Game Day in Anaheim

Sorry for the late game day post. Been running around a little bit today. Tis the season I suppose.

Anyway, as I'm sure most you have heard by now, there has been some serious line juggling heading into tonight's game with the Ducks.

Foligno-Spezza-Kovalev
Michalek-Fisher-Alfredsson
Ruutu-Kelly-Cheechoo
Regin-Winchester-Shannon

And in a bit of a surprise, Brian Elliott will once again start in goal. Here's hoping he can get back on track tonight.

There will be a live blog tonight for anyone that is interested. CLICK HERE to join in...

I am surprised to see Elliott in goal (though I am a fan!) and am very glad to see Kovalev with Spezza!

Anaheim is on a downward spiral as we are...Bobby Ryan and Getzlaf are sick though. I'm going to be an optimist and say that we squeak out a 3-2 win in OT.

Greg.

Go Sens!

If fisher plays as well as he has been, that "second" line is going to be very dangerous. And I guess we are about to find out what Spezza and Kovalev can do together.

If we get a solid showing from Elliott the Ducks should be scared!

It will all come down to the first period. If we are down a goal or two rather quickly, then the "here we go again" syndrome will kick in...again.

I know it isn't all on Elliot, but he (and the usual suspects) just have to be better tonight.

yes, these lines are very solid. We're gonna see some good offensive production tonight guys. Cheechoo needs to get a chance at the top line with spez and kovy, hes been playing well as of late and needs another shot at a top 6 role. I'm sure he'll get swapped into that spot at some point in the game.

Very surprised that Cheechoo isn't being given a shot on the top two lines given his effort in the last two games.

Not surprised to see Elliot starting again. I think Clouston is trying to get him to face his slump and get out of it.

Here's to no too many men on the ice penalties tonight!

Lets go sens! :D

10 bucks says that Foligno complains of dizziness by the end of the first and eventually pukes on the bench midway through the second.

I never was a big Cheechoo fan, But the way he played the last cpl of games he should have a shot on the top line. I still hate BM

Get real, Cheechoo's been playing well enough to be considered for the top line in Bingo. Maybe.

I think the lines are in the wrong order haha... that second line is going to be the top line tonight, both in scoring and in ice time.

Should be Cheechoo-Spezza- Michalek.

Can't understand why they don't give it a shot.

@sam

have you watched the last few games? while as a whole the Sens have struggled, cheechoo has been by far our best player and one of the best players on the ice..trying actually watching the games before making comments...

Like the lines tonight though...have wanted to see spezza and kovalev together..I just hope Cloustan actually gives everyone some time to gel together and now just try them for like half a period and then split them all back up..hopefully Elliot can get his game back on track,..he has been scary the last few games...

i believe that the coach has not been very simpithetic to Kovy and spezz on a line together because of Spezz not wanting to shoot the puck more.If we see alot of dangling and passes tonight then don't think you will see alot of this line. this season has been a fully loaded bazooka of weird goals and the coach wants more pressure and more shots(well known hockey saying)ITs NEVER bad to SHOOT THE PUCK!

Go Sens Go!!!!

As a hockey player, Cheechoo is great guy in the locker room. Do all of you nut huggers think that he's going to get to 20 goals this year? I'll eat my words if he does.

He needs 30 to be viable at his cap hit, but i'll settle for 20.

Chirp @ 6:54 = SHOGG

Seriously though, Clouston used the Regin + Fisher combo in the preseason and it was dynamic, why won't he use it now?

And I agree, Cheech sure deserves a shot with Kovy and Spezza.

If anyone could get someone going it would be kovie and spezza and if cheech gets the chances like michalek and fisher are why not ill try anything to get a spark

Is Clouston stupid or what ?
why is freaking Elliott still in net, Does Clouston wants to loose a fifth game in row? Elliott can't stop a god damm beach ball, get the clown out of there before it's to late. I am not impress with the rookie coach once again, just making stupid decision all the time, that's why Ottawa will not be going anywhere again this season. Melynyk needs to get in there a get a coach that do have experience like Hartley, but no instead they go with the little guy that doesn't know much winning and the big time show. Sens fans we are looking at another long season and some more choking along the way.

We could have gotten Martin back, but we let the habs beat us to it. Murray is getting worse every year.

Hartley? Serious? You have been watching too much RDS (for those who don't, Hartley is now a RDS analyst and his fellow RDSers serve as his fan club).

There has to be reasons why Hartley has been passed over by every team (more than 50% of teams in the NHL) that have changed coaches since he left ATL.

No need to get a reject coach.

We need to do a clean sweep. A Pierre McGuire/Bob Hartley tandem will bring us a cup in less than three years. Come on Eugene, what are you waiting for?

The Sens are close to sending Brian Lee to Carolina for Aaron Ward and a draft pick.
