(UPDATE 12:24 PM)- Here is the weekly prospect update courtesy of the Sens Twitter feed.
(UPDATE 11:10 AM)- I suppose some congratulations are in order. The Ottawa Sun is reporting that Mike Fisher and Carrie Underwood are engaged to be married. Whatever keeps Fisher producing offensively sounds good to me! Congrats to Mike Fisher.
Huge game tonight for the Ottawa Senators as they play host to Northeast rival, the Boston Bruins.

The Bruins are nipping at the Sens heels in the Eastern Conference and currently sit just a single point behind Ottawa in the conference standings.
Great news for Donovan considering it looked like his season could be over shortly after the knee injury he suffered.
Chris Neil isn't far off either.
Michalek-Winchester-Alfredsson
Regin-Fisher-Kovalev
Ruutu-Kelly-CheechooCampoli-Hennessy-Shannon
With the NHL roster freeze in effect the rumours should quiet down the time being. There's still a hole or two for Bryan Murray to plug in this line up but that will likely have to wait until the New Year.
Not sure if there's a live blog tonight or not but check in later for an update.

Looks like Mike Fisher and Carrie Underwood are tying the knot.

Bruins in a shootout?
The Sun is reporting on some Fisher news today, is it true?
Would have been a lot cooler to see how Brodeur could handle a 2nd game, Elliott just makes me nervous plain and simple. But perhaps a little competition will (hopefully) make Elliott play sharper.
So now that they're engaged, when is she going to sing at SBP?
:P
Tonight is a very important game! We need these two points really bad, the b's are going to be desprate after a loss to the leafs so we gotta come out strong.
CONGRATS MIKE AND CARRIE!!!!
For those who think we should start Brodeur: Sure he was solid in his NHL DEBUT but you don't ruin that by sacraficing him to the Bruins. And Elliott carried the mail while Leclaire was out. Sure he let in too many softies but he played over .500 and that's really all you can ask from a back up - particularly when there were injuries in front of him as well. Elliott earned this start a long time ago. Brodeur knows his place.
Though, I'm sure first NHL game adrenaline played a role, the kid was great in the last game. I think Brodeur's play warranted a second straight start. Then again, you don't want to undermine the confidence of your fulltime backup goal tender, so, it's probably a smart move to put Elliott right back in there (like him or Not). Brodeur will get his shot eventually, and I'm sure he understands that.
Elliot is a strong backup, possibly even a #1 once he gets more XP. Softies are normal, and as time goes on and he gets better and better, those will be less and less frequent. I mean look at Marty Brodeur, he still lets a softy every now and then, they are part of the game, deal with it people. If the team is playing strong in front of the goalie, that's what makes all the difference in the world.
Congrats to Mike and Carrie.
I smell a trade request to Nashville in the future for Fisher...
Congrats to Fisherwood!
So where will Carrie and Mike live?
Will she come live in Ottawa?
Will Mike live in Nashville?
Will Mike get traded to the Preds for Weber in some sort of multiplayer deal?
Lets get the rumours started! haha
Go SENS Go!! Beat the Bruins tonight!
Bring on the rumours!! I love it. Congratulations Mike and Carie! Hope he can stay focussed on hockey when he loses his virginity (our good christian Mike would never touch a woman out of wedlock). Haha seriously I wish him the best. GO SENS GO, Ottawa in regulation tonight!!!
Hmmmm... Carrie Fisher... visions of that skimpy outfit in Return of the Jedi.... Good for Fisher, she is a beauty.
let's see, food poisoning, equipment fire... anybody have any other ideas or would it be too obvious?
LOL! Carrie Fisher, never thought of that! Ahhh, the golden slavegirl bakini...
Gotta win this game!
Congrats to Mike and Carrie! They make a very cute couple!
GO SENS GO!
This marriage will mean more Carrie Underwood in Ottawa, at the games, and therefore better attendance... mark my words! Good for Mike, Carrie, and the Sens organization...
Sing it girl!
Let's hope Fisher makes Team Canada - his value will never be more inflated - then we can dump him at the deadline.
So glad you found this place Bert...
I cringed when i saw that lineup....so frigging bad. Clouston needs to smarten up, putting winchester with alfie and michalek is just...i dunno it makes no sense to me. Why not put more deserving players in like kelly or cheechoo?!
Hey Chirp,
With Neil, Donovan and Foligno returning in the weeks to come, im pretty sure we will see some kind of roster move, im not crazy of healthy scratches and with the lines working right now, you can only expect that neil and donovan find themselves on that 4th line with regin of winchester.
Alfy-Winchester-Michalek
Foligno-Fisher-Kovalev
Rutuu-Kelly-Cheechoo
Donovan- Regin - Neil
This means Shanon and Campoli as healthy scratches.
what trade would you see happening.

THREE DAYS TO SNOOPY ?
(Santa - I've been really good and deserve an early present)
senschirp ...my man ...that's gold ...well played.
Word on the street is that she is preggers as well...
Lucky bastard!!!
Neil skated this morning too Chirp.....
Yep, your right MJ.
They hope to have Neil and Leclaire back Wednesday.
Oh and I will be live blogging tonight. I'll post a link later this afternoon.
Interesting article listing Mike Fisher as the second-best forward for Canada's Olympic hockey team. Of course, take this with a grain of salt but it does show his value based on numbers fed into a computer.
Here's the article:

Good to see Mike so high on the list ... and he still will most likely not be on the team. He deserves much more respect than he is getting.
GO SENS GO! (and cograts to you Mike!)
kgv
Fisher + Underwood = attractive children that can play hockey AND sing the anthem before the game starts ?
I am really excited for this game tonight! Hey Chirp any word on if the B's will be starting Thomas? I would love the Sens to light him up!
GO SENS GO!!
.... Anon at 12:44... you do know that this is the line-up that has been iced the last three games, where we only lost to one team... the team first in the league. with all the injuries, i think this is a pretty good line-up.
But thanks for saying its terrible and providing some excellent suggestions. Cheechoo at centre you say? Well aside from the fact he is a winger... he is also slow. I love him, but your centre needs to be able to move.
Kelly? Could we put a guy with worse hands on our first line? He is excellent at what he does, leave him where he is.
Oh and please stop questioning clouston. I think his record speaks for itself.
I agree that Fisher deserves to be considered for team Canada but is he a consideration outside of our fan bubble? I don't know if he has the 'name' to get the nod, no matter how well he stacks up against other CDNs THIS season. I imagine us fans might be getting a little lip service when the local media asks team canada reps if he is on their radar. Watching the CBC on saturday he was not even on the radar for forwards. I hope he gets the nod but I seriously think we fans may have dillusions of grandeur for Fish.
If Fisher does go to nashville I want the liquid icegirl team to be part of the package we get back.
Well I am some what happy for Mike Fisher, I'm guesing me dating Underwood is never going to happen I can finley put this chapter of my life to rest. I now let my wife know.
why did you post that sens prospect list this week? Only three of them even played a game over the last week!
On a positive note, Hoffman is looking superb, but I cant decide if hes good or if he's just playing on a really good team????
What are your thoughts?
hey SensChirp, how come Lehner inst going to be suiting up for the Swedes at the WJC?
@Anon 12:44
You obviously haven't been watching any games lately.
Winch has been playing fine.
imma really happy for all you sens fans, and imma let you finish.....but the sens third line is the best third line in all of HOCKEY!!...in ALL OF HOCKEY!!
just sayin.
Jon,
Fisher is a consideration outside of our "fan bubble." Lindy Ruff, assistant coach for the 2010 Olympic team, said as much before/after our game against the Sabres last week.
So yes, he is a consideration outside our circle.
mtl has to win tonight in regulation to help ottawa out. also if ottawa can get a regulation win on boston tonight. that will be super! i fully think the sens can do it tonight.
Fisher deserves to be on Team Canada as much Mike Richards or Shane Doan.
Brodeur was brought in to spot fill for Elliott and give the team a chance to win. He did his job well.
The extra start for Elliot tonight is better for the team in the long-run because Elliott will be the backup come April, not Brodeur.
Dave Young - you beat me to it. Another point though, Kelly's line (with Ruutu and Cheechoo) has been great as a third line. So no point in breaking them up even if Kelly was a finisher or Cheech was a centerman.
Clearly that anon post just goes on the pile of another troll poster with no interest in being intelligent at all.
Spezza got married and look what happend to his production....
Fisher is just starting to become worth his $4.2M Cap hit and the bugger gets engaged?! Crap.
Fisher deserves to be on Team Canada more than Richards or Doan, as he has the hottest hand right now. Richards is in a slump, and so is Doan who didn't get much of a vote of confidence from the experts other than 'he's been on most Team Canada's other years, so he probably will be considered'
Touche Hax, thanks for grabbing that point, as I did miss it.
Anon 3:11 - please don't steal my line.
Cassie
Thank you for partially reading my comment. Ruff is giving lip service to the ottawa media. I'll bet you $50 he won't be on the roster.
lookin at the prospects update and a few names are sticking out to me as our future such as Mike Hoffman, Andre Petersson and Jakob Silfverberg. Anyone actually see this mike hoffman play because his stats are pretty amazing because the Q aint an easy league to play in.
Hoffman has been on fire all season long. Let's hope he keeps it up
