Hey Readers,
Sorry about the lack of posts lately. Been pretty busy with work lately and haven't had time to chime in with a weekend post.
All that matters is the Senators have now won three straight and sit atop the Northeast division and second in the Eastern Conference. Ottawa is off until this coming Monday when they host the conference leading and defending champion Pittsburgh Penguins.
I'd be very interested to hear your comments on Saturday's victory over the Thrashers even though none of us had the privilege of watching the game (Thank you CBC...)
More coming later today...

Monday vs pits
I am sick of the CBC and their blackouts...what is this....communism? I thought we were a capitalist society...therefore, cant I watch what I want?????
Saturday's without a sens game...LOL...wow
The game was phenominal! In the first 5 mins of the game we skated HARD! And played like the senators should. Kovalev actually stepped up, skated well - and as a result had his first goal as an ottawa senator!!! Alfredsson and Fishers chemistry together is amazing! They are both gifted skaters, with plenty of talent and not only did they both score but that line is a keeper! Spezza was playing and skating hard attempting set up however I think he needs a good sharp shooter on his line with more chemistry and we would see more of the good ol Spez!
Neil is finally stepping up to his 2 mill contract, and I don't mean by pummeling the other team. He was scoring, and skating well - looks like he might be worth the 2 mill after all!!!!
What do you mean "none of us" had the privilege of watching, i saw the game, but then again i was at it haha
PS. They play the Pens on Monday not Tuesday.
Nice to see Kov get one. Hope Regin is ok. He has been a great asset. Go Sens!
Chirp, The game is on Monday against the Penguins.
The Pitt game is on Monday
isnt the game on monday?
Nice to have some goals from 3 different lines last night. I know it is early but it is nice to see fisher racking the points up.
Go Sens Go
P.S. I think the game is Monday night senschirp.
I believe Pittsburgh is in town to play on Monday - not Tuesday.
I was at the game and thought Carkner really stood out again. What an excellent player. Was he an oversight all these years? He he poise, team spirit, and shows up every game.
Karlsson on the other hand, makes me cringe everytime he has the puck. This guy is a liability. I think he lacks the maturity and experience to play in the nhl right now. He will surely excel in the future but he looks like a defenseless puppy out there.
Really solid game by Fisher, Alfie, Spezza, and Neil.
I was agreat game to watch.
Hey
Did anyone catch Don Cherry's comment about "Our Team"/Toronto having a scorer (Kadri), but not playing with them now (London Knights), and showing a nice highlight goal from London.
He sort of caught himself after he said it, and said Toronto in place of "Our Team"...
Chirp, the game is Monday, not Tuesday...
A hockey blogger with a job? Who knew?
Ok, so we're on pace for 123 pts - even with the two duds we got for Heatley...so no complaints here.
It was nice to see the team stick up for Alfie after he got nailed last nihgt, sure the hit was clean, but when your captain gets hit that hard you have to step in and do something.
Kovalev finally got going, Fisher seems like he wants to prove last year was a fluke, and Spezza is still goal-less...Must be getting used to life without Heatley.
Oh, and the game VS Pittsburgh is Monday night :)
Hey! Game is on tomorrow evening (Monday), not Tuesday. 7pm start I believe.
TC
Sorry, it is a 7:30 start, my bad.
The game is on Monday, not Tuesday.
Games on Monday Chirp

It's great that they are racking up some wins. Good defensive effort by the forwards every game. If Spezza, Kovalev, Michalek, Cheechoo and Foligno can start scoring, this will be a playoff team.
The defence looks rather shaky with Kuba missing on the second pairing though.
The game is tomorrow, Monday. Not Tuesday.
The no TV thing was CRAZY! I'm here in Calgary with Centre Ice and GameCentre and the game was NOWHERE! I think I'll email the Sens and the NHL to let them know they're idiots. BTW, Gamecentre is awesome. I didn't realize BOS had come back, so I rewound the game and watched the comeback.
I was at the game and was really impressed! They really played like a team, when Alfie got hit there was three guys there that jumped on him!
Friendly little note... the game vs the Penguins is on Monday.
cheers and thanks for all the work you put into this.
what's the comment "WWW" mean?
Pitts is on Monday bro!
FYI, Ottawa plays pitt on monday night at SBP...
With Ottawa's 3rd and 4th line playing so well, who comes out of the lineup once Shannon returns? Thoghts?
The game is tomorrow (Monday) at 7:30 PM.
I listened to the game on radio.
Question: How come Neil scored, assisted by Foligno? Did Clouston change the lines late in the game? I would like to see Cheechoo with Spezza and Michalek personally, they absolutely need to get Spezza going ASAP and Foligno is playing more like a 3rd line player right now...
I was at the game. It was a solid 4 line effort by the Sens. There wasn't a whole lot of big time defense on either side. A-Train laid the smack down on some unfortunate Atlanta soul like he did in his previous two games. Schubert got the business from his Ottawa teammates all night long, seems like he gave them an extra reason to get up for this one all game long. They hit him pretty good 3-4 times it was pretty funny.
Other than that Regin once again looked great. Kovalev put on his best show as a Sen so far. Kovalev-Alfie-Fisher clicked really well all night long. Michalek finally got moved off of Spezza's line (where they had no chemistry) and Spezza immediately started having more impact on the game. Spezza really worked his ass off tonight. He must have had 15 takeaways it was unreal. The points will come from him because he really deserved like 3 or 4 tonight.
Honestly all around it was a good effort by the team. Carkner is proving me wrong and showing he deserves to be in that 6th-7th D role as of now. I'm not sure what that means for Lee. However I think Lee will be part of our D in 3-4 years when Cowen and Wiercoch make the jump and Carkner probably won't so it's short-term gains for long-term losses perhaps.
That being said it was a very fun game to watch. Lots of animosity and lots of pace on both sides. The Sens are for sure showing they have a lot more depth than in previous years.

Other than the fact that I'm uber pissed at the Leaf-centric CBC for not televising the game, I'm quite pleased with the Sens so far.
I'm still concerned with the lack of goal production at the top end of our lineup (Kovi finally got one, though!). Hopefully they will start to get some goal-scoring consistency soon!
The true test comes Monday vs Pitt. I think this will be a challenge to Spezza to match games all over the ice with Crosby and Malkin, two players I think he feels he is in the same category of.
Players like Crakner and Karlsson are going to see the most talented team in the league, leclaire will be under siege, everything will be tested. Our speed, our patience, our talent, our coaching.
If the Sens hang in there with Pitt, which I think they will, I think you'll see the team take a huge step, even if they lose a close one.
Get Shannon on Spezza's line. Spezz needs a spark and Shannon always seems to provide thta for whatever line he is on. I'm expecting a huge game from Spezz on Monday, he always seems to play well versus the best in the league.
Thanks for the correction on the date of the game everyone. Made the change

WWW means Win,Win,Win.
SC,
Can you find out anything regarding the status of Ryan Shannon other than the "out indefinitely" report coming from the club. Seems obvious that he has a concussion but would be interested in knowing whether he is practicing, skating or is idle. Thanks.
personally i think that the first line/2nd line whatever it is (spezza is the first line center thats why i call it first line...)
should be michalek spezza cheechoo...
seeing as how kovalev fisher alfredsson worked so well...
michalek spezza cheechoo is basically the same line as the sharks had when they did so well... michalek thornton cheechoo... why not give michalek and cheechoo a shot together as they had great chemistry before and spezza would have to shots to load up...
foligno regin neil is a hell of a 3rd line (hopefully regin is ok) personnally as much as i love shannon i think because neil stepped up and is playing so well i really think that it would be unfar to neil to throw him back on the forth line... also dono ruutu and kelly all playing there role awesome it kinda give shannon the short stick...
if we could somehow package shannon, lee/picard and a pick that is an amazing package of players i wouldn't want to see go but if it could get us a good top 4 defenseman back i would be for it... winchester could be on the block too...
but we could also keep everyone maybe drop one player to the minors or something and have great fillins as we are have a good amount of injurys already...
(get well soon kuba, regin!!!)
So has our one and only Donovan earned a full time spot yet?
It figures that we don't get to watch an awesome game by the Sens. Instead we get to watch the leafs have their ass handed to them, once again!
Thanks CBC
I'm very optimistic, i knew the offence would take a while to gel, but we are winning 2-1, 3-2 games that we always, ALWAYS used to lose...if Leclaire stays healthy, i can honestly see 4th-5th in the east...
Not trying to jinx it but three in a row with none of the big guys doing much is a good sign really even if it doesn't sound good.
I was at the game, Fisher and Regin stood out all game. Michalek, although he did not score caused about 5 turnovers and is probably our best penalty killer. I was also very impressed with Chris Neil and especially Chris Kelly, it looks like the warrior is back and he played one of his best games ive ever seen him play last night, Brian Eliott was very steady as well.
On to the negatives, I thought Campoli struggled again. When Kuba comes back I would not be surprised if its campoli sitting out instead of picard.
The CBC is based in Toronto and the decision makers for them are all Leaf fans (if the pansys even watch hockey-probably the road to avonlea) Therefore it does not occur to them there are two hockey teams in Ontario. So, we get to watch a team that is now 0 for 5, who have not made the playoffs for the past three years, instead of the Sens. Awesome logic.
This is a great time to gain momentum before playing the defending Cup champs tomorrow. I hope Spezza and Michalek can find some chemistry, if they do our Sens will be pretty tough to beat.
The Sens did play a very good team game last.
I thought that Michalek, Regin and Fish all stood out. Alfie played well too. Spezz and Kovy were decent.
I really worry about Picard and Campoli. I just don't see them as long-term contributers to this team. Picard's two assists gloss over what was otherwise another poor performance. I'd rather have Lee up here playing and send Picard down...even at the risk of losing him.
Anyways, the games Ottawa has won so far are games that they should win. I'm really interested to see how they play against the Pens tomorrow night. Hope they can steal one from them....
Great win for Ottawa to build more confidence. I listen to it on am radio. Thanks CBC!! Like what the hell. Montreal was on late so their was no reason they could not do two early games. Anyway Michalek's name was HEARD a lot in this game and seems to be everywhere on the ice. I like this. Fisher is a great fit for Clouston's system and it doesn't surprise me that he is rebounding nicely. Volchenkov is a beast once again. Thank you Clouston for letting these guys play to their potential! Blow Leafs Blow! but more importantly Go Sens Go!!!
Was at the game and can honestly say it was the mos complete game the sens played so far this season. Karlsson is still struggling a bit, and campoli can be better. But full marks to Alex Picard, he's not hurting the team and he's racking up points.
I'm loving the physicality that phillips and a-train are bringing, its brilliant! and Michalek is a workhorse, he is awesome. He'll get his points soon, but maaan did he cause some turn overs.
In the past the Sens number 1 line could single handley win games. I know Mike Fisher is a player who gives 110% but he`s not our number 1 center so why is he playing with our top 2 wingers? Fisher should be putting up the points when he has linemates like Alfie and Kovalev, but I don't think his line was as dominate as a Spezza, Alfie, Kovalev line would be. The last few games the Sens have been winning with our depth, but it's time we assemble a real number 1 line that can dominate! To due that we have to put our best player makers with finishers, this will become more apparent when we face elite goaltending or teams.
I was not too impressed with Michalek - in many ways, our 4th line has been our best. Carkner impressed me - he's a keeper
I think Regin has an injured shoulder -- at least it looked that way to me. He left the bench favouring it quite a bit. I don't think he will be playing on Monday. I hope Shannon is ready as they will need him.
Too bad. Regin was playing good hockey and he is a real smooth skater. I think Karlsson although only playing 4 reg season games should go to Bingo to get some more experience playing the North American game. He is going to be a good player.. but maybe too early to put him in the lineup right now. I think they should bring Lee back up and send Karlsson down..
wouldn't hurt to drop cheechoo and michalek to the fourth line.
a true test monday cant wait to see how the boys do
4th line??? what would that accomplish? cheechoo hasnt been given the chance yet and i think he should , just an all out good feeling i get seeing him in red.....nice to see that even tho fishers getting good points you guys are still always bashing him!!! good job ppl- i hope he makes you all choke on your own foot this year
GO SENS GO!!!!
11:29
I completely agree with the Michalek-Spezza-Cheechoo line. I was gonna come on here and make the exact same comment about how it would just be switching spezza for thornton too. I think we should at least give it a shot. I do however think that our third line should be foligno-regin-shannon.
As for sean don, Id like to see him with a fulltime spot on the team, but when players come back from injuries, he is honestly the only player i think it makes sense to scratch.
I was at the game last night too, amazing forecheck, great passes and just a solid effort overall from the boys
@mikep
a dominating top line is only really good if you can pull it off without hurting the depth. I think right now we don't really have to worry too much about putting together a solid top line, but since we have a few good combos for the 2nd line (Kovalev-Regin-Fisher, Kovalev-Fisher-Alfie) and a potentially solid 3rd line of Foligno-Shannon/Regin-Shannon/Neil and we're golden for depth.
I too would like to see Cheechoo get a shot with Michalek and Spezza on the top line....
another possible dominant 1st line could be Cheechoo-Spezza-Alfie. Think about it...Cheech is criticized for being slow and now able to keep up, which is why so many people say he hasn't scored as much since his 56 goal season. Well, think about it, when we had Heatley, he skated around the slot, couldn't skate very well, and waited for a pass while Alfie and Spezza did a lot of the work. This would allow Cheechoo to park in the slot and shoot, essentially doing what Heatley did and therefore scoring more goals? maybe i'm just optimistic, but if you put Cheechoo in that role i think he can light the lamp, it takes one hell of a shot to score 56 goals in the NHL in one season....
michalek is awesome, he's just bashin into everything, it's weird how an offensive forward can not score but still be so effective
volchenkov is playing amazingly too, you didn't really see too many of those monstrous hits last year, kinda scary that he's gonna be a free agent
karlsson... he looks lost out there but it hasn't screwed us over yet somehow, he has a lot of improving to do
super psyched for cowen next year
why is everyone complaining about the game not being on?
You ARENT entitled to watch the game. It's not an essential service.
If you wanted to watch the game so bad, buy a ticket, i did
@1:17pm, get a fuckin life beavis. do you really care about hockey? i dont fuckin think so. i agree with some smarter guys than you are and hope they give cheechoo a chance to play in the first line with spezz and michalek.the team is much better lookin than last year. cheers stephan
Honestly, I have been impressed with the team so far and after the game 1 dominance by the NYR, its nice to see.
I for one am a big believe in Clouston, but he line combo's so far have been disappointing. If it werent for good goaltending and good 'D', we would be nowhere....
He has to take Cheechoo off the 3rd line and give this guy a chance to score - he is not a grinder and should only put there if he doesnt deliver in the top 6. Michalek should be playing with Kovi and Fish and Alfie should be kept with Spezza because they are familiar with one another...Cheechoo should join that top line.
I have been quite disapointed on how these guys havent been used to there potential....they need a good lengthy chance, Cheechoo especially. You dont score 56 followed by 39 by accident. He had 2 bad years filled with injury and demotion, but the guy is a goal scorer, not quite like Heatley, but he can easily net 25-35 on the top line, no doubt.
I really just dont get it, and YES, it is still early, but you should try to figure these things out now as opposed to later.
I'm hoping to grab some tickets for the game Jan 16th in Montreal I want to be there sporting my Sens jersey!!! Any suggestions on where I could find some decent tickets for a fair price?
Hey Clouston!
Soooo what's the deal with not letting cheechoo play with Spezza? I mean what would be the harm in just trying it? Give the guy a chance. We read all these articles about Cheechoo and how he feels great and how he feels he can still score... All the games I've watched thus far, he's been a workhorse, but he isn't playing with anyone to get him the puck! Just one game with Spezza! That's all I ask! We gotta give him a chance and I believe keeping him on the third line is like spitting in his face.
I wouldn't blame CBC for blacking out the game.
I'm sure it was a Sens' Management decision (and based on the NFL, the correct one) to force people to buy tickets for the game. The other non-televised home games are against the Panthers and the Sabres (last game of the year).
Last year, A-channel picked up a few games... but it doesn't look like that's happening this year.
CbC or SehBehSEH is a joke. Sorry to piss in your cereal Anon 4;01 but its Truly sad to see our nations channel afraid to piss off laff nation by showing a good game instead of the crap laffs. If CbC cares just a tiny bit they would atleast stream it on thier site..but NOOOOO.With all thier FABULOUS programs..LOL you think they would give equal spot time to the SENS. But lets face it if not for Hockey Night in CANADA i would most likely skip the channel altogether. I sent a email(not that they care) To CbC telling them how diisapointed i was and hell i suggest everyone does.
Go sens Go
I don't want to insult anyone about their opinion of who should play with who, however, I think we need to give Clouston some credit here.
We aren't experts analyzing every move the players make during practise. There is a reason why Clouston is the coach and we are sitting here typing on our keyboards.
We can say all we want but we don't know all the reasons why Clouston has placed certain players together. I would trust his (and the players) judgment about team chemistry over mine any day.
Perhaps Clouston is more concerned primarily about making sure each of the lines are not defensively liabilities. Perhaps playing Spezza with Michalek makes him a more responsible and well rounded player. The points will come no matter who these players are playing with. I still chalk the lack of production upfront to adjusting to one another. If our 4th line and 6th and 7th defensemen can produce points. I can guarantee that Cheechoo can and will produce no matter who he is playing with in time. Same goes for Michalek and Spezza.
All in all, I believe that a lot more goes into line combos than we think.
What is more important, a line potting 3 to 4 goals yet being a complete defensive liability and losing us the game with giveaways and slow play OR a line playing at both ends of the ice, not giving up any goals and have the potential for an abundance of offense?
It's not always as simple as it looks on paper.
I am surprised and disappointed that CBC did not carry the Sens game on any of their channels. Right now, it's all about this team getting some consistency, playing in a system, and getting some chemistry going. It seems as though it is starting to happen. The funny part is that we're managing to score quite a few goals even without players like Michalek, Cheech, and Spezz contributing. That is a good testament to our depth. But, I would like to see contribution coming from some of our top end players soon. Leclaire-Elliot have just been awesome. Pitts will be a good test for our team.
GO SENS GO!
I was at the game last night and thought I'd add to the comments.
First the negative from last nights game. Karlsson and Campoli should not be out there together. Most of the game when this line was out there the Thrashers carried it up Karlsson's side because they knew he couldn't muscle them off of the puck. Campoli isn't nearly as good defensively as Kuba who, I believe, made up for a lot of the rookies short-comings when they were paired together. I really like Karlsson and think he is very creative and quick but I think he should spend a year in the AHL. That being said, I will be very surprised if they send him down.
Now for the positives. Everything else! The Sens played their best game of the season so far and all four lines were rolling along. While the first line didn't put any points on the board, they were strong all night and it is only a matter of time before they start to rack up the points. Also wanted to mention that Cheechoo is a beast out there and is doing all the right things. He is a very solid player and I know that great things are going to come as the season goes on. And that is coming from a guy who originally didn't think Cheechoo was very good! Glad he surprised me (as well as many others I bet).
Looking forward to being at the game on Monday. Pittsburgh is a tough team to face and I want to see how Ottawa faces such a strong team.
Win or lose, they will remain my team.
GO SENS GO!

This was posted on Elliotte Friedman's twitter page last night:
"Sens fans: Added afternoon game on the 31st for the network audience. Budget-wise we could only do one. Better national than local."
I sent a complaint email to CBC yesterday afternoon when I found out it wasn't on TV. And also didn't watch a single minute of hockey night in canada yesterday. They would never do this to leaf fans, but I guess Ottawa is still a small market for them. We missed a good game. If I knew earlier maybe I would of bought a ticket.
Regarding The CBC. It is the CBC duty to give a fair representation to each region in the country and Ottawa is defiintely one of those. It is a show of contempt to Ottawa Senator fans when they don't broadcast the Sens games. CBC Execs should be fired. As far as an essiential service comment, all regions deserve to be shown, idiot. And for buying tickets, there are many like me who have sustained a disability that prevents them from going anywhere much less to a stadium. I would love to go to a game, and have in the past bought tickets for several games each year in the past, but now I can't even move. So damn right! I deserve and all those others deserve, their tax dollars being respected and we should get our local team not only broadcasted, but in HD as well. Bump the Toronto games instead!
Oh yeah, baby:
Spezza-Regin-Ruutu
Kovalev-Shannon-Foligno
Alfredsson-Fisher-Neil
Michalek-Kelly-Cheechoo
Donovan-Winchester
I'm amazed so many of you are pissed at CBC. Not all 82 Sens games are on TV. CBC is still a business and the Stanley Cup champions with one of Canada's biggest rising stars are in the biggest city in the country. You know what, I'm sure they could get more advertising money from selling this as the national game.
I would have rather watched the Sens game but watching the leafs get beat up wasn't a complete waste of a HNIC viewing experience for me.
Rogers has a free centre ice package thing going on right now, not sure when it ends though.
I really don't see why people just didn't buy a ticket if they wanted to see the game. It's not like the game was in Atlanta, probably 90% of Sens fans are within driving distance. It's not like it's winter either. I would have like to see the game but if it's not on, do what your parents did, turn on a radio and have a listen.
Looking at the stats today I was surprised to see Ottawa has scored 11 goals and allowed 10, and yet are 3-1. This team is winning the close games unlike in the past, they are able to grind out games and stick with it until the end. I like the style Clouston is building and I like that Murray is finally able to put his stamp on the team.
It's strange, from the Sens website it lists 7 more blacked out (no tv broadcast) games this year.
12/5 v Coyotes
12/26 v Sabres
1/9 v panthers
1/18 v Bruins
2/14 v Islanders
3/27 v panthers
4/10 v Sabres
But on the NHL.com site there is only one more game with no TV coverage and that's Vs Phoenix.
So does that mean that if I have Center Ice I will be able to watch the games (like the ones v BUF) that on the sens site say there is no coverage but on NHL.com says MSG-B is broadcasting it?
I think line combinations will be the least of the Sens problems against the Pens. A lot of young guys have their work cut out for them not looking foolish against these guys. If our Sens can pull this one off, it's an amazing sign of the year we can expect.
I sure wish everyone would stop obsessing so much about Cheechoo. He's not the same guy he was a few years ago. He has been permanently slowed by injuries and the resulting surgeries. Sure he feels great, but he'll never be the same guy. Think "DENIS HAMEL." Bryan Murray has said it in many interviews: There is no expectation of this player even scoring 20 goals. San Jose had him in the bottom six consistently last year...the research has been done. He's a great worker, a solid checker and has good hands when opportunity falls into his lap. Ottawa has plenty of players that can excel as top 6 forwards (Alfie, Spezza, Michalek, Kovalev, Fisher, Foligno, Shannon, Regin...even Kelly!)
Michalek is awesome, his points will come.
Spezza is becoming a solid 2-way player...finally. Less points, better for the team.
Really...when you're ahead 4-2, do we really need goals 5-6-7 to pad everyone's stats? At the risk of letting in goals 3-4 instead? Less free pizza this year, but the team is built for the playoffs.
The best change Murray made in recent months was Clouston. He's exactly what was needed. Having solid goaltending and great forward depth, all managed by a very smart coach, will take the Sens a long way!
Hey Jeremie, mind your own business.
Cory Clouston
i agree everyone should email hockey night in toronto and freak out.....tho also the centeer ice customers as well , we are paying to follow these games imo....i woulda loved to just buy a ticket but i follow my sens from bc, so that isnt an option....habs and the leafs SUCK
the technology is all there it isnt that hard you know?and if it has to do with the announcers hell i could stand a couple games with no announcers , or mark messier talking through a whole period trying to sell us these retarded helmets(*go choke on a chip)either way tho cbc is free, we are paying centre ice for what exactly???and it sucks cuz im not just going to cancel , so they leave us absolutely screwed!!! thanks centre ice!!!
the rest of the team out-scoring our top line is deffinately NOT a problem when it comes to the sens.....spezzas been amazing, keep up the good work
Clouston got it right!!! (which i does lots and knows more than the best of us)
Anyways ...
kovalev fisher alfredsson
michalek spezza cheechoo
foligno shannon neil
ruutu kelly dono/winchester
im so glad that cheechoo is getting his shot with spezza... these lines are good for me because there is chemistry on all lines... fisher and alfie have great chemistry, and kovalev has been fitting in...
cheech and mich have chemistry and spezza should be getting going soon and is the perfect compliment to both there games... shannon and foligno have good chemistry and neil has been on a hot streak... and finally the 4th line which has good chemistry all together...
hopefully this pans out... i have been impressed with cheechoo lately im glad he is getting his shot.
I wouldn't pay to much attention to the orders im sure the spezz line and the fish line will get pretty similar minutes.
Anyone here wonder why Centre Ice shows most of their games in SD? Im out here in Toronto and im forced to watch Sens games in SD on Centre Ice instead of in HD. When I know that my friends in Ottawa are seeing it in HD on the same network. I just dont get it.
Concerning the CBC not showing the game on saturday, they say its a budget issue. That's rediculous! They could have easily used the feed from the cams at the SBP! Does anyone here have the addy of where i can send a complaint to the cbc?
For those "Anons" that keep posting "Buy a Ticket"....that's ridiculous. I don't have enough money for a ticket these days, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. When I've had money in the past, I've been at plenty of games.
The issue with CBC is simple:
They have exclusive broadcast rights across Canada for Saturday Nights. The other Canadian teams don't get disrespected like this with Saturday Night home games. If the NHL (Bettman) had cared even a little about us, they would have included it in the CBC contract that if they refused to carry such a game it could be offered to TSN and Sportsnet. Either one of them would have jumped at the chance to do this game, proving that the economics of it make sense.
It's an absolute disgrace to Canadian hockey fans that the Sens were not televised anywhere on Saturday night. The complaints are justified, but will once again be ignored.
