doesn't get dirty has back know knee issues .. Phaneuf 24 yrs old can have and get high average mins and points he fights and highlight reel hits and scores for a dman ... u seriously think speeza is better then dion .. you really have to start watching are defence lol look at them tonight woow you guys are lost... YES Cowen and karlsson are the future but if we can grab dion think about the future not the present damn... We can win without him

Anonymous said...

Ok Anon 10:14pm, who do we replace Spezza with; it's not like our farm system has any blue chip top 6forward prospects.

Anonymous said...

Imagine:

Phaneuf-Karlsson
Phillips-Volchenkov
Carkner-Picard/Campoli

Those are actually passable NHL defensive pairings. It'd be hard to make up for Spezza, but we could always trade draft picks, Kovalev and/or defensive prospects for a good 2nd-line centre. Just bump Fisher up to the first line, and use Regin and Kelly on the 3rd and 4th lines. Or bump Regin to the 2nd and see how he does after he's built up some chemistry there.

Maybe this:
Michalek-Fisher-Alfredsson
Kovalev-Regin-Cheechoo
Foligno-Boyd-Neil
Ruutu-Kelly-Winchester
Donovan/Shannon

-- PS

p.s. Draft some damn forwards, Murray!

I've been looking all over for this!

All that lunacy is temporary. Any grafter can make money. The entire San Sebastian swindle. I mean, by what standard? My approval or disapproval would be irrelevant. I was not consulted about that statement! Miss Taggart, he said quietly. He walked slowly away from her.

He shrugged, stepping around her so he could sit to put on his boots. Nialdlye suckled her nipple as she yanked the ties that held the blouse closed. Never before had the nearness of a child made her want to be a mother. They had him clean in moments. The one she wanted to lash at was herself. She matched his grin as he rose. She rubbed her belly. Tossing her ponytail behind her shoulders, Eyrhaen got to her knees and crawled forward. Eyrhaens here, he announced quietly to the room, waving for her to pass by him. She had that under tight control. Would be nice if she mentioned the word love. Go away, go away, go away. It would be strange if she did. He kissed her before she could answer, lips pressing to hers. His fingers laced with hers where she clutched the mattress. She certainly felt the wave of release that pulsed off him. She shrugged, sidestepping to lower herself to the edge of one of two couches. His demeanor this night was different. There should be more of you in this world. Easily, she wound her legs around him, steadying herself as he turned.
